I just got a call on my work phone from a Haley at Verifax.  She said at the beginning of the call that our conversation was being recorded and then asked for me to confirm my DOB once she said it.  Then she asked if I was a full time employee here and also asked for me to confirm my company's address.  Then she asked for me to provide my title with the company and a cell phone number I could be reached at.  I said excuse me, who am I speaking with?  Then she stated that they make calls for insurance companies to verify peoples personal information and that was all she needed from me.  I've quickly learned my lesson to never give out any personal information to someone who is calling ME and I've not called them. Disgusting!!!

My dad just text me today saying Verifacts/Verifax just called to verify employment what was up.  I searched Google and found this blog.  I text my dad IMMEDIATELY saying do not give them and information about me, not even a yes/no response.  That they are scummy and trying to be sneaky debt collectors.  Thank you for the great information here.

My employer received a phone call from this 'company' and they asked for my social security number. He did not answer any questions. I listened to the message on his answering machine and it said they wanted to confirm full-time employment. Why would they be contacting MY employer... I have not received any calls personally.

Looks like they are more an information harvesting company than a skip-tracing group.  Unpleasant crew at best.

This number called and was relentless about verifying information.  I did not have time to talk with them and they would not give me any information about why they were calling.

They just called my job. Asking for my hire date, full time or part time and told me my birth month and year to verify that it was me. She said they just update info for banks and student loans. What are the outcomes of these people calling? Do they continue to call?

You don't have to give anyone any information over the phone, period.
They are a debt collection agency.
If the law requires you to respond, you will be notified in writing. And even then still, you may not be required legally, to provide any personal information. Until then, don't ever give any personal information to anyone over the phone.
Best thing is to keep your privacy to yourself until the police or the courts come knocking.

DON'T TRUST ANY OF THESE PHONE CALLS!!!
They can legally say almost anything on the phone to get your information and get away with it.
