- joeThey left a message from this number saying it "was about a recent inquiry you made to chase". Since I did recently initiate a dispute, I called back. The first thing they asked when I called back was for my card full number. To check on them, I asked "what was the inquiry that you were talking about on my voice mail" and she says "sorry sir I cannot disclose anything". Ok. I said I'll just call the chase number. I have no idea what this is, but I am not giving my card number to some random person on the phone who "cannot disclose anything." In the past, Chase has never called about a dispute.
- West Coast GalThis number may be a legit Chase number, and if it is, it's being 'spoofed' on caller ID by people claiming to be Chase but asking for personal information. I received a call from this number from a female with a foreign accent. She wanted to allegedly verify some information. Long story short, after I refused to tell her anything and told her I felt her call and questions were extremely suspicious. She offered to give me a phone number to call to verify her call was legitimate, but I told her that was kinda silly since I would have no way of knowing or verifying the number she would give me. She told me I could call any Chase number then and I hung up. Little did the caller know that I've been a Chase customer for years and have NEVER have I received a call like this. So I called a Chase number that I know is Chase and explained to the agent the types of questions I had been asked. The agent said it was definitely a scam call as they would NEVER call me and ask for that type of information, and that if there was a question, they would correspond with me via mail. So, regardless of what caller ID shows, if something is telling you it's not right, then trust your gut because it's probably not right!

- Gustaf Regol replies to JANIEChase Bank credit card fraud PREVENTION. Checking on fraud activity on one of my Chase credit cards. Legit.
- FrankI do not have an account with chase. They called & left an empty voicemail on my cell phone. When I called them back, they asked for my SSN#. I told them to F off.
- Caller: Chase
- KatI keep receiving calls but I don't answer and they don't leave a voice message. I researched it and it is obvious it is a scam. I will block but then again they will change numbers.
- HenryThis was Chase calling me. yes, I have an account with them and I had just reported suspicious activity on my account. They were calling me back to confirm. I called them back on the number provided in the recording.
- Caller: Chase
- DavidI contacted the actual chase number listed and they tell me this number isn't affiliated with Chase at all. Don't give out your info to this scam
- Caller: So called chase
- MikeThis is definitely a Chase Personal Banking # per this Chase URL: https://www.chase.com/resources/personal-banking-contact.
I contacted them early this week about a call and a couple texts I received. I asked about this # and they confirmed that it is a customer contact number for their personal banking division.
However, when receiving a call it could be spoofed. So, simply hang-up and call the number back which would go to Chase.- Caller: Chase
- bostonhollyit's Chase, they call when I have disputed something or if a charge goes over a certain amount

- JoshThis is a legit Chase number, however the call I received was a scam. They left a voicemail claiming there was fraud activity on my account, and asked me to call a 866-582-7170 number. I instead called the number on my CC, and they noted that there was no fraud notes on my account. When in doubt, just hang up and/or call the number on your CC instead of what they ask.
- Caller: Chase (fake)
- EVGot a call today from this number while I was out. I was hesitant to call back the number they left, but knew it had to do with my Amazon.com Visa. Called the number on the back of my card and was informed that it was the fraud department trying to contact me. Apparently my card number had been compromised and I needed to get a new card.

- katI have a chase account but only a $14.34 balance... not sure what this is about.

The message told me to call back at 888-489-8452
Chase Fraud Department rep told me that both numbers belong to Chase
A person by the name of John Jardin (?) left a voicemail message at my work phone number at 6 pm on Sunday. Four different Chase reps said that the number was NOT associated with my account. I did have a small (< $10) charge dispute that I filed online a few days earlier. The whole thing seemed not right - why didn't he contact me through the online message center or email? Why not call my private number that IS on the account? Dispute Department did not confirm or deny the existence of the person, although the first two reps said there was no records of them ever calling me recently regarding this dispute. The first rep said the dispute had already been taken care of - refund credited to my account and a written confirmation being sent out. It seemed there was no reason for anyone to call me at that stage, on Sunday at 6 pm.
The third Dispute Dept rep whom I spoke with today (after a lengthy dispute with their Fraud Department whose rep just refused to deal with this as possible phishing and kept trying to forward it back to Dispute Department instead of connecting me with his supervisor) said that there was a record of a call being made around that time to MY PRIVATE NUMBER (which I never received), but no record of who made the call (???). I'm not sure what to make out of it. I would not be surprised if it was made up to end the conversation.
At any rate, this shows that their internal record keeping system is sub-par (you do not know which rep called me?), and I would not be surprised if some data bleach is occurring - i.e., data on who filed disputes, but not their phone number or email associated with the account. It is most likely that "John" found my work number through an online search.- Caller: Supposedly Chase Card Member Services
- KrisI got a call from 8009359935 (a legit Chase number) and I didn't pick up. I called the number back and the Chase rep told me they never called me.

- AaronMan with heavy Indian accent says he's calling from Chase bank. He also called yesterday claiming to be from a Pharmacy and offered to sell oxycodone.
- Caller: Indian accent bank scam

- UlisesI just got a text from this number saying that my card has been compromised and that I'll get a new one in the mail, what's weird is that when I call the number the first thing they ask for is my account number or social, but this is also the number on the back of my card. I talked to someone there but I only gave them my address so they could look up my account. They did confirm that I was getting a new car in the mail but I'm still unsure about this, I guess I'll update this if I really get a new card.

- BobI don't have a Chase account, so one of two (or more) things seems to be happening here:
+ Chase somehow has the wrong phone number on an account
…because of a clerical error, or
…because a fraudster just threw in my number randomly as they set up a bogus account
Or…
+ A fraudster is making VoIP calls and spoofing Chase's number in order to phish.
In any event, not really great.
