Hi Dani, I contacted my cc company to dispute the charges, I called the 877 number that was listed and a lady answered by the name of Anthony & Assoc it was about 7p (pst)  which would have been 10p (est) why is a collection agency still open this time of night.

hahaha WOW. You're right. Let me know how it turns out. I called the prepaid visa credit card company and they told me to write a statement and send it but who knows how that will turn up. I guess I can try dealing with the company myself as well.

They just called again a few minutes ago FIVE times in a row back to back!! So I turned my phone off and a woman left a message saying she will be stopping by my residence on Monday. Well I doubt that she would be stopping by y residence bc the address she has is in Pennsylvania and they are located in Georgia and I really live in Hawaii but if she wants to take a plane to PA just to serve me some "papers" that's great that she has enough $ to do but I won't be there LOL I don't know why these people are able to still make these calls!

Ok new person called Jessica Brown called from 678-929-5114 (luthersville,ga) for anthony barnes & assoc, stated that my payment declined and I need to contact them @ 877-293-7900 before close of business or it goes out for legal processing. She left this info with my roommate, and then called back again, my roommate says that she asked for my work# also, so she violated FDCPA, she released info to a third party, my roommate stated she gave the website as IRS.Gov, but on the form sent to me it states not affiliated with any federal or government agency*****lol.... how stupid of her.., I am keeping all the documented names and numbers and time called.

These people called my parents home and said the same thing (the girl who left the message actually sounded nice), but I have run into this before.  I have filed bankrupcy before and ever since then many of these debtors are still trying to pursue me.  Most of which were hospital bills.  Well, I contacted an attorney and we are looking into suing them becuase I have recorded their messages and they are not allowed to threaten to serve you.  The attorney I have aquired, has a process server whom I work with and she called them, said they ar trying to extort money and I am thinking of either doing a class action suit against this company or go it alone.  I did call yesterday and spoke with one woman who would not give their address or fax number and said I WAS harrassing them.  I called back and spoke to a man,Carl Wynberg, he was very adamant about me confirming some information, which he obviously had, but then I said LOOK, you claim I owe oney on something that I do not.  I want your fax number.....he said,"why so your lawyer lady can sue us?"  I said she was not a lawyer.  She just works for one.  And, if you are trying to extort money then yes I am suing you.  Then he became very upset.  I remained calm and said IF I OWE MONEY I pay.  But you will not send me any documentation, etc.  He hung up after I said I would not pay a cent until I got paper work from their office sent to my attorneys office.

I say go for it, i will be contacting the news about these fraudulent crooks, I have paperwork with the fax # listed as 404-908-0111. I apparently spoke with Carl Weinberg even if that's his real name. Now I have 5 different phone numbers associated with this so called company. I also have to wonder who this Anthony Barnes is. I have been googling and doing other research on this company with no physical address. I have called the Georgia directory there is no listing of this company. I am waiting for another call back to rip them a new [***]. So to everyone out there being contacted from this company get all information and lets report and sue the hell out of them.

Tell them that you plan on BLOWING there HEAD off ther body IF they stop by. They will never call again.

I have been receiving the same calls from the number 877 293 7900 and 646 929 6101. Today they called my mother's cell phone from a restricted number asking for me leaving a message with the 877 293 7900 number to call. The first call she received was April 6 and a woman said that she would be coming to our residence on April 9 to serve HER with papers regarding some letter of intent but she could settle the matter by calling the above number. She did not call and received another call today, April 10 with the same message except they were looking for ME. She called back and was told that I owed money to some payday loan company and if I did not set up payment immediately someone was going to come serve my brothers (somehow they had their names) and myself with court papers. She called back 3 different times each time speaking with a different woman and each time told that the person she previously spoke with was unavailable. She was told they were calling from Anthony Barnes and Associates but would not give an address just said they were based out of NY. She was scared and unfortunately gave them account info to deduct money. She is suppose to sign a letter that we should be getting to confirm payment. After reading all of these stories and seeing how they all are exactly what she was told, we are stopping payment and going to report them to local authorities. If anyone out there is taking further action against these people please post here. I want to go further with this but am not sure what to do. These people are harassing my entire family! They even called my 80 year old grandmother threatening to come to her house to find me!!! This is ridiculous and they must be stopped.

