This just proves you don't know anything about this project. The only cost taken out of the Gross Box Office receipts is the movie theaters cut. The gross balance goes to an independent accounting firm which will pay back investors their initial investment plus 20%. After investors have received their 120%, all further gross profits are split by the accounting firm 50/50 with Summertime and the two LLC's. This includes not only the domestic box office but foreign box receipts , virtual world gross profits , apps gross profits  , licensing revenue from music, dvds, pay per view and consumer licensed products.

Now I am not sure what Summertime will do with the gross profit receipts they receive as I am sure they have expenses, so I don't know how Alpine stockholders will fare ,  but the two LLC's have no expense obligations and the funds should flow to the LLC investors. If any investors have a different take or understanding on the above, please chime in as this is the way I understand things to work.

Again, no guarantees that the movie will be a hit, that people will buy the dvd for their kids, that kids won't want to buy Dorothy's boots or a toto stuffed animal or that kids won't go to the virtual world but it could work out. Check back with us this time next year and I'll let you know if it was a good or bad investment. In the meantime, I know you will wish the best for all investors.

I do know all of this, so don't say I know nothing about the project. I listened on all of the calls and talked to people. I am not a stockholder in Alpine but I did invest in the two LLC's.

And as I have been saying all along, we all hope that the project is successful and that we receive our 120% come the 4th quarter of this year and that we are part of a successful investment that will pay for years to come.

    Fubs,

You're in over your head because you don't even know what an accredited investor is. Anybody with even an inkling of financial sense knows what it is. Bottom line investing in this type of investment is illegal unless in you an accredited investor. The due diligence for compliance is with the principles of the company, and obviously they don't care. People look at the managers track records, simply google their names, and see what comes up. Where there is smoke there is fire.

I also know the family of one of the principles very well, trust me stay away or recoup any money you can

    Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return
    Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return

Starring Dan Aykroyd, James Belushi, Kelsey Grammer, Lea Michele, Martin Short, Patrick Stewart, Megan Hilty, Bernadette Peters, Hugh Dancy. Directed by Daniel St. Pierre, Will Finn. Written by Adam Balsam, Randi Barnes.

Hollywood seriously needs to stop trying to make Wizard of Oz spin offs. Recently Oz the Great and Powerful was released, which was painful to watch, and now a new animated 3D Oz film, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, has officially killed any hope for a decent film about the mythical world to become a reality. The film follows Dorothy as she returns to Oz to save the land from the “Joker,” the unknown brother of the Wicked Witch of the West. This time, the classic characters of the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion are captured, and Dorothy is accompanied by a new cast of clowns that are dreadfully irritation. Despite the growing love and popularity of Lea Michele, Dorothy, I cannot stand her voice, and listening to it for two hours was unpleasant, to say the least. The decent cast led me to expect a cute, decent kid’s movie, but it was just bad. Showing this film to your child will just spoil his or her experience with kids’ films, and leave you in a sour mood.

Something suspicious about this "review"  , can you post a link so it can be verified. Also - it's "Jester" not "Joker".

'Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return' Trailer Looks Like a Childish Mess

    Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return
In what looks like a film that escaped the bargain bin at Wal-Mart, we have a new trailer for the delayed animated sequel Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return. With animation that feels unfinished and cheap, a surprising all-star cast that includes Lea Michele ("Glee") along with veteran actors like Patrick Stewart, Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, Kelsey Grammer and more populate this film which sees Dorothy Gale's (Michele) return to the magical land of Oz, where she reunites with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion (along with some silly new companions) to face a new threat, the Jester, who is trying to control Oz with the wand of the Wicked Witch of the West. Yeah, sounds pretty damn stupid to us.

New trailer for Will Finn & Dan St. Pierre's Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return, originally from Yahoo:

Directed by Will Finn & Dan St. Pierre and written by Adam Balsam & Barry Glasser (from Roger Baum's book), Dorothy of Oz features the voice talents of "Glee" star Lea Michele as Dorothy (who will get to use her singing voice as well), Patrick Stewart, Martin Short, Oliver Platt, Dan Akyroyd, Kelsey Grammer, Hugh Dancy, James Belushi, and more. The film has been hyped for a couple years now, and was once slated to arrive this year, but Clairus Entertainment has plotted it for release May 9th, 2014

ok, this one looks like a legit review. But it looks like the one above by reviewed was a fake one, which was my point , because these are two totally different reviews.

Like any movie, there will be good and bad reviews , I've seen both for this movie. Even though I'm not a big OZ fan or animated movie fan , I do think the latest trailer looks pretty good and think kids will like it. And I thought the animation actually looked pretty good.

Not sure if this reviewer has an agenda - start with his comment "delayed animation sequel"  - he is putting a negative tone on his review right from the start. Plenty of movies are delayed , even by big studios like Disney. They he goes to "silly new companions"  - hey , these characters were in the book that the movie was based on so that is why they are there. Are they any less "silly" then some of the characters in other animated movies? And he finished off with "yeah, sounds pretty damn stupid to us" - yea, sounds as stupid as a "Frozen " city , or a land of "LEGO", or a university for "Monsters".

I'm no math wiz, but with an expected gross revenue of approximately $4M (1/2 of which will stay at the theaters) how will investors be paid back $70-100M? From all the merch and DVD sales? Will WalMart and Target clear their shelves of Disney merch to make space for trinkets from a movie that relatively few people saw?...maybe not. The next round of excuses could be more entertaining than the scathing reviews.

All of a sudden a number of posts have disappeared from this thread-none that were inflammatory but made observations someone did not like.  The movie has been terribly reviewed, is apparently not in wide release and had a less than stunning weekend at the box office.  Those are facts.  So what's next?   As was asked above will toy sales be sufficient to get us investors in Alpine/Summertime/Oz a return?  How does Alpine et al. overcome the bad reviews to make people want to go see the movie if it is being played near them?
