Wrong! eBay calls all the time just to update you on new things and or changes. But you can turn that feature off by opting out.

Just got a call from that number. It was Ebay telling me that part of my listing had been restored.. It is a legit number. I called them last week when I noticed a problem with my listing. Thanks for getting it fixed!!

This call was legitimately directing EBay users to their EBay Partner Network affiliate site to help users direct revenue by posting eBay links on social media.

Ebay will use this number to call you back if you get disconnected during a support call.

My ebay account was hacked. That day, I began receiving calls from this number. I ignored the calls, but the voicemails say that they need to talk to me in order to close my account. I added the number to my block list and erased the voicemails. Do NOT answer this call. It is definitely a scam. Also, double check that your ebay account hasn't been hacked.

So, there's this technology out there called number spoofing.  Clearly, someone of nefarious means learned of this LEGITIMATE eBay number and started using it for their scams.  So, either you received a call from eBay OR from some bad people.  How do you know?  YOU DON'T.  What do you do?  That's up to you.  I recommend not answering it.  If you are an eBay power seller, listen to the VM and verify the info from the eBay website.  If you feel you need to talk to someone, YOU initiate the contact.  If you're stupid, that's on you.
