They want 30 min worth of free information? They are asking for too much. They should at least offer to send you the numbers off a Green Dot gift card. (/s)

I got the same call today!!

They actually left me a message today and so I emailed the actualy website to ask if its a legit number

Even if it is a legit number, scammers could still be spoofing it.

My brother received the call from this number 8339778287 and looking for me and leave a reference # from statistics of canada.,thinking it was urgent or a clarification to the survey that i recently filled out , i called that number around 8:30 in the evening and someone answered with statistics canada as the greetings…i am already in doubt why a government agency still open at 8:30 pm? And asking so many questions that already been asked from the survey they sent.

These folks have called me a couple of times at my work number.  From the posts and my research it sounds like they might be legit.  However, it does not sound like they are calling for business reasons.  The message they leave says literally translates to, "Hey, we called.  Call us back."  This is not a good enough reason to call them back even if they are a legit.  I just wish I could block the number now so they stop cluttering up my inbox.

this is 3 or 4 times now this number has called me and today was the first time the left a message.. she left her name and reference number and told me they was open normal working hours and also evenings and weekends to help out the working people!!! don't know.if I should call back or not

Why would you call back a scammer?

some of those comments are saying it real and some are say it isn't don't know what to do..

Contact whomever this caller claims to be at a known phone number (check their official website) and ask them if they called you.

They kept calling 2 times daily  for more than a week till I have them blocked . After a few weeks later, they started calling again. Very annoying.  It is really ridiculous. These people should be arrested for making such disturbance. They have no rights of doing this.

It appears that this is a government survey.  Surveys are allowed per Canadian law.  Since no law was or is being broken then no arrests will be made.

Must be a scam for sure. Got 2 calls today from this number only now they say they're from public health.

Starting again with unwanted calls

The thing is everyone saying it's StatsCan- you do realise that stats can would display in the caller ID if this was a govt organization legitimately survey for information? If they want people to pick up they would be expected to display their caller ID in full.

I switched to speaking French. Heavy East Indian accent stats Canada rep couldn't understand. Asked if I need a translator. I said no, if you have a government position you have to know French.
