- Niecey in SF, CA| 3 repliesI was annoyed, too, because it's obviously an autodial. But after several days of their calls (and even a personal message -- not prerecorded -- to call back "Tim Nash") I picked up and talked to "Preston". It was indeed Discover Card, and he was offering a lower APR if I signed up for monthly auto withdrawal from my bank. I DID NOT give him any info about my bank, etc -- he already knew the last 4 digits of my account (I had auto withdrawal for awhile, but don't at the moment), and he knew my Discover balance, limit, and current APR. He sounded legit, and so I said okay. Wish me luck -- I hope it's all true and I don't start getting extra problems from somewhere else!?...

- stop the madnessI have been geting calls from this number for a couple of months. No message has ever been left.
I actually considered getting a Discover Card, but now that I know it's them....never
They wouldn't like me anyway, I don't carry a credit card balance....- Call type: Telemarketer
- Jay| 1 replyThis was a call from Discover Card, or a vendor working on their behalf. It seemed like they were using an autodialer. I am a Discover Card member and the caller knew many of my details so it seemed legit.
She wanted to set me up with an auto-payment plan since my balance is over the credit limit. I told her she could go ahead and do so. She didn't ask for any bank account information because they had it on file already (she read me the names of the two banks I use and they were correct). She just asked me to confirm the last 4 digits of my social security #, to confirm my identity.- Caller: Discover Card

- Susan"Sheila" asked me to call her back, didn't identify what company she was from. I don't return those kind of calls EVER. It was not a pre-recorded message. Based on other posts here, I now know where she's calling from and what she wants. I LOVE THIS WEBSITE.
- Caller: didn't identify
- Well InformedScrew you Discover Card, I am not going to give you permission to do auto draft for my payments. Keep calling and I'll cut up my card and then quit making payments, then you will have a REAL reason to call. [***].

- sickofemthey called at work pestering several people, demanding to be connected to HR...giving out my personal information to some one who had told them ,"wrong number".....all to try and sell me on auto pay.
Disgusting, threaten my employment by behaving like a collection agency....how am I supposed to pay my bill if they cost me my job by being rude and pushy to my employers?....I am current on my bill, have never been behind or even late but now I am forced to go tell people who employ me for safety and security that ,no those calls were not collections and I have demanded they stop.- Caller: discover card

- Suzanne| 2 repliesThey claim they are Discover. They have my balance and last 4 digits of my card. BUT they didn't have my address. Hmmmm, when I refused to give them my address, she hung up on me. I called the number on my Discover card, they had nothing in their files that stated they we trying to reach me and they new my address. My account is up to date. My guess is that Discover has sold "parts" of our information to someone else. It is irritating as they call often. I just don't ever answer now. Scam.

- Suzanne replies to JayYou really shouldn't ever ok anything over the phone unless you call the company directly. No good ever coming from that...
