You are assuming that
  1. a company that has never completed a profitable project,  
  2. and never earned a single dollar for any of its investors,
  3. with the assistance of a company that has never distributed a single movie
  4. will now release a profitable product
  5. that will generate actual proceeds to be distributed
That's a lot of wishful thinking and that is why these types of "investments" are not to be sold to the unqualified, unsophisticated, unaccredited, gullible general population by professional con men who have been receiving unthinkable commissions along the way.

I am a close friend of one of the unsophisticated victims. I actually meet the definition of an accredited investor and as such I am not dumb enough to invest any of my own resources in people with a long history of failures and law violations who get paid a 40% commission regardless of the project outcome. This is exactly why this is not to be sold to the general public.

These posts go back to 2008.  Anyone recieve any payout yet?  Sure everything is happy in the world of OZ per the update call and your money is looking real good  (too them).  Isn't that what con artists do to get your money?  I bet you went to the bank and right after the call and  invested more...Sucker.  Look at the history and if you are in this you are a fool.

Devon, most firms have accountants that handle accounts payable, deposits and so forth.  What should be hired is an independent auditing firm that is reputable.  What do you think they are going to say on these calls?  Of couse all things reported will be rosey.  Wasn't it Karen a while back who questioned why only certain people are invited to be on the calls, and wondered why the calls were not made available for all interested parties to be either included on or listen to later?  When they took the film on the road, did they attempt to contact people in the specific cities who had invested in either Alpine or Oz so all could take a look?  I did not receive a call, an email or any other notification.  Perhaps you are one of the investors who put in a huge amount of money and they feel obligated to include you on the calls.  I certainly hope for all our sakes your positive outlook will be warranted come May 2014 and beyond.  Me, not counting on that so much.

I am a very small investor in DOZ since 2009 and I received notifications when there was a showing in my city. I also receive notifications for all calls. Perhaps they don't have your current contact information.
Do you suppose that all of that all of the professionals who have been involved in the production of this movie, not the raising of money, have been taken in by these con men?

I highly doubt that they did not have my contact information.  It has not changed since I invested.  Each year I received a K-1.  No, I don't think that is the reason.  I am happy that you believe all is well.  I want it to be.  I want to get back some of what I put in, just because it is the right thing that should happen.  But I have not spent the money in anticipation of that.

I know that this has been a long, tedious, painful process. I am tired of hearing Greg talk. I am looking forward to seeing the movie finally being released and hopefully it is successful.

I personally know Greg and his family. The guy is a total fraud, was a snake oil salesman preacher for years as well. Burnt out a mortgage company as well during the banking crisis. They are all about the quick buck. You will see him in jail one day.

Contact the attorney general in Delaware, California, and Nevada.

Emerald of Oz has just files SEC papers. Please read as you will see the milllions that are being pilfered by these scam artist. Protect yourself and contact the attorney general.

They filed with the sec that the already secured 50 million from investors. They already should have an accounting firm. As a member of the llc. I would suggest an audit. I would want 100% accounted for.

Emerald City of OZ originally filed papers with the SEC on 4/13/10. They then filed amended papers on 4/18/11 and then again on 10/29/13. The filing has always been for $70 million.
$15.4 million has been set aside from the beginning for the following use - l5% broker commissions and finder's fees where permitted, 3% other offering expenses, 4% reserve for Company overhead. Is this the millions that are being pilfered?

FYI, what is not included are consulting fees of 20%, for an outrageous total of +/- 40% in commissions. As was correctly stated by Charlie Cowell only green grass goats would invest in something like this, which is why these things are not to be offered to the genaral population by cold calling or by any other method that these conmen can conjure up. Don't let them fool you, that is the reason for the cease and desist orders.

Please help me understand how the company is going to make a profit and return to investors? Does interest in emerald llc. make you a partner in the company? What is the income for this company in the past two years and expenses? I work for an institutional investment company and everyone I spoke to says to stay away.

2. How did you find out about the 20% consulting fees and where are they listed?

You must be fabulously wealthy to not be too upset  about possibly losing money you have invested in something, even if it is a small amount.  

If you go back and read the thread, you will see that someone else asked Dorothy of Oz Scam Expert question # 1 and he/she responded.

I can assure you that I'm not wealthy. As with any risky investment, I am hoping for a nice return but I am prepared to lose my investment.
In truth we won't know who is right until next year at this time when the investors should hopefully start seeing a return.

I already gave an explanation to your first question in an earlier post on November 1st. The answer to  your second qeustion is as follows. The state of MA  busted a con man named McKenna who was stealing from people for several different scams. One of them was Dortohy of Oz. The consulting fee was disclosed as a part of the evidence in the case against him.
