The same thing happen to me 2 months ago (a different #) I paid it without doing my research. I did take down the person name and phone # but when i called today the # is no longer in services. Now I received a call today (from 813/863-1961) a lady stating that they have been trying to serve me papers to sue me for  $1,329.41credit card that went to collection in 2005(HSBC Bank). She said they were trying to serve me at home but had no luck so they will serve me the papers at work. When I asked for the credit card # because paid this 2 months ago, she said only the Attorney can give me that info and once my case goes back to the Attorney they will not offor me a settlement. She siad they will take me to court and all the court and attorney fees will be added to the case. Please research before you pay anything!!!

I had a message on a friend's parents home answering machine!  I don't even know his parent's phone number!
They called a couple times threatening to take me to court, and send papers to my employer, claimed they contacted me several times at my home.
I took out $300 from a cash advance service over 3 years ago, which they money was automatically debited back to them 14 days later...which I have bank documentation of this.

One guy on the phone was extremely rude, cursing at me, and kept telling me over and over that they would just take me to court, "good luck" and there was no getting out of it.
I called back and talked to 4 separate people, all of which were telling me different things and scenarios that would play out.
The last woman I spoke with, I explained that I had documentation from my bank, my attorney had looked over everything and we knew about this company and the complaints.  She said "oh, you have documentation, well, consider this issue resolved and the matter closed."

They are only trying to scam you into paying them money, though they say they don't take cash, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!!!

Just as everyone else, I have received the same message on two different cell phones that are under a family plan that I have with Sprint.  To my knowledge that is the only thing that has my name accountable for anything, so I will be contacting Sprint to find out just who exactly they are selling my information to and why.  I have spent the last 40 minutes on hold for each of their numbers only to be eventually be sent to voicemail accounts that I did not request.  I would love to talk to them, it just seems that they don't want to talk with me.  Too bad.

I received a message on my answering machine directed to a former occupant of my address...a person who has not lived here for at least 6 years. Just last week I sent an email to a different debt collector who had been calling my home daily, also  trying to contact this former resident.
Anyone who does actually speak with these people and experiences threats, rudeness, etc, should file a complaint under the Fair Debt Collection Practices statute. If this agency actually IS a bonafide debt collection agency they could find themselves fined out of existence...

    Hey,
Just wondering if anything happened with any of your information.  I paid them too, and then realized it was a scam, but they had A LOT of my information, so I thought it was real.  We cancelled the payment, however I am concerned for identity theft.  Please let me know any information.  Thank you.

    Just Annoyed
These idiots called me last week and then they called my EX HUSBAND yesterday!!!  They told me I had a restraining order filed against me (I work in the legal system and no darn well you have to be SERVED) and told my ex-husband I had a criminal matter pending against me.  Criminal?!?!?!  Yeah, right.  DON'T call these idiots back!  So far, I haven't received any other calls, but they will get an earful if/when they do.  I'm not filing with the FTC or state's attorney, since it seems they don't do jack either since there have been tons of complaints according to this thread, and this company is still going strong...

Good for you Dolores! That's awesome! But just to be on the safe side, I would cancel my bank account and get new account numbers for it if I were you. You never know if they'll clean you out in a couple of weeks once you've "forgotten" about it.

Thank you all for this information.  My mother called me today saying last week Special Investagator .... called and I had 24 hours to reposnd regarding a custody issue and a restraining order.  They both used my old married name and a phone number that has never belonged to me.  I have reported this (thank you for the link above) and I plan to not respond to these people.

I recieved the same exact message today and it was left on the home phone at my brother's house.  I am glad that I looked this number up so that way when they try and call back I can let them know that I have filed a claim with FTC.

I closed out my account  after talking my local sherriff department they also gave me a phone number to call so I called the number and it is for the secret service agency so they are investigating this company  to see if they can close them done. At this time all we can do is keep the word going that this company is a fraud   Maybe by word of mouth we can stop it from happening to others

Awesome! It would be great to see at least one of these places go down! I'm glad that you are concerned with not letting this happen to other people. So many people I see post on here just go away when the harrassment stops. Apparently these illegal agencies are pulling in about 4k a day so obviously, they're still finding people who give in to them. I haven't had a call (knock on wood) in about a month but I browse through this site and see if anyone needs any help or answers that I may have. I obviously don't have all the answers but I want to at least try. I can't help but worry that someone's grandparents or elderly parents will get one of these calls someday and allow these dirtbags to wipe out their bank account and/or life savings. These scammers are unscrupulous. They obviously believe that they are above the law. They need to be knocked down a peg or two. And I want to do everything I can to help that happen!

I want the word to keep going so I hope they can be stopped   I keep reporting on facebook to keep it fresh in everyones mind   I even went as far as call ATNT my cell phone company and ask them to spread the word about this company and they were more the happy to help spread the word   I am just hoping to that with the secret service agency will be able to shut them down.  Our locol newspaper also is posting about this company and warning people   I will not go away quietly.  We need more people like you and I that stay on top of this company and others like it to hopefully stop them. Thank you so much for all of your help on this matter
