The calls are being dialed by a company called: Opinionology (http://www.opinionology.com)
The company Opinionology is owned/operated by a company called: Survey Sampling International "SSI"
The company Survey Sampling International (SSI) is a member of: the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (www.casro.org)
It says so right on their website: http://www.opinionology.com/summaries/index/content/ask-to-take-a-survey.xml (check #4 Who is Opinionology?)
So supposedly they aren't doing anything wrong and aren't harrassing anyone according to this CASRO.org group, they're "complying with research industry standards, best practices and relevant laws" Their website also says "All CASRO members must adhere to the CASRO Code of Standards and Ethics, the enforceable standard for research businesses for more than 30 years."

This is political survey so they are exempt from Do Not Call.  Calls came from 801-823-2022 and 801-823-2023.

Yesterday I received a call and the guy said they just have a short political survey.  So he asked me my party preference, then asked about California prop 32.  I told him I still have one and a half months to the election, I did not read the prop. and did not yet know if I will be voting for or against.  So then he starts reading the summary of the proposition and asks "yes or no."  I told him I need to do research before I decide.  Then he started reading me the text of the proposition, at which point I hung up and told him that at this point, I would be voting no today as I had no time to read about it.

It was anything by a short call.  But more fun to come as today I received five calls from a woman that apparently does not give up and wants me to finish that survey (I thought I did by saying no at the end).  I requested to be taken off the calling list.  But she kept on calling and calling back.

These calls are NOT SHORT and some of the questions they asked in the beginning sounded as if they bought my name and my phone number and they have to fill out all other blanks on their lists.

Called here and declined to take their poll. Or any other poll ever again.  Why???

Last time I took one, four years ago, I noticed that my "poll taker" asked for opinions about denegrating remarks concerning certain political candidates, and positive remarks for others. It became all too clear that it was a POLITICAL PITCH instead of a true unbiased poll.  Shameless...

I am certain that not all poll takers have an alterior motive of making a political pitch, but that one experience has made me suspicious of them all.  And the fact that this is from Utah: do you suspect it may concern a certain LDS church member presidential candidate 2012 ?? Hmmmm.

Funny...my "pollster" said it was an annonymous poll, but by jove she had my name and number handy when she called me.

I just received a call from this number on my work phone. A man with a strange accent asked to speak to my boss (a pastor). He said that they were polling pastors nation-wide and wanted his opinion on something. I told him I could take a message to which he replied that he was calling through the internet so it wouldn't work and he'd call back later. I'm thankful at least that he wasn't rude.

Go a call from someone with a foreiogn accent asking if I was a radio station, and did I know their number/

Annoying; but it prompted me to sign up with DoNotCall registry.

    Good riddance

They called my home and not my business phone number and I'm guessing their not from Utah at all... the company might be from Utah but the call center is from another country .... Three calls so far and I asked them not to call me again.  All the calls I couldn't even understand what she was saying.... and way too much background noise.   It's a joke.  survey my [***] ...

Phone rang abouy 8:30 P.M tonight, October 2, 2012, which I did not answer because the TV showed it was from Ogden, Utah.  I do not know anyone living there and was watching a show on the TV at the time.
A little kid's voice was asking for me, but an older person said my name because the kid could not remember it or could not pronounce it.  The whole thing is odd because we have an unlisted # and even if they just dialed our # by chance, how did they know my name?  Almost called them back but decided to look it up on the internet first.  Glad I did.

Last week the phone rings, I answer. Informed about who was calling me. I said OK, if you are sure you want my opinion. Guess what I was hung up on - you did not want my opinion. So why did I get two more calls (one confused message on my answering machine) today at 4:22pm & 6:28pm EST!  Companies that make Sunday calls are..........  Thanks 801 823-20022    Grade = Fail

They are calling from www.opinionology.com.  I have not gone to the website as of yet, but this is where they said to go (recorded MSG.) after I called them back.  And I'm on the "do not call" registry!

I got a call from this poll-taking guy. He wanted to know if I was voting for Obama. I told him that it was none of his business and he told me to "Go drown yourself, Lady!". I called him an obscene name that has to do with a big hairy ugly man's rear end with pimples. He replied "You are not dying fast enough, B*tch!" So, I screamed into the phone at him and banged the phone against my kitchen countertop until my hand hurt. I broke my phone. These people owe me a new phone.

We have received several calls (more than 20) from this number at my job. The man said his name was Robert and he was calling from a company that tries to improve phone services but he never stated the company's name. We finally grew tired of his constant calls. I looked his number up and found this webpage. The next time he called I told him, I looked up the number and if he called back I would call the police. No calls after that.
