Just received call in AZ area. referred to call 850-546-6444.. To avoid judgement or garnishment. call Thomas. Case number starts with 932. I had received these in 2013.  It was a Thomas too, And a remediation Firm. I called back. I was told I had over $2000.00 credit Card debt with Orchard Bank. I told her I did not have an acct. She hung up on me. I called back and a guy told me it was Household Bank.I asked for a Dept Verification letter and copy of the original bill. He yelled at me that I had to contact the original company for That. And  I knew I owed the debt, that the sheriff's dept would be in contact to force me to court. I never have had an acct with either bank. I contacted the bank who is under Capital One. Neither the Household Archive Dept or Capital One could find an acct. No acct on my credit report. Scam . The office was in NC. Now I read these posts. And they say Florida. I think they just reopened in another state. Same scam.

Report the call to your state attorney general's office.
Making threats is illegal & garnishment can only occur with a court order - not because a debt collector says so,
You are correct to demand written proof of the "debt" that is MAILED to you.  Accept nothing else.

FAKE DEBT COLLECTOR

These people keep calling my cell phone and asking for my husband who has had a stroke and is in the nursing home. I know the calls are bogus and I am not scared or worried in the least. But when you call their bluff - for instance, they say the "debt" is from 2003 and I say the statues have expired, or I press for more details - they hang up on me. But that's not the end of it because they repeatedly call back.

Today they left a message and I called back. "Lucas" asked me when I was going to take care of the debt, and I told him I wasn't taking care of anything that I didn't owe. He hung up on me.  I called back again and complained that someone from this number keeps calling my cell phone about a bogus debt and that I had asked them to cease and desist or I was going to contact the Attorney General. Of course he hung up again before I finished my sentence. So I called back a third time. He answered "Oh my Gawwwddd! I already removed your number! Quit calling me - you're tying up my phone lines!!! LOL - mission accomplished.

I got the exact call and message left today. The case # they gave me began with 93XXXX. Thomas Bates working hard with that bs story,with case numbers going up!

Does any one have Thomas Bates home or cell phone number. Is this even a real law firm? Anyone have an address?
Post it, lets send letters and phone calls.

They have been calling me, "a case has been filed against me", call this #. and pay us. This is definitely a scam. I have never called them back. the person who left the message, my name was from an automated voice, but the rest was in a human's voice. Told me to contact Thomas Bates.

Do not report the phone number that appears on your caller ID. This company spoofs numbers to make you think you are receiving a local area code call. They've been calling me on my cell about some supposed credit card, that my case is going to court if I don't call back in 24 hours, blah, blah, blah. I honestly cannot believe that anyone in this day and age would fall for this tripe, but apparently there are a few folks out there who think that you absolutely must answer every call that comes to your phone, and that bill collectors (legit or not) have some sort of authority over them. These people must be collecting money from people or otherwise they would give up.They refused to give me their address so I could "send them a money order". They said they could only take a credit card payment. I said how can I make a credit card payment when I obviously don't pay my bills so no one will give me a credit card any more? They hung up on me. I called them back and kept trying to "ask them about my account" and they kept hanging up on me. They finally begged me to quit calling them - LOL! Now they're calling my home phone. They'll get more of the same from me - plus I'm filing a report with the atty general.

I got a call from 850-546-6444.
The message left on my machine was:  "This confidential message is to inform you that you have a legal matter pending to be filed against you within the next 24 hours.  To make your statement against this claim, which could result in garnishment or civil judgment, you must call Thomas Bates at (850) 546-6444. Your Case No. is ______. For immediate assistance, please press 1."  I've worked for a law firm for many years; I know how to check if a legal matter is pending against me; there are none, nor is there any basis for any claim against me.

I did not call back. It has to be a scammer.

They call us all the time so I set up a google voice number and keep calling them over and over. They are getting pissed off now. Boohoo

Received the same number and gentleman said the same thing. He called my work number and left a voicemail. He left the 850-546-6444 number as a call back # but the call came from Hatboro PA 215-323-3101.

It's a scam, if any court matter is being filed there must be legal documentation that they must serve me not just a threatening phone call. Especially when I don't owe anyone!

Left a message saying that a decision has been made regarding a legal matter against me. There is none. I have received numerous phone calls from this and similar numbers.

I just received a phone call from this so called Thomas Bates.  I keep blocking the numbers that they call me from when you search the numbers they are cell phones or random phone towers.  Definitely, SCAMMER!!!!!

Was actually called from a local number in Florida, message said to call 850-546-6444; in reference to a legal matter.
Funny because by law, whomever is calling needs to identify themselves and can't call so much that it becomes harrasment.

Am investigating further, but it is a spammy number.

Tracy it means voice over IP or voice over Internet Protocol.

This is unConsitutional. It's illegal.
I like the rest of you here posting, have been subject to this fraud call crime. WE THE PEOPLE are done with this.
