- wagirlI just received a message from a representative of "Superior Services" asking me to call 800-980-0304 to redeem my gift. Not only did the call come in at 9:45pm urging me to call immediately, but he mentioned a drawing I entered at the U-District Street Fair. Suspiciously, the only drawing I entered was for a $1000 Target Gift Certificate and the form I filled out had no official Target logo. Not only that, but the woman at the booth would not let a young child spin the prize wheel to win a toy until the parents filled out the form. When I called the number back, I was asked my name and what city I lived in so as to set up my appt. for the 90min presentation. While the prospect of winning a free vacation sounds great, my instincts are telling me to not buy into this bull%&$#.

- divadavooI went to the presentation at VI Passports - it was 90 min. thing about timeshare stuff. The people were nice and friendly and it was interesting. I don't have it in my budget so I didn't do it. I did get the three day, two night trip - the dinner and limo ride - and $20 in gas. You just have to send away for all of it which just takes time. I was worried about going to but it was fine.
- Joe in Olympia replies to VolneyDid you attend the 90-minute seminar? What were they selling? Did you actually get a free trip for attending?
- LISSYSuperior Services is using also the festivals like Northwest Folklife Festival to obtain personal information through ruffles. Be very careful we thought we were in a ruffle for something else. They are asking to see your credit cards.
- ErinI entered a drawing at the norghtgate mall for a shopping certificate and got a call from a company called superior services. My friend also entered the same drawing when I did and we both got calls the next week. We went together to the travel presentation for vi passport last saturday and got a free vacation and a gas card for $20 to shell. we didn't have to buy anything! It seemed like a good deal but none of us have much money right now. we might consider doing something like this in the future. There was a lot of other freegift getters there too. The people at the tabe next to us bought their travel program. My only complaint is that they ran out of cofee!

- imacamarogirl| 1 replyI received a call at 3:20 PM, but didn't recognize the callers voice, so when she asked if I was "imacamarogirl", I said "No, but I can take a message for her." The woman said she was calling about an entry "imacamarogirl" had put in on line. When I asked what type of entry, she was evasive- saying "on line". I had to ask twice for her name, which she finally said was Josie, and she wouldn't tell me what the call was for or the company name, just her first name, the toll free number 1-800-980-0304 and her extension number. (#14). I don't enter or give any information on line, so I knew it was a scam and immediately "googled" the number, which led me here...and exactly what I figured I'd find!
- Deva replies to Volney| 12 repliesWhat happened? Was the talk legit?
- RRip off.
I too got a call from Superior and went to the 90+ minute time share presentation. The rip off is there is no free 2 day 3 night vacation. YOu have to first pay $55 and complete the certificate. Then they tell you what dates and locations might be available. Then you send them $300 for the couple. then they tell you where and when your vacation is (plus they hav ethe right to change it at any time). So $355 for a flight and 2 nights in a cheap hotel in Reno in off season is not free.
The limo ride and free dinner is similar. The "limo ride" is a town car that picks up several people and makes several stops like a bus. The free dinner is a coupon for $20 off an entree (max 2), but this deal costs you $18 plus the driver grinds you for a tip. Finally the gas card. NO gas card. Again a coupoin you mail in with a SASE. That has not even been received yet.
Complaints to IV Passport receive the response they have nothing to do with the "giveaways."- Caller: IV Passport/Superior Services
- jp replies to Susieqpdx| 1 replyI just got a call from 253-939-6824...I think it's one of those time shares things. You have to show up in person for some kid to give you a demo out of a catalog and agree to something.

I went to the time share presentation based on the promise of "Free" gifts. Dishonest people.

Complaints to IV Passport receive the response they have nothing to do with the "giveaways." Complaints to Superior Services Experience are ignored. - LilamesI also received a call from this number and was offered all the same things as the person above. This was over a year ago. I, unfortunately, was one of those people that REALLY got ripped off. I fell for the scam, paid out the $$ for the trip. The company name they used was "Demand Vacations" and after getting suckered into the whole thing, they became unreachable. Unanswered emals, phone lines disconnected, etc.
Today, I received another phone call from the same number calling their company "Superior Services". They offered all the same "free" gifts as before. When I confronted the woman about my previous situation with their company and asked for a person to contact about it, she said "yes" and hung up on me.- Caller: Superior Services

- StephenMy wife and I went to the presentation for vi passport and got a $500.00 online shopping certificate to www.selectyourgifs.com Some of the stuff was pretty good and some of the stuff was junk. You have to be careful of what you pick. We didnt' buy their program and the salesperson gave us our gifts after we said that we weren't interested.

