Received many calls from this number on my landline over the past 4 years.  Always the same message from Mark Wallace about a complaint filed against "Nicholas Lynn".  They never stop.  I don't ever answer them and I have no idea who this person is that they're looking for.

Called requesting "all information" with regard to one of our employees.  Stated they would "turn the employee over to the proper authorities if we did not return the call."   Sounded like prerecorded message.  We ignored it.

I'm getting the same message everyone else is getting from caller Mark Wallace, but he's also called my minor child and husband looking for me.

CWG40 has posted information that you should be reading on page 2.  Another reason to read all the posts in a thread since you never know where one might be that tells you what you need to know.

If he's calling a minor child, you might consider making a police report for child abuse.  I'm quite serious about this.   No one should be allowed to call anyone's minor child.

I just received a call that was sent straight to my voicemail (must have blocked this number prior) and my experience was the same as the above comments. It was a Mark Wallace asking for a family member with their name said via an automated voice recording. However, to my knowledge no one in my family is in trouble with the law. I say if it's legit then they can go ahead and contact the authorities and let the lawyers figure it out. I think it may be a scam. Either way I'll keep blocking and rejecting these calls.

Try calling back. Harress them back. I was told mark Wallace was assisting another customer. Told them I would hold for as long as needed. They hung up. Called back and asked for Mark and was told that he was just an automated voice. Now, Seriously thinking about harassing them every day

A better use of your time, if you are going to be doing that, would be to try to get as much information out of them as possible so that they could be reported.  Address, company name, etc.  Then also post it here so that we can do further research on them.

If you call this Mike Wallace you can not speak to him the lady said she has to know who she is transfering!  In my better judgement I said Barrack Obama and she told me have a good day and hung up. So I called right back and magically they knew my name I asked to speak to mike again and they had informed me he was not in. So one says can't without a name the other says not in so I'll call again in a few since it's my day off why not! Oh and like others this is in regards to my mom and they don't have a number for her? Yeah it was a good effort over there in whatever countries I spoke to

    Report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment[/b]

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

Exact same thing is happening to me. My ex-mother-in-law called me yesterday and played a message from Mark Wallace. I have been divorced for 8 years! Same guy calls from a different number constantly for a week every few months.

What is FTC? I would like to contact someone about this scam to get them to stop calling me. They not only call my cell phone but they also call my house phone back to back. It's really annoying and I know I don't owe anyone any money from years ago, especially to a unknown loan company. These threats are out of control. I just blocked their number on my cell but don't know how to block them from my house phone.

This Mike Wallace calls me everyday on my house phone and cell phone back to back. This has been going on for the last 3 months. Supposedly I owe money from years ago when I lived in another state. I don't know who to report this to in order to file a complaint. Can anyone tell me who to go to, to file a complaint? I just now figured out how to block the number on my cell phone but still trying to figure out for my house phone.
