A Katrina Andrews called my cell phone and left a message with my name, SSN, a nebulous claim number but no name of any court (although she threatened to forward the documents to my jurisdiction), and no details on what the issue is about.  Threatened court action if I did not call back.  Very unprofessional:  she was leaving a message and talking to her friends in the background at the same time.  Name of company is Wintersburg, McMichael & Associates; address listed at 8600 Sheridan Drive, Williamsville, NY.  No other mention of them on the web anywhere except their web site and the address listed on the site belongs to a Clarence/Sheridan Medical Center, Buffalo, NY.  Very shady.  I will not be calling back.

Buffalo, New York - a hotbed of bottom feeding debt collectors.    This sounds like the scam of threatening court action for a non-existent debt.  IF you really had a problem, you would be notified by mail or by a process server.

I got several threatening messages from Winterburg, McMichael & Associates telling me they were going to send me to court if i didn't call them back asap. They called my phone several times in a row so i finally answered. He tried to get me to give him card information over the phone for a debt that i don't have. He was very persistent and pushy all while insisting he was only trying to do me a favor. I tried several times to tell him i would look into it and call him back and he kept insisting that if i didn't give him card info right now the deal wouldn't stick and he couldn't give me the same deal later if i called back. I told him i would take my chances, and i got off the phone. i pulled my credit and there was no such debt on my credit, so i decided that i was not going to worry about it. This morning he called back telling me it was my last chance  to settle with him or he was turning it over to the courts. kinda funny since he told me yesterday that i HAD to do it right away or he couldn't help me! I will not be calling them back, I'm confident that nothing will come of it.

I got a call today from a guy named Jonathon Stone. He claimed I owed for an unpaid credit card bill from the early 2000's. It was with a bank I knew I'd never gotten a card from but he was VERY convincing and super nice. I believed him but was a little suspicious I hadn't received anything in the mail. The bill that was originally over $5,000 was down to $1,000 something if I paid it in full. He even said that our accounts would be frozen and the court fees would be astronomical if we chose to go to court instead of pay immediately (or by the end of the day). Luckily my husband told me not to pay and I looked into it more and after calling an attorney found out these scams are pretty common.

i received a call from 844 886 5594.  the name of the company was winterburg mcmichaels and associates in reference to a credit card debt i had in the early 2000s. they said i owed 4000 and they would accept 1000 to close the case. i paid them with my debit card over the phone . i filled out a form authorizing the payment and they emailed me a letter showing my account was now closed with a zero balance.i have dealt with collection calls in the past and this one was really no different from the rest.as far as being a scam i wouldnt know because i knew this credit card was in collections and i knew i owed it.

You just gave an unknown caller $1000 because he said you owed it???

Did you get WRITTEN validation of this so-called debt???  Phone calls & emails mean nothing.  I suggest you put an alert on your bank account.  A debt should be out of the statute of limitations after 14 years.

Callers from this number are FRAUDS!  Need proof? Simply DEMAND a notice of validation by MAIL. NOT e-mail or fax. As per federal regulation under the FDCPA. That's it! It's just that simple. The callers from this number will NOT supply one. Nor will they provide an actual physical address to their "offices". If they supply any kind of an address it will be a box at a UPS store or other mail drop.

rec'd a message from a Katrina, she did not leave any information as to whom she was leaving the message for.  She was obviously reading a written statement, she stumbled multiple times over the words.  Never stated amount of debt or whom the debt was owed to.  Left a return phone number, did not call back.  I have not received any information in mail (written) from this company.  checked my credit report and there is no debts owing, so will not be returning this call.

I received a message today from this number and a Jennifer Mitchell. She said she would file papers with my local court but did not give a name or address of who she was calling. I of course would never answer phone calls like this and would not conduct any business over the phone. What was interesting is on the voice mail it gave a return number of 000-000-0000. There was number left in the message to call back of 844-886-5594.

They say they are located at this address :

(But they are most likely spoofing the address)

Why would a debt collector business be located in a medical center unless it is renting bootleg space.    Looks to me like a total scam operation.

These people keep calling with threatening messages and I would like them to stop harassing our family.  Why are they not being investigated and charged with fraud?

Just got a message from this number and it sounded very serious and I was a little worried but knew I have no debts that would require court action. Even went as far as saying he would like to talk to me or my lawyer. And that he (his "firm") was hired to investigate my case and even gave a case number. These peeps have gotten pretty good. Good thing I googled the number and all this came up. Won't be calling back....

I got a call today from Johnathan Stone. He said there was litigation underway for a debt collection. I asked him for his information and he gave it all willingly.

I then asked him to provide me with proof of the debt. He sent me two pdfs via email neither provided proof. I called an attorney who advised me to write to them asking for written proof and also follow up with a phone call if I wanted.

So I called back and asked him for proof of the original debt. He then told me that it would cost $8 per page of the affidavit and went on and on about how this would cost me money.

I simply said to him: "I'm not going to pay you for a debt you can't prove."

He put me on hold and then came back and said he would call me back in an hour or so. As he was about to go into a meeting with the "attorney in charge of the case".

Total freaking waste of my day. I have to say it did get me though especially when I heard there was a case against me. Oh the other thing is that he denied he was a bill collector.

So I said to that if you are not a bill collector why are you trying to work out a deal with me?

got the call from Jennifer Mitchel calling from 844 8865594.  Said that someone filed an affidavit with my name and ss# about a complaint.  But did not give me info as to what the claim was or anything real.  Sounds like a scam to me.  I owe nothing.

I just received a call from a mark Goldstein who stated that he was calling in reference to a debt with my name and ss#, but it was strange cause he wanted a call back from me or my legal representative but did not tell me what the debt was.. Also said that he would forward info to my local jurisdiction.. Another red flag was that the debt he is calling about is under my maiden name and I've been married for over 7 years!!! So is this a scam or shots I be concerned

i would probably call back and see what it is all about.just because they are collecting on a debt doesnt mean its a scam.i agree that their practices arent the best but theyre probably not just pulling your name out of hat and calling u . see what they have to say and ask for something in writing

I received a call early this morning at 7:30am-illegal.  He wanted to know my name.  I replied with what is your name-he refused.   I asked him to state his business-he refused.  I stated that his phone call was illegal at pre 8:00am and he hung up.  These people are not even good at being scamsters.  I called back several times and they refused to provide me with any of their info and hung up.  You be the judge.  If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, looks like a duck, it's a duck.  I doubt If these people will be around another month until authorities catch up with them, then they reopen with different info.
