If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the [***] are working out of now.

Yeah, except that the phone number these bottom feeders is calling belongs to my 10yo daughter and has for a year.  The person they are trying to reach at my daughter's number we do not know. So, your " If you didn't have debt you probably wouldn't get the call" is plainly false.  

They also attempted to present their account number as if it were a real case number and threatened legal action - but they skirted the FDCPA in the message they left by not clearly stating that this was a phone call to collect a debt.
He also said affidavit of complaint had been completed - which basically means nothing.  Any idiot can fill out an affidavit of complaint and have it notarized.  BUT they use this language to attempt to sound like attorneys instead of bottom feeders.

If you paid when they called, what you paid was probably an uncollectable and unactionable debt that they had no recourse other than empty threats like these.  Suckers like you are the reason bottom feeders like this remain in existence.  Thanks for paying for some idiot to call my 10yo daughter.

An Ashley Miller called me from 858-623-5577 (said she was a national locator service), saying since she can't reach me she will serve papers at my work or home. She said to correct this matter for me to call 844-886-5594. Nothing about trying to collect a debt, didn't mention my name, an account number, nothing.

Wow, you absolutely must work for these clowns.

Just so you know, that debt was way past the statute of limitations and you did not leagally have to pay it.

It's a scam when the caller won't mail proof of debt/proof they can collect said debt to the alleged debtor within five days of their initial contact.  "..but theyre probably not just pulling your name out of a hat and calling u..."   Um, yes, they do.  They call people who don't even owe - because they're nothing but filthy, rotten scammers.

These scam deb collectors always try to hide behind statements IDing themselves as "locators".  Total nonsense, especially since there are so many entries on this site IDing them as this WINTERBURG MCMICHAELS & ASSOCIATES, LLC

Got a call from "no caller id" and then a vm from someone with the same message. That I have a debt and they were going to forward to my jurisdiction blah blah blah. He was fumbling & had to correct himself. Left this number and company name to call.
I had this happen before, different company, different number, but same thing. They used a legitimate debt I had that was way old (like 20 years) but they tried to say it was $2500 (it was a $300 credit card that's long gone on my report). I tried to get info from them and asked for a physical address. she gave me a PO box & refused to give me a physical
Address and said I could be some crazy person that would show up there. ???? I laughed at her and told her I wasn't stupid & that I knew this was a scam & she was yelling at me that it wasn't. No real business works this way. No real law office fumbles over sentences that are made up & don't really even mean anything. SCAM.

Obviously Anthony works for them.  Corporation is listed at the address mentioned, but web site gives another address.  It does not appear they had a license for debt collection.  Also can't find any licensed attorneys by either name.  Ps business incorporated July 2014.

The same person Ashley Miller called me last night saying the  same thing. I did call the number and ended up wasting my time and energy with this person who claimed that I would need to give them my account info(which i did not do) so that they could secure a payment and so that it didn't go further (meaning court) I looked into this and saw that it is definitely a scam. I pulled my credit report and that account doesn't exist! What concerned me is that they had a lot of info on me which i found out later anyone can get info on anyone they want it  bad enough.
