Thank u! When i called b back the voicemail actually instructed callers to leave their SSN. It sounded fishy so i came online to do some research. They called me at work. Thank u for this info so that i may ask them to send a letter to verify their identity.

If they left a message or talked to you already, they are required to send that letter out without you having to ask.  But if you want to tell them to anyhow, no problem.  Just remember that as soon as you get that letter, you should send them a debt validation letter, that way they have to validate the debt with the original creditor in order to prove to you that they have the legal right to collect it, and that you actually owe the debt.  This debt validation letter should be sent certified, return receipt and also first class mail.  This is all detailed at the CFPB website along with sample letters.

Scam Alert! Called me three times now and when I agreed to a low payment he got mad and hung up on 2 phone calls. today he called again and I called him out and told him to get lost.

Same thing today! They refuse to send it in the mail! Why do they do this!?

They are crooks trying  to harass you and scare you into paying a debt you do not owe.  The have no proof of the debt, so they can't send anything.  Remember, A Call is NOT legal notification of a Debt!!

Got a call several months ago using the 844 number.  Today, my son and I got calls from Northwood Asset Management Group again about a breach of contract.  This time the number in my cell was 818-616-6051, but the msg asked that we return the call to 855-909-0440.  Has anyone else received a call from this number?

I received a call from the Northwood Group (Sam Smith) 844-745-3368. He first contacted my sister after he had left me several messages on my voicemail. I do owe a debt to Check N Go but I do not owe the amount of money he is asking me to pay. They have not sent me anything in writing to validate the debt. I will wait for the letter.

I asked for same and the lady from the NAM Group started arguing with me.

Yes, it is a scam. They called and tried to get me to verify my social security number and date of birth. Would not tell me why or what their company does. Do not give them any info.

I've received several calls from a Tony Stark. He claims I have a loan, since the beginning of the year, through Ace Check Cashing. WRONG!! I informed him I would not send anything, money, information, or agree to pay, until they send me documentation showing signatures on the loan documents. I have never, ever, ever, ever had a loan through this company & want to see proof of what he's claiming. He called back today, as a courtesy call, to inform me the documentation had been ordered & as soon as it arrives they will give me another "courtesy call" to discuss.  There's nothing to discuss! I do not or ever have taken a loan through this company. Once we receive the documents we'll verify this & they can move on to the next client.

These idiots call me every single day from different numbers.

The same woman calls for multiple people, using multiple names, and the same case number.

They like to spoof their calls now.. so it shows up as a local area code.  I unfortunately answered and she screamed at me over a "furniture loan" (which I do have... but it's definitely NOT in default!), demanding I pay $3000.00 immediately and proceeded to call me a thief.

When I hung up on her, she left a very threatening voicemail about "other actions" and having "no choice but to take them".

15 minutes later, my sister got the same call from her looking for me. Telling her to "tell her thieving sister to call them back or else."

"Mark Anderson" called me back in Feburary looking for my fiance saying he was from the pre legal department working on a case that came upon his desk that is a complaint & needs him to call back by the next day for a statement & to show employment verification because he's also a case manager & his client needs to know which direction they need to go in. Which one is it mark?! And how did he find my number that's a new # but will never call my fiance! Cool! Told me to call him Back in a 726 area code but called from a 916 so he can try to get me to answer a local call. Its 2018. No one answers calls from random numbers. Local or not. Get it together "Mark"!

Got a call from James Davis stating the same thing. What can I do

Have received two calls looking for a "Vicky" Williams.  Williams is our last name.  We do not know a Vicky.  Very stern message from a woman stating that this is the second call and it's regarding an audit that is directly related to your social security number and banking information.

Scam do not respond!

Called from 971-285-4981, Mr. Starks from Northwood AMG wanting me to call back at 716-332-7924 about case number 592-652.  Hummm... called back to a very generic voicemail system.  Pretty sure I'll get more calls after reading this.

Lucky I look numbers up first found these post needless to say I told them they were fraudulent and also when" David"answered he couldn't even get the company names correct he tried to say a different name I told him what you do forget what LIE you just told . I told his reference# was 1800 eat ****.😄
