GOCGDC ARE CON ARTISTS replies to Yes TRUE! Scammer!
CRA does not recogize GOCGDC.  The TRUE CRA representatives will give out a ID (alpha-numeric) but only if you have submitted something and they found an error or you contacted them.  DO NOT GIVE OR ANSWER ANYTHING FROM GOCGDC.  They have stolen many ID and $$$$ from the victims.

Contact CRA to verify via contact tel numbers in the link below; do not use the number they give you as they to are false:  http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html

CBC should expose on these creeps.

@Hannah, you are part of the fraud.  what you say is impossible, only believable by unfortunately gullible or stupid people.   1 800-931-1026 is certainly a fraud and they must be stopped.   these people should be behind thick prison bars as soon as possible.
    total fraud.

The number 1-800-931-1026 kept on calling my house at least 4 times a day, claiming they are Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and they needed our Social Insurance Numbers (SIN). So we phoned the REAL CRA and they told us that this place is a scam and not to give our any information at all seeing as how they will try to get all the information out of you that they can and then at the end they ask for your credit card number (to pay for supposed unpaid bills). So then the REAL CRA then told us to phone the police if it persisted, because the people just won't stop. Last night we called the police, because they are now calling "Private name, Private number" and leaving messages so our whole family can hear them. The police said that it is harassment and if it persists that there will be a big issue. But the police informed us that every hour they phone from a different location (because they can bounce the number around so they can't be tracked). So now our next step is to call our phone operator and block their number. This is the only way to get rid of them. Hope this helps everyone.

The 18009311026 is an automated CCRA service that calls you to remind you that you have a balance owing to the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. The number is not meant to be called back and will never leave a voice mail. Upon recieving a call from this number you are suppose to call your local CCRA collection department and sort your situation out.

All caller IDs can be spoofed. I could easily call you from 666-666-6666 (DEVIL). Don't worry, you won't die.

Yes, that could easily be CRA. However, all Caller ID's are easily spoofed. I can call you from (1-888-STU-PID1 - A. CANADIAn IS A RUDE MORON) if I wanted to. It could be anyone. If they are CRA, you can easily hang up and call them back on the general inquiries hotline.

I had that come up on my caller display yesterday at lunch time. No message was left but when I phoned the number back a recording did actually say welcome to Canada Revenue Agency Collection Service, and then again in French so I assume they have changed it up a bit, and made it less secretive. Hope this helps.

    Hi Evereyone,

I also received a call from the GOC-GDC & wanted to check it out too before I answered the call. After reading the posts in a couple of these forums I found this link
Direct to the Government of Canada Website:

    Link: http://www.btb.gc.ca/btb.php?lang=eng&cont=045

    ********************************************************************************************

    Full title

In English, the official title Government of Canada takes a capital g (e.g. the Government of Canada will introduce the new legislation). However, unofficial titles such as Canadian government, federal government and provincial government take a lower-case g. The plural form governments also takes a lower-case g (e.g. the governments of Canada and the United States met to discuss trade issues).

In French, gouvernement takes a lower-case g in the title gouvernement du Canada, whether referring to the legislative and executive bodies or the public service (e.g. le gouvernement du Canada présentera la nouvelle loi; les rouages du gouvernement du Canada). The same rule applies to all uses of gouvernement, including gouvernement fédéral, gouvernement provincial and gouvernements provinciaux.

    Abbreviation

The use of abbreviations for Government of Canada in the federal public service has been inconsistent. To standardize usage and respect general rules for abbreviations, the Translation Bureau recommends GC for both English and French (e.g. the GC will introduce the new legislation; le GC présentera la nouvelle loi). All other forms should be avoided (e.g. GoC, G.o.C., GOC, G.O.C., goc and gc in English or GdC, GDC, Gdc, g. du C., G. du C., and G du C in French).

The first time a title appears in an English or French text, it should be spelled out in full followed by the abbreviation in parentheses (e.g. the Government of Canada (GC) will introduce the new legislation; le gouvernement du Canada (GC) présentera la nouvelle loi). Subsequently, the abbreviation can be used on its own. In French, the abbreviation followed by the full title in parentheses is also acceptable (e.g. le GC (gouvernement du Canada) présentera la nouvelle loi).

If there really is an issue with your taxes, they will send you a letter and reassessment... my advice is to wait for the letter.

Government of Canada - CRA (TAXES)
They are phoning only if you owe money... On your 2010 Tax bill! Phone and arrange payment plans with them or you will be sorry they will take your home, paychecks, pension, and anything else you own.
    They can and they will!

Right. The government has 50,000 employees who have absolutely nothing to do but intimidate people into re-filing their taxes (often a decade's worth of taxe returns) because they have nothing better to do. There's literally thousands of government employees sitting around with nothing to do but harrass people about their tax returns.

All of them have full benefits, and will receive primo pensions.

If you answer these calls, do NOT tell the idiot on the phone anything. Get a lawyer and have him (or her) get in touch with them. If its a serious situation, they will contact you via registered mail.

DO NOT give any information over the phone.

Revenue Canada (or whatever they call it nowadays) came after me for $183,000 in unpaid taxes. After being subjectd to constant harrasement and dozens of phone calls every day, I eventually settled for $50,000 (in my favour) plus legal fees.

These worthless "public servants" will haunt you till the end of time.

Called CRA and agent suggested to answer the call and ask for the caller's name and phone number, and DO NOT give out any personal info.  CRA agents WILL provide you their names and phone number to get back to them.  You then call 1 800 O‑Canada to verify the caller's name.  If the caller and phone number cannot be found in CRA's sytem, then is a fraud.

Received a call from this number once yesterday, didn't answer.  Try to follow what CRA suggested me to do today when receiving the same number calling again - I answered, they hung up.  Now really getting suspicious....
