- jade4886I received a call from them last week and today. The callback number i was told to call back was 1800 380 6163 ext. 534. When i called a guy answered the phone, "This is Robert" I thought i had called the wrong number but he asked for an extention number and said that was the gift department. Why would a business answer the phone in that manner? I was told that i was drawn for some great gifts. All i had to do was attend a 90 min. presentation. The gifts are supposed to be a free 3 day two night vacation including hotel and airfare, 500$ gift certificate for selectyourgifts.com, and a dinner and limo service. I agreed to go to the presentation tomarrow at 8 pm. Seems kinda late for something like this.I did attend a similar thing like this for trendwest and got free dinner, american express gift cards, and a free vacation also. The only thing i had to pay them was the taxes for the vacation which were a reasonable price. I guess I'll see how it goes at teh presentation... I dunno yet.
- Mike M replies to Volney| 9 repliesI read your post and am supposed to go down to VI passports today, what did you find when you wnet down?
- smitty replies to MaliaThanks for this post, it was incredibly helpful. These people have been calling me pretty much since october. I have them entered into my phone now so I know when not to pick up. I was thinking that if I had to just sit throught the whole sales pitch then got a free trip, it might be worth it. but sounds like there's way too many strings attached.
- D| 2 repliesI received a call from "Faith", the phone number used this time for a call back number was 800-380-6163 ("Faith" was at extension 46 in case anyone wants to call her). Apparently one of the drawings I entered at the bridal expo drew my name for all sorts of free stuff. "Faith" promised me that the company wasn't a time share company (lie) and that we wouldn't have to pay anything for our free gifts (lie as well, I've seen the postings stating the amounts that have to be paid to get free stuff). The really random and obvious thing was that she asked if my fiance and I made over a certain amount every year....why exactly does a company not selling you anything need to know your income? Like any intelligent person, I was vague and noncommittal but signed up for a meeting this saturday to give me time to check it out(I think it goes without saying that my fiance and I are not going). My fiance and I got sucked in to something like this before, and honestly, it's crap. Seriously, why don't you just save the money needed to claim your prizes and put it in on a real vacation of your choice?

- murphy replies to Mike M| 8 repliesI went to a bridal show over the weekend, Sunday to be specific. Only signed up for two things because I've seen this nightmare before...they keep calling and calling and calling telling you you've won "prizes" that now you have to pay something for...which incidentally aren't the prizes that you signed up to win in the first place. The calling started Tuesday asap... you've won fabulous prizes please call us back. Of course I tracked the number and name VI Passports to this site and definately won't call them back now. I think there should be some rules about the whole bait and switch scam just to get your info for a timeshare. I am still getting calls from one signup from a wine event 2 years ago! These people are relentless. Good luck everyone!
- Rockstar714 replies to murphy| 7 repliesI went to the wedding expo sunday too, and miraculously I got a call today. After reading all the posts I'm definitely not going...at least with the Wyndham resorts you don't have to pay anything.
Thanks for all your posts, they're super helpful!
I never trust a company that doesn't even have a website. I asked the guy if he could email me directions and he said he wasn't even sitting in front of a computer. - nicole. replies to D| 1 replyi received a call today from VI Passports. The number and name that showed up on my CID was actually Brenda Johnson 253 520 3734. Said that I won a free trip through a Wedding Expo that I had attended last weekend. I listened to the information the gentleman, "Mackey" gave me. He asked some interesting questions. Such as, how much my fiance and I make a year combined. At first I was thinking that "Hey free trip! Cool" But I decided to look up the stuff on it anyway and found this forum. Thank goodness I checked. I'm not getting pulled in by this scam. Thanks!
- Christina replies to imacamarogirlI got a voicemail from Josie today, too. Different number, but the same extension. Apparently I won some blankets. Must be the sinking economy, seems like everyone else got a vacation! Well, glad I found your comment before I got suckered in. Thanks!

