I got a call from this number today.  They said they were from ebay and wanted to help with my sales.  I haven't sold anything on ebay in a long time.  Ebay has never once in all the years I've been a member ever contacted me by phone.  I got on a chat with the fraud department over at ebay and they say it's a fraud.  Don't take calls from these people.

Not true-ebay calls power sellers at least once a month for Seller Development. The phone number is legit, you can contact ebay themselves for verification.

Not true at all. Ebay regularly calls Power Sellers for Seller Development and updates. Every phone call they make is then followed up with an email from Ebay. It is a legit phone number, verifiable through ebay.

Im a power seller on eBay (derrickanddawn) and I get calls from them all the time. I would say once a month. Even if you get a call thats fraud or thats real just dont give out passwords. Ebay never asks for them.

Asked them to call me back and they did.  Just wanted to make sure that the number was a real one.  When you call it it is the same voice as their customer service number which is good enough for me.  Not only that but I did talk to someone earlier that day and they said they would call me.  Problem solved.

I have been an eBay seller for over ten years. They use this number for cotacting any eBay user. I have never had a problem, but about every three ot four months, they call me to advise of seller policy updates or to inform me that they are having an upcoming promotion. They always leave a voicemail, no scam, everyone is always polite and informative.

Its eBay. not a scam. I have been an eBay seller for over ten years. They use this number for contacting  eBay users. I have never had a problem, about every three or four months they call me to advise of seller policy updates or to inform me that they are having an upcoming promotion. They always leave a voicemail, no scam, everyone is always polite and informative. Yes its probably a call center but its definitely eBay. If you are signed up on eBay or ever have been, they will probably call you every once and a while. Cheers!

This is not a scam, think about what you are saying.
If you listen to them, they never ask for your account information (phishing) because they already have it. If they aren't trying to get your info or your money, how could it be a scam? The only thing they are scamming is your time.

If you ask for an opt-out you will receive an email FROM EBAY (check the headers--they are legit) explaining how to turn on/off notification preferences.

My problem with this is that my notification preferences are all opted-out/disabled yet THEY STILL CALL ME at 7 a.m.! (I work nights)

There is NO WAY to get removed from this call list.

The name of the company is Convergence. They are a 3rd party/outsource/subcontractor for EBay.
Just google Convergence and Utah and you will find them.

Got a call from this number.  They left my eBay seller name and info on the voicemail.  Problem: It's not my account.

Legitimate or not, they are definitely CARELESS.

I just got a call from this same number too, it's so annoying - I'm thinking it is ebay - but I treat anyone contacting me over the phone/ mail/ etc. without my request the same way - I never answer or respond back. I get calls from ebay once every few months, I don't answer and they just leave a voice message telling me about updates and advising me to open an ebay store instead of just list my items on ebay. When they leave updates, they don't ask for info or to call them back, they just update sellers and close the phone call with "have a great day"... I really wish ebay would ASK sellers if they want to be contacted via phone?? I don't like them calling my cell phone to give me updates I can see for myself every time I sign in my ebay account... all the info is right there in my summary page, I don't need someone calling me to tell me about them... I sell casually on ebay when I have things to clear out of my house, etc. I don't want them calling me. EBAY needs to rethink this strategy before casual users cancel their accounts over this!!! It's enough their seller fees are extremely high!!!! I hate ebay for their greed.. you sell an item for 299 and they charge almost 29 dollars final value fees on top of listing fees... then PAYPAL which is owned by ebay charges you another 11 dollars for paypal fees... Is it fair to sell something for 299 and pay 40 dollars in fees???!!! They are rapists!!! how about they close their telemarketing center that harasses ebay users with useless updates and lower our fees instead?????!!!

I got a call from this # today.  The guy said he's calling from Ebay.  I was aware of this kind of calls.  But he only told me their recent changes on ebay and asked me to try their new shipping systems in near future.  Nothing sensitive.

I got the call but didn't answer as I did not recognize the number.  They guy said he was from eBay and left some innocuous message about what's happening on eBay and never asked for a call back.  Could be a scam but if it is, it's subtle.
