This number calls 3-4 times per day. I don't have an answering machine, but when I call back to complain, the line is busy.

This number keeps calling around 8:30 pm EST to my number which is in Canada. I looked up the area code and it says its in Salt Lake City, Utah. Anytime we've answered its been a dead line which I know in telemarketing is caused from autodialers ususally. Its when the call gets through and no agents are available yet to take the call.

I got a call from this number. The message said Rachel Levins was calling from Western Research, and wanted to talk to my ex-husband who hasn't lived here in more than 2 years.

phone rings and no voice on other end.  I get this call at least once a month.

I've received 3 or 4 calls from them in the last week or so.  I went to their website & found their contact number which is 801-373-7735.  Then I called them & asked to be placed on their do not call list.  Only time will tell if they do it or not.

Goes to answering machine with a response of "if you'd like to make a call......" Very annoying, always calls at the same time. I left a message to have my number removed as one of the responders on this site advised to do. Hope the calls stop.

it's March 2009 and getting phone recent calls from this number, got caller id and noticed it was from Ogden, Utah.. hmmm if election is over why are they still calling, even though I put my home phone on a DO NOT CALL LIST....

okay this is the first time ive gotten this damn call, but listen dont freaking call out who ever company or place this is. k no one likes being annoyed or answering the call and saying "hello hello HELLO" and no one is there. so leave us ALL ALONE!!!!

Have received several calls in the past few days from this number.  They don't leave voice mail.  Caller ID says it's a Utah Call.  I don't answer but am tired of them calling.

I have an unpublished number for a reason. To have a phone call from someone I don't know & where there is no response when I say "Hello" on my end of the phone. This is no different than getting an illegal crank call , only the caller I.D. shows the caller. I wonder why there is no verbal response when I am called by them , but when I try to call back to find out what they wanted , there is a recording stating who they are & what to do if I got a call by them. In the least , it would have been nice to get that recording to begin with or some other indication other than dead silence & not when I have to call back after getting what most people would consider a harassing & illegal crank call & hang up phone call as if we are back in the 70's & 80's again where having caller I.D. was no luxury to report these nuisance calls. I'm not too worried about it though other than for everyone else. I have call blocking & this number was successfully blocked & so I guess they will have to call me from another number for which I will block too & all other numbers if necessary. Only one call like this so far.That is today. I'm crossing my fingers not to get as many volumed calls as everyone else seems to be getting besides me unfortunately. It was a blockable number & confirmed by my blocking service recording. I'm so glad I have this feature in my phone services. Maybe everyone else getting these calls should consider getting selective call blocking on their lines for some final peace of mind & never getting a call like this from anyone you don't want to hear from ever again for sure. Received call.  Answered by third ring.  No one there, no message left.

Caller called himself "Andrew", sounded British, said he was from ______ Consulting Company (couldn't make out the name).
Apparently didn't realize he was talking to an answering machine, as he asked to talk to me. Knew my name.

received a call from this # last nite around 10p.m. wen i answered there was a long pause wen i said "hello", then the other party hung up. i am wondering if my husband might be having an affair. i have been dealing with a lot of hang-ups... please let me no if anyone has any info. thanx.

Very annoying. I have been multiple hang-ups from this number: 801-823-2023 ...and also 801-823-2028, 801-823-2020. Finally a lady actually spoke to me -- and I got a bunch of manipulation and lies, as you will see...

Having found this web page, I asked her if she was with Western Wats.

She tried to avoid answering the question, saying that it was "not a sales call." I said "So you're NOT with Western Wats?" She said no. I asked what company she did work for. She said that she was with "CRC" and I asked what that stood for and she said "Charlton Research Company." I asked where that company was located and she said "Utah" (which is where Western Wats is located). I asked for the web site address of her company and she said "...You can just go to Western Wats."

I said that the repeated hang-up calls I had received from Western Wats were very annoying and I wished to be placed on the do not call list.

She said "This is the first time I've called this number." I said that might be true, but her company's computers had called me a bunch of times. She said that "It must be a bad connection." Another lie: Just Google "predictive dialer" or" abandon rate".

She tried to go into a pitch about a short survey, and I said "I simply wish to be added to your do not call list. She said again "This is not a sales call," (Is this a delaying tactic, or do companies doing 'surveys' not have to keep a do not call list?).

I said that I really didn't care what kind of call it was, I wanted to be added to the do not call list. She said she would do that and thanked me for my time -- with more professionalism than sincerity.

We'll see if they honor a do not call request.

I don't know if Western Wats and Charlton Research Company are the same, but they appear to be, according to what this rep told me.

Any company considering hiring Western Wats or Charlton Research Co may want to consider the fact that this company seems to have a high abandon rate on calls. If they allow this contractor to use their name, they will deplete the goodwill of customers who get repeated hangups before acually speaking to someone.