Company: VI Passports - shoegrl replies to goody2shoesJust got almost this exact same spiel, just over the phone from Jenny (made the mistake of actually answering – won’t do that again!). Thanks for all the information about this we won’t waste our time going. I thought it was odd they didn’t have a company website, now I know why!
- Sherry replies to Rockstar714| 6 repliesI went to the Tacoma Dome and Seattle wedding expos earlier this month but I'm guessing, after reading these posts, that it was something from the Tacoma show. I too recieved a call yesterday regarding "free gifts" and "free trips" but it sounded REALLY sketchy.
My fiance was in the car with me going "it's a scam, it's a timeshare, just say no" but I wasn't sure what the guy was talking about so I listened to him. When I told him that we couldn't come down this week and when I asked him if there was a website I could check out, he was like, "I'm not sure there is a website, I think it's...blah blah" But he had no clue. He called me AGAIN today and left a message on my phone, but I am not going to call him back. Thanks to everyone on here who posted! It was so helpful! - SherryI've received two calls from these two numbers: 253-520-3697 and 253-520-3734, both claiming to be from a company called VI Passports. The same guy has called me twice (I didn't answer the 2nd time), but the first time, he claimed that I had "won" a free trip and other prizes from the Tacoma Bridal Show. He said that my name had been drawn for a 3 night, including airfare, trip among other "cash" prizes. I didn't recall entering for such a drawing, but he said if we came down for a seminar, we'd get the prizes. My fiance was next to me going "it's a scam, it's for a timeshare deal" but I listened to the guy for a few minutes. When I told him I'd have to get back to him regarding the date, I asked him about a website I could visit to get more information. The guy didn't know a website or have an email I could respond to...very suspicious! Who doesn't have a website these days? He called me again today, but I didn't answer. I have a feeling he'll be caling again...hopefully I can tell him I'm not interested and he'll leave me alone.

- NewlywedI went to the wedding expo in Tacoma last year after getting engaged and these people are still calling saying "I've won some fabulous prizes". I had turned them down when they first called last March and now they are using different numbers but it's still the same company. The numbers I have received are 1-253-520-3986 and Jenny tells me to call back on her "direct line" which is 1-800-515-8047. I have learned my lesson on entering contests. After reading all the posts I'm glad I didn't return her calls!

- Billy joThese "great" people took their list of people to harass from a wedding expo sign in log. Then they call me 2, 3 times a day to tell me that I won a vacation. Not only that, I won an extra $500 for responding so quickly. There is no vacation, you attend a meeting where they try to sell you a time share. Free 3 night stay, free limo? No, first you pay 20%. It's a rip off!

- bummedWe got the call too after attending the Home Show. We decided to check out the presentation and get the "free" stuff. The 3 day trip will cost you a few hundred dollars, after fees, which isn't free, but is fairly cheap considering it covers airfare. Not sure if I'll use it. We also got a $500 gift certificate that is likely worthwhile.
The presentation was not too painful and we were out the door (after saying no) in under two hours. The part that is very sketchy is that if you want to buy the program you must sign up that very day. You CANNOT take the contract home without signing it first. Any offer is good for that day only!
They offer you two deals: #1 is the full package for about $24k plus $500/yr +/-. That includes 105 "points" that you can use for your whole life. If used in the off-season, these points may get you 4-5 weeks of hotel use. In the peak-season, you'd be lucky to get one week. You can sell your ownership or sell vacation packages as you see fit. I'm not a broker, so that didn't appeal to me.
Overall, the product quality looks good. I've stayed at one of their resorts and it was great. That said, I will not buy their product for two reasons. One, it seems overpriced with too many unknowns. Two, if they are unwilling you let you read the contract and think about it before signing up, I think they are trying to hide something. Not worth the risk.- Caller: VI Passport
- squeezebean| 2 repliesI got a call after attending the Seattle Womens' Show. They left a message, so I thought it was weird that they called again a couple of days later. Wouldn't you move on to the next "winner" if you couldn't reach the first one? They wanted to make sure either I or my husband was at least 25, and that we made at least 35,000 a year. I had to agree to attend a seminar on a certain date and was told I couldn't change my appointment after setting it up. After reading all of your comments, I'm not going! What a terrible scam. I was so excited when I heard my name had been drawn in a raffle, and the lady on the phone kept insisting it was legitimate. No catch, nothing to buy. Right. I guess you can't trust anyone any more. Can't someone shut these people down? Now they have my name and phone number.

