- Melissa replies to MelissaThey called me back today asking why I left a message yesterday. I did not leave a voice message call yesterday as the number said leave a message. When I spoke with her today I told her this was a scam and said fine if that’s what you believe. She became rude and I said do not call back. I called the number back somebody else answers and I hung up. She again called me yelling saying that they are taking me to court. I said do not call or I will contact my local police. Again a call comes in he says he’s a supervisor I said I do not want to speak with him this business is a scam etc... I once again sai I will contact local police and he said fine we can call together... wow scammer 250.00 out of me!

- Julie| 1 replyDeborah "Smith" and a Miss Ferguson..both are rude, called me to work repeatedly after being told NOT to. Also I have explained to the company, Evolution Media, that I do not owe the debt they are accusing me of owing..and it is a debt that they claim was from 2009. Said it is on my credit report (it isn't) and said it was from a credit card but couldn't tell me the original complainant. I don't know if they are scammers or just don't have the correct information but they refused to send me paperwork on this "debt" I owe. Anyone who can't send me papers will never get my paper. I'm contacting my family attorney.
- Caller: Evolution Media
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- lkmeche replies to JulieThey are a total scam. They are trying to collect debts that are already paid. Tell them to contact your attorney.
- DCBoy replies to They Are a Fake Company| 9 repliesAccording to InsideARM (who should know), the State of Georgia does not require licensing or bonding in order to collect debt in that state. There are, however, some type of fees to be collected. Here's the info from InsideARM:
License None
Bond None
Fees Required - ChrisMCalls coming from 509-394-4996 (WA.) Left message about a "case number" & a call back number of 833-781-8175. Junk debt collection scam. I've blocked them.
- Caller: ? Mediation Group
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- They Are a Fake Company replies to DCBoy| 8 repliesEvery business should be registered in the state(s) that they operate in, regardless of their business type. Especially when Evolution Mediation Group says they are an LLC, they would need to file articles of organization and have a registered agent on file with all states that they operate in. It's correct that Georgia does not require any additional licensing or bonding to operate as a debt collector, but the business needs to be registered. Their website says they operate nationwide. My state of residence, Michigan, does require additional licensing to collect debt. Evolution Mediation Group is also not registered or licensed in Michigan. It's pretty obvious that they are not a legitimate debt collector, and are just perpetrating a scam against unsuspecting consumers. They don't send anything via mail. They don't respond to written correspondence. The certified letter I sent them has been sitting at their "address" since September 16 awaiting pickup. Additionally, I spoke with the owner of the building their office is supposedly in. He has no record of them as a tenant. They're just pulling a scam.
- BigA replies to They Are a Fake Company| 2 repliesBoth websites went up the same day and were constructed by the same company. Interestingly that company in a part of New York that is considered to be the world's #1 capital for criminals pretending to be debt collectors. I am assuming you already filed a report here?

County: Dekalb - BigA replies to They Are a Fake Company| 3 repliesI am a little confused about one point. You say that you send a certified letter on Sept. 16th, correct? The Post Office makes 3 attempts at delivery over 20 or 21 days and then returns the letter. You say that you have not received it back yet? It has been 44 days since you sent it. Did someone sign for it? How do you know it is "awaiting pickup"?
- They Are a Fake Company replies to BigA| 1 replyYes. I have filed a report with both the Michigan and Georgia Attorney General, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Better Business Bureau, for good measure. I've also alerted my local news, as well as Fox 5 Atlanta. I am still awaiting a response from the Michigan AG, but every other place I have filed complaints with hasn't really resulted in much help. So at this point, I just hope that people can be made aware that this is not a legitimate debt collector before they give their hard earned money to them.
