It turned out to be "Avante" - a collection agency.

I told them they have the wrong number and the lady said she would remove my number but yet I am still getting calls from them.

I think the first big clue in this recording is that you must return a long distance call. No creditor would require that. I have never been contacted for any late payment that didn't ask me to return the 1800 call to an agency I could immediately identify.

I am getting the same calls but they are going to family members. They are telling my family that I have not lived there in years. It's weird but I have no outstanding debt.

I meant to say they're calling my family members looking for me and I have not lived at home for years. Weird, but I don't owe any debt.

I have gone on the no calls list because of this company.  Will report to FTC on this Avante number again because they won't stop calling--this time a "Tom Jacobs" left a call back number of 832-476-1740 but the printed number on my voicemail was 832-476-1739 and Tom said he was a debt collector.  I have no debts with Avante.

Not planning to call back as its probably a scam - no details were provided. My advice from a really informative website I found:

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

   Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

   If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
   Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
   Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

What can we do to get them to stop. They called my place of work and home and left this harrassing message on the phone.  A co-worker of mine took the call.  It was embarrassing.

Demand a legitimate, physical address in which to send a cease communication letter (VIA certified mail, with return receipt requested), instructing them that your employer does not allow these calls--and they are to either contact you at home or VIA USPS. This is your right under the FDCPA.

I have never heard of this company and they seem to have some of my personal information.

    Received several calls from Avante USA (phone # 832-476-1739) and the person that I spoke with became very belligerent when I insisted that he identify himself. He eventually said that his name was Mr. Peterson.
    I have no outstanding bad debt.  If anyone know how to sue such a company when the company is out of state from where you are located, please post the guidelines.

Call made to my cell phone.  No message left.  I  have no idea who this is or what company it might be.  Based on what I've read  line it may be a debt collection company (AvanteLTD???), based in the Houston, Texas area.  I owe zero $ to  no one; therefore, my number may have been dialed in error, or else there is something "fishy" going on!  Why do I suspect it is he latter?

got a call today from this number, no message left.  This happens about every other month and they are not even looking for my family.  i will not answer the call

They called my phone and got the voice mail, they failed to leave a message. So, I have to play guessing games on whom they are and who they are trying to reach. I have no association with them. I was reading on other sites one person claiming that there a rep of " Avante " saying that " Pell Grants need to be paid back. No they don't only student loans and that isn't until after graduation and can be put on hold while your unemployed.
I blocked them on an App since they didn't feel the need to be polite to leave a message. The App I use is Privacy Star.I googled the number to try to solve the puzzle of whom they are.

I recieved a call from them today but there was no message left and soon as I heard the name of the company I hung up and did some research. Thanks but no thanks no need to talk to them

they have wrong person and wont leave me alone,i think these collection agencies just go thru phone book looking for name..

Ignore this number, and delete their voicemails. It's the same voicemail recording as previous others have reported on here. Most likely a fraud

You said you were from Anthem  and calling about my new health plan. You requested all personal info from me before giving info. Told you I would call back and you hung up. I can't believe I answered, then checked here. It's usually the other way around.

But I called Anthem and let them know what's going on in my situation and many others.
wow, they know your name and are familiar with you. Looks like I'm not the first to complain, and since they were hacked recently anyone in this Anthem breach should be aware.