- Kat replies to Sherry| 5 repliesI got the call and was unsure myself. None the less I thought it would be worth it JUST to get the free gifts, and yes they are free. So I headed to the location (VI passports) and went to the 90 min thing and liked what they were selling. They were really helpful and I did not feel that they were pushy at all. You do have to pay like $55 in tax for the free trip around $150 for outside the US (Mexico) Come on people, its taxes, that can’t be free, just like if you win money or the lotto you have to pay taxes on it. They can’t get you out of that!
I guess if you want to use a REALLY generic name for what they sell you could call it LIKE a time share BUT ITS NOT! They are through the BBB (Better Business Bureau) The trip they give you for free for attending is NOT through them, its NOT one of there locations, its just a promotional thing, the whole business helping out and promoting you know what. But who cares. For $55 can you really complain? And yes like someone else said, the $500 online store and the limo date night service thing. You will still get all that for attending. If you just want the free gifts, it is worth it, if you like to travel and HATE how much it cost, its something you should look into, don’t let the all out ownership cost alarm you. And yes I said OWNER! That what you purchase is an ownership. It’s not just ONE location its locations all over the world, there’s directly are in the US, but they also book through RCI which has locations all over the world. Like I said, if you like to travel, it’s worth it, having a travel agent and stay at five star PLUS resorts for the REST OF YOUR LIFE! I ( I did meet someone who was a very nice older later who has been an owner for longer than I have been alive)AND NO I DONT work for these people and I am not trying to sell this, I am just a satisfied customer who is actually in the Military and saw this as a investment, if its sounds like something of interest like I said, its worth it, just don’t be alarmed by the price, you have to weigh it all out as far as costs and over the year etc... I could go on trying to explain this but like I said, I found them very nice and not pushy at all! I found it very worth my time and am very excited and pleased with my choice in going down there and what not! - jessiesan replies to squeezebeanSame here. I filled out an entry at the NW Women's show at QWEST in Seattle and within a few days, received a message on my answering machine indicating I had won a 100% guaranteed 3 day, 2 night vacation with paid hotel and airfare for 2 adults. After about two other calls, I finally called them back. I was asked if I was married or in a relationship, if I made $35K or more and if I had any children younger than 12 years old. I had actually scheduled an appointment to allow them to "introduce themselves and their service" at VI Passports (14240 Interurban Ave, Suite 132, Seattle 98168). I was told to bring a picture ID like my driver's license and another piece of ID like a credit card (just to make sure it was me they were talking to). If I came to their "showroom" by Saturday, I would receive a limo ride and dinner for 2 (various restaurants to choose from). Kathy was the caller who left the messages and her number (253-520-3697 @ Superior Service). After I spoke with her she wanted her "manager" to confirm my information with me. When he got on the line, he told me I also won an online $500 shopping spree. After I hung up, I googled VI Passports and found this blog site. I called back and the "manager" answered. I told him that I wanted to cancel my appointment. He asked "Why" and I told him I read the internet blogs. I am grateful for this site.
- TC 123I received a call out of the blue. I didn't attend anything nor did I sign up for anything. I also don't give out my real phone number. Still no idea how they found me.
However, my husband & I do travel quite a bit and after listening to the 90 minute presentation, we bought. It is a good deal if you travel once a year or more. We have only taken one trip so far at their resort and it was nice.
The "free" gifts, we never did anything with those. Figured it would cost more than it was worth. I've been to other of time share presentations and they basically wouldn't let us leave unless we said yes. The harder I get pushed, the more I try to flee. But we didn't feel pressured and figured we give it a try We were planning on going to Mexico in a few months, and knew we would spend at least that much. All the employees we encountered were really nice.
I think the people calling probably are just telemarketers stating "you won", but I figured, hey, what else do we have to do tomorrow night and decided 90 minutes was a short time to spend. Their Mazatlan place is nice!- Caller: VI Passports
- Janet| 1 replyI received a call that I won a vacation from an entry form I filled out last year. I set an appointment for my husband and myself to attend last week, we went to the presentation and purchased a membership. I cant wait to goto all of the places I have dreamed of traveling. I don't understand all the negative comments, I guess some people would rather sit and complain instead of experiencing life changing experiences.