- Malia replies to Deva| 11 repliesI got the same calls and same deal. It's a timeshare thing, like Trends West. And if you travel a lot around the US, sure, it's an OK deal. I guess. We had to sit for over 90 minutes and listen to this guy go through the very basic sales cycle. Step 1: Be chatty. Step 2: Learn something about the person that you share in common. Step 3: Share common interests and stories. Step 4: Talk about what you're selling with your new "friend." Step 5: Make them want it by telling them they can't buy it today. Step 6: Show them what they CAN buy without telling them how much it costs. Step 7: Close the deal. It was ridiculous and I had no intention of buying their timeshare deal. But we did get THREE "prizes" for enduring the 90+ minute talk.
Prize 1: $500 online shopping certificate. I don't know much about this. They said it was for some "home furnishing site" online. All you have to do to get this is send a self addressed stamped envelope to them. It's in the mail now.
Prize 2: Dine in Style Dinner and Limo Ride. Reading the fine print states that they pick the dates and times you can go, which are not on the weekend. The limo company has "designated pick-up and drop-off sites." Your "free" dinner is limited to a $20 entree only, per person, so maximum $40 total. They claim the value of the prize is $210, so you have to send them a check for $18 and then tip the driver and pay tip and taxes on the meal. You can't do dinner without the limo or vice versa. There are only 5 or 6 restaurants you can pick from and I don't know which location the dinner is good for. They won't tell me anything until I send in the $18. Should I do it?
Prize 3: The trip. You get 2 night hotel accommodations and roundtrip airfare for two people. This costs $65 to redeem the certificate and then you have to pay "approximately $150 per person" in taxes and reservation fees to get the trip. You always have to leave on a Tuesday. You can't pick the airline or flight times. You can't pick the hotel. There are only five locations you can choose from: Las Vegas, Reno, LA, Orlando, Cancun, or Puerto Vallarta. The web site says that the flights leave from "a selected major international airport." What the heck does that mean? Does that mean if I want to go to Mexico, my flight will leave from Miami? I asked about this as well and the company sent me the following email:
>>>>
Our company doesn't handle the booking of the reservations, as it is done with another travel agency, therefore we do not have booking details. When you redeem your certificate you will receive a reservation form in the mail and that form you will use to book your reservations with the travel agency listed on it.
You can view the costs and terms of the offer on your certificate.
The travel agency works with most major airlines and gateway cities and the one it would be depends on what is available for the dates and location chosen at time of booking.
>>>>
So basically, it will cost me $65 to even find out if that's a worthwhile trip.
What do you guys think? Scam? Too good to be true? Too much fine print and limitations and restrictions???
Hope this helps... I'm open to comments and advice. - dan replies to MaliaHi. I won similar prizes form a timeshare company.
1) $500.00 gift certificate - it's a rip off. We were allowed to spend $500.00 on a variety of products, but when you go to check out they charge you per $$ dollar you spend a fee. So it could potentially cost you a couple $$ hundred dollars to spend the $500.00
2 & 3) basically after the first certificate we just read fine print.
Your right, to many restrictions, fine print, costs incurred by you or I. Nothing in these "Gifts", or "Prizes" are free....
We just chalked the 90+ minutes up to a boring date night...lol - christine replies to Annoyed1
- rachellea couple of days ago i got a phone call saying i won prizes and FREE gifts. i just had to go to this place to pick up my FREE gift. ALL OF WHAT THEY ARE TELLING YOU IS COMPLETE LIES!!!!! They are trying to get you to buy into their company and the prizes arent even free. you have to pay these fees and it's still costing you money. You know it's a scam when they want the money first! don't do it people pass this message on!!!!!
