ya, they left me a voice mail too, it really is the CRA

This isn't fake. They called and didn't leave a VM. I called back and was only asked to provide a business #, no personal info. It's the CRA collections line.

Total scam. This number has called me multiple times now on my cell, but I don't give out my cell number and don't put my cell number on anything with the government. So total load of BS. Can't wait for them to call back again and see what they say .

They just called me.  I didn't answer and they DID NOT leave a message.  

As an accountant I have dealt with the CRA many times and they ALWAYS leave a message (whether its for Corporate Tax, HST, personal tax, payrol tax, etc.)

I agree with other posts that this is likely a scam.  NEVER EVER give your SIN over the phone.  If you believe it to be the CRA and want to give your SIN then ask for a reference number and call back on the number provided on their website.

This is CRA - legit number. They called me to file tax returns. It happened every year because I always late to file my corporate tax returns. Not a scam or hoax.

Its a scam. Do NOT give out any personal information whatsoever.

The CRA will always leave a detailed message with the name and number of an account manager that you can call back at the official CRA phone number, and they will already know all of your information and they will not ask you for any information over the phone, ever!

If this number calls you report it to your local Police department!

I have received two calls in the last two days.  As I did not answer, I do not know the name of the person who called.

Someone called me from this number 18009321026 caller id was goc gdc asking for me and tellimg me they needed to discuss my t1. I said I was on my way out and I would call back. They gave me a number of 18009592250. I do not know if this is scam or not. They called me at 7 pm mst.

Since when does the CRA call from the United States?

The number is now on my reject list. I owe nothing to CRA and there number is a Canadian number not American. This is a scam and you are part of it!

This is an abosolutely legitimate CRA phone number. It's not being spoofed, it's their autodialer calling. It's their collections team. I'm an accountant and they called my client many times without leaving a message (autodialer doesn't do that and I confirmed it as I have a friend who works at CRA in collections). My client didn't owe any money, but I know for a fact that he had an overdue HST return for his business from Q1 of this year. Sure enough, after providing the busniess number, the agent asked why the delay in filing. I explained to him the reason and committed to filing it within 2 weeks. He asked what bank the company deals with and I told him (they can get this information easily anyways). The reason why they want to know is so that if the return isn't filed, they will arbitrarily assess and eventually garnish what's owing. This won't come down to that and they don't ask for the bank account number, just the bank itself. So if you're called by these people, they likely have something to take up with you. Good luck.

Oh its CRA alright. Very pleasant man on the phone told me some paperwork for one of our companies was past due.  I was grateful for the heads up.

Read what the others are saying. You can easily make a different number show up when you call someone. They used to have an app for it. Just because it is a cra number doesn't mean it is the cra. Do not give anyone that information over the phone that called you up.

That's so special that you think getting called by some scammer disguised as a professional would call you. Better yet that you would find the time to search a complaint site and enter your BS testimonial.

they do not leave msge, they mumble when talking and ask for SIN revenue Canada reference number.. hard to understand them.... they do not giver their id number ... fraudsters...

I started getting calls from this number a week or so ago.  They call every day but didn't leave a message so I figured it was spam after checking this web site.  A few days ago I decided to answer and the person said he was from CRA and he wanted to discuss some amount I owed them.  I said I wouldn't discuss anything over the phone and to please send me a letter as I have always corresponded with them through letters.  Well sure enough, today I received a CRA letter and there was some mix up with my last tax return so I have to state that from my experience the number is legit.  However, I admit CRA could do a better job with their phone service.
