- SusanThey have called my cellphone multiple times. Noone ever speaks - there is just a click sound, and then it hangs up. It's a total nuisance.
- NigelCaller with heavy foreign accent said she was from Statistics Canada and asked if we would answer some questions. No ID on phone, no badge number provided. Even if it’s legitimate Stats Can can pound sand as far as I am concerned. I had one huge bad experience with them and it took a letter to my MP to get them to stop harassing us. They will never get any info from me and I advise others do the same.

- StacyI pretty much get it everyday even on weekend with no voice msg left. I have called StatCanada, the staff told me if they need to contact me, they would leave a reference number in voice msg. Since the number is calling on weekend, it’s definitely not StatCanada. I got the call after I filled Census.

- ElleHad a call from number above, left a voicemail. They stated their name and provided a reference number. Stated another agent would call back if I don't call. It was at 12:30pm on a Sunday, and the number they told me to call back on, was different than on their website. Was told to call 1-833-720-2021. I called the number online (1-833-340-2021) and spoke to an agent. The call was legit, and they needed information on a specific address (where I no longer reside), so they took my number off the file for that address.

- Randall| 2 repliesThis is pure scam and my grandmother lost $7500. They pretend to be from the census and then say you didn't complete it as required by law and you have to pay or else the police will arrest you. My grandmother lost $7500. Dirty people.

Let's be clear. This 833-877-8287 does NOT show on the official STATCAN website. See here:
https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/reference/refcentre/index?MM=as
Even if the number shows, where is the "STATSCAN?" Something to identify that STATSCAN is calling?
If Statistics Canada was calling YOU, they would call during official business hours/days.
If Statistics Canada was calling YOU, the caller ID would show STATSCAN or something similar.
If Statistics Canada was calling YOU for another survey, they would give you their name, serial number, their legit government phone number where you can call them back.
Let them send you a LETTER if this is a legitimate caller. There are too many SCAMMERS and we must be careful who we give our private information. They don't need your driver's licence, your Social Insurance Number, your Passport number, etc., etc., for a SURVEY.
The government has all your information. Why would they ask you to verify this information?
They wouldn't! Don't get suckered into these professional scammers!!!!!
Don't get suckered by ANYONE who calls and claims they are from Revenue Canada or STATSCAN. Take their number and name and call them back. Do your research before you give out any information. Tell them to send you a legitimate letter with phone numbers, names, etc. They already know your address!
Unfortunately, we can't trust anyone these days, including the Liberal government.
Never give personal or private information to anyone over the phone. You tell them you will call them back through proper Revenue Canada main number channels -- this way you will know they are legitimate callers.
Be wary. Be careful. Do NOT give ANY information to anyone over the phone. Call them back but make sure you call legitimate numbers from a government website or legitimate documentation.- Caller: FAKE REPRESENTATIVE

When she said 30 minutes for the questions, I said will you pay me for my time? ANS: NO. In this world where we are getting tracked constantly, they want to know about your internet usage??
They want 30 min worth of free information? They are asking for too much. They should at least offer to send you the numbers off a Green Dot gift card. (/s)
