LOL! This is a total scam. I actually turned the tables on them a bit and told them I was working with the FBI and FTC on an active case against them and the call was being traced. Then I said that federal agents were on their way and that if she's lucky, she'll have just enough time to grab her sh*t and run before they arrive. LMFAO! It was so funny, and she said she would personally have me arrested and then hung up on me. I wonder if she really thought federal agents were raiding her building. I figure if we have to deal with these [***] calling us on a daily basis, we may as well have a little fun :)

It's great you didn't fall for the scam.  Of course, they didn't fall for your scam either, since they knew you were NOT working with the FBI or the FTC, mostly since the FTC does not get involved with these cases.  And just like you know that no one will call to warn you about being arrested, they know if you were part of an investigation, you would not be sharing that fact with them.  NRS has a long and ugly history on this site, and the sad truth is, they are better at scamming than you  are at scam fighting.

So at best, you slightly worse off than when you started.  How? You talked to them, they know you are willing to engage them on the phone, and you don't have call blocker.  They will keep calling.   And by playing with them, you have in essence, invited and challenged them to play with YOU.   Being crooks, they can call you as often as they like.  They can get pretty nasty about it too.

I am not busting your chops, you really did good to recognize the scam.   I am hoping that you and other people reading this will think things through before talking to and baiting professional scammers.  If you want to really piss them off, there are some ways you can do that,  ways that are much more rewarding.  You will have to talk to them to get the info you need, and pressing them for info, when you know HOW to do that, will aggravate them.   The lesson is:  Kiddy games get no gains.  Fight 'em smart.    Peace

You are so right Gunnar!!  I received several calls from this number this past week all claiming to have a claim against my SSN and that they are from a ARBITRATION department from a Payday loan service, stating that I owe money for a loan that I never had, before 2010.  Hello??? It is 2016!!! I havent moved, had same phone number.  I refused to give my number until I see VERIFICATION of this loan, he refused and told me to have a good day in court.  Two days later, same thing!!  I checked with the local police department and was told of course that this is a scam.  I checked with my bank and they have no records of this transaction and I checked with the courthouse and nothing has been filled against me and they also said that this is a SCAM!!!  Here is a piece of advice if they call back...have a POLICE WHISTLE handy and when they start talking to you about this matter...give them a BIG BLAST FROM THE WHISTLE!!!  Make sure you purchase a LIFELOCK membership!!! It is the best money you will ever spend!!

I paid on online check pay back in 2012. For $300.00. A year later got threatening call I didn't pay. Due to fear PD again. Its now 5 years later. They've sold my file to 10 different scam companies. They have called family and boss. Don't know they got info. They've all made demanding and very threatening calls. Spoke to endless managers to stop this. Nothings stopped yet. I don't know what to do.names always change. They sound like overseas and in sweat shops.