I also did get theri fax # 404-908-0111 and sent a cease and restraint letter to them preventing them from contacting me or any other people related to me.  This letter was sent by my attorney.  I do plan on suing them because they are trying to extort money from me.  AND, even if it "is supposedly" money I owe their tactics are outside the boundries of the fair debt collection act.  I would like to do a Class Action suit with many of you, but my other concern is that I will not give any of you my personal information.  So, if you would like to be part of this suit please reply to this email on here and I will set up an email.  I know many of you are scared to give out any information, which I am too.  What I may do is contact my lawyer and sk him how you can contact him.  Lets get these people!!!!!!!

I would love to file a lawsuit against this company, they have been calling from a unknown number. Also I saved the message from a lady who said she will be out to serve me, there was no disclaimer given on the voicemail left, and she did not even leave her name, she also stated that I need to set arrangments. If she knew anything she released information on my voicemail so a 3rd party could hear it. I have 12 yrs of collection experience to know FDCPA guidelines, so they can eat dirt. The other person released 3rd party info to my daughter, who they thought was me. I had my daughter notorized the letter, just in case I need it.

i recieved a call from the same people except the phone no. was 877-293-7900, told them my address if they wanted to serve papers. they called my mother in-law and had her upset, i told her to ignore them, they were simply trying to scam money. i also talked with  neighbor who is a sherriff he said they would have to file papers with county courts.

the only legitimate listing for this company online, is a realestate agency, i sent them an email letting them know scammers were using their name as debt collector and listed the phone numbers i know of so far.

This same thing is happening to me...exact same thing....they have called from the 800293# and also.given me call back numbers of 6789296101 & 6789296099...you can never talk to the same person twice. Its ridiculous. Let me know if there's anything else that i should do...as i have placed a stop payment on the funds being deducted as well

I got a phone call from a restricted number telling me that i had some filed documents on this ladys desk and that i was on her schedule to be served papers tommorow. she didnt leave a name just a number to call. i called the number like a dummy and asked if theres a way to work it out they said i had to pay 600 something for me not to get served. when i had my mom call and talk to them they had to have me tell them my last four digits of my ss and when my mom refused they hung up on her. then just now i got another phone call telling me they were going to serve me papers tommorow between 12 and 5 and that i should be avaible. does this sound familar to nebody?

If you want to do a Class Action suite, please count me in. I like a dummy gave them my information for my acct after being contacted on a debt i owed for a payday loan company which they did not disclose. I did put a stop payment on my account and Chase did reissue me another debit card.

The real Anthony and Associates deals with Real Estate.  I was also advised this company has to provide you with documentation via phone or fax on copies of payday loan afidavit signed by yourself.

yes, that sounds very familiar, save and write down the names of the person, time called, & phone number. This is a scam and do not fall for it. They now contact me from a unknown number same time every morning, so I let the phone ring. The last message that was left for me, I saved it.

A lady by the name of Beverly called me yesterday and is suppose to deliver papers to me today at my place of work. will keep the forum updated. sadly i have a sister who recieved a phone call at her house with my name and info. they told her they were suing me and have me put in jail for check fraud of which i do not owe any loans at all. she believed them. very upset she is. so yes i will gladly assist in getting these slime bags.

They have been calling me private since Monday April 16. A woman left a voicemail saying I have field documents that were supposedly going to be served on the 18th. I contacted the 877 number where the same person answers the phone every time saying "anthony barnes & associates" and she is very very rude. They will not give me a FAX number or a physical address on them because they say people do "crazy stuff". I just received anther private call stating that unless she hears otherwise from the claimant she will be out to serve me today
