This number calls everyone and their brother looking for me, but my number has been the same for 15 years and they don't or won't call me? Seems to be b.s.  idk?

I have called the number, only once did someone answer saying.... Legal Dept? No info? No name? No nadda?

Someone contacted my mother-in-law, looking for someone with my maiden name and threatening to serve me with legal papers. I haven't gone by that name for 30 years. When I called the number this number that they said to call, there was no answer. What kind of scheme or phishing expedition is this?

It is a scam. The case number that they give is to short and not a legal case number. DO NOT give them any of your information. If someone was suing you, they would just serve you and not call to threaten before hand.

They've called me 5 times with the same bull [***] all the rest are saying they threaten to send papers and won't even say what the hell it is

They called me saying they had tried to serve me a legal summons twice and that I was not available. I am to call that number with the case number  before they issue aa legal summons. I asked what address they are trying to serve me and they gave an old po boxx address from 8 years ago in a county I haven't lived in for 8 years, I didn't correct the address they stated or the town. Can't think of any reason for being served.

Called my Uncle saying I have a civil suit coming up. Claimed to have mailed me something 45 days go.  I'm not even calling.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I'm going to report it, again, but also have my back check out my credit report, as well as change my passwords. These guys are losers and I can't wait for the newscast that shows their ugly faces and fat stomachs as they're sentenced to a life of bars, other losers, and dry bologna sandwiches.
