Repeated calls every night

12-14-09 one at 8:30 a.m. PST and 10:40 a.m. PST.  Didn't pick up.  No message left.  They shouldn't be calling my cell number, but these people and all the other scammers do.

This company called me claiming my dad called them seeking information about a charity they represent.  To begin with, my dad doesn't live with me and wouldn't have called them from my number.  Second, if he actually DID call, the company would have asked for "Louis" instead of "Lois."  I simply told the caller the person he was looking for wasn't at my number, and the caller said he would mark it down as a wrong number.

I had been receiving calls from this number for the past month, and after reading this board, decided to answer. They called me three times today alone.
Just as many people here reported, the woman on the line claimed to be from a group I belong to, and began to talk to me about donating. I said I was not interested and to not call again.

The charity I belong to does not call people to elicit more money. I have been a member for two years, and have never received a phone call until this past month. I agree that it appears to be a scam.

I receive a call at least once a day from this number - sometimes two to three times a day. I never pick up and a message is never left. I have registered with verizon for a do not call list and have paid extra to keep my phone number private. How is it that someone or a company has my cell phone number and refuses to identify themselves on a voicemail message. What are they looking for and who are they?

Like others have said, you're getting phone calls from PIC based on a relationship you have had with one of their clients, who have contracted them to telemarket.

Take a look at their website and you will more than likely recognize who it is...I know I did. I went to the source who sold me out and removed my personal information from them.

I do belong to one of the groups on there list. AOPA, but have always gotten phone calls from AOPA directly. This would be the 1st this company has called me. If they call me again, I'll just call AOPA to tell to take me off the list for this company. I don't mind AOPA calling but not this company...

I called back, and they told me that they are APOA.  

I'm not sure how they find which organization you are associated with.

Anyone successfully removed yourself from that list?

Keep getting these calls too. I suspect it's because I am in AOPA and ahve not renewed my membershitp yet.

No message was left on answering machine.

Just like a flamimng "tolerant" Libtard to try to tell evryone else how to run their lives.

They have been calling all day, but now that I know they're a scam I do plan on picking up the next time and giving them an earful.

THEY KEEP CALLING, EVEN THOUGH I LEFT A MESSAGE, ON THEIR MACHINE. IF YOU DO NOT WANT ANY CALLS, LEAVE YOUR NUMBER. THEY LIE... WHY DO THEY HAVE A REAL PERSON, ANSWERING THEIR CALL-INS????

This number has been hammering quite frequently the last week.  First three times, I picked up, no one ever says a thing. Finally just let it ring out now.  They are very predictable on their times though.  It's always within a 20 minute windown after 8:00 PM.  Just checked my caller ID, the times are: 8:26 8:28 8:42 8:48 8:45.

From the responses it seems this company has been at it for years.  It's nice to know our government is on top of this with the "do not call" list. Ha!

Caller ID says Public Interest Co. The woman said she was calling on behalf of the ACLU. This is possible since I did give to the ACLU some years ago, but stopped for personal reasons. The problem is that I told both the ACLU and this outfit more than two years ago to remove me from their contact lists, but they simply refuse. Just when I thought they'd gotten the message, the calls start up again. It would appear that once the ACLU has received money from you they feel they are entitled to more, in perpetuity. They are relentless and engendering serious ill will on my part. And, what's more, even if I did decide to give to the ACLU again I'd go to their website, but I certainly wouldn't give out my credit info. to a voice over the phone. That would be nuts.

You are paranoid. This is a firm that the Not for profit charities use.

They are not going to steal your identity.  However please do tell them if you don't want to be called, to remove you from their list.

Know no one in Utah, I am also on the Do Not Call list for both cell phone and home phone. Since I was laid off I don't answer anything on cell phone.
But on the House phone after 20 calls I decided to answer and it was a dead line. All I wanted to do is tell them they call again and I will file with the FCC

called 11:36 AM ET, rang twice, no message.

They seem to work off the same list as 646-873-6493, fwiw.  Both did the same 'call and hang up' for the first time today.
I'm also on the do not call list.
