- Micro Tech? No Kidding! replies to BillIs "Micro Tech" is a JOB agency office in Waltham,Mass.? Hey Bill, are you Bill Kelly from Micro Tech? Are you the guy who wear a different color $75 "Polo" shirts each time I see you in your office? Are you the guy who get most of the profits from my checks when I worked for you as a contract worker at high-tech companies? Shame on you that you took the most profits off of my pay checks!
- Curt replies to Carl W. Goss| 1 replyFrom the timeline of these responses, looks like the Feds aren't doing or can't do anything to stop this guy(s). I suggest leaving the whistle next to your phone and let him have a blast next time he calls. He has now called three times in two weeks to my house (he has called earlier this and last year too). The first and last time this week I told him he was a scammer before he got his second sentence out ("Windows" does not call people). The second time, I decided to play along as far as I could drag him without giving myself up just to see what he was trying to do exactly. If you play dumb (or not), he will ask that you boot up your PC, click on the Start button, and then type in "showmypc.com", but he only spells it out so that it does not immediately sound obvious. I stopped here because I could not tell him what the screen looked like after he asked, having only written down what he was trying to get me to do. I've filed two complaints with the FTC's "Do Not Call Complaint" site this week. The whistle is next.
- SteveI received two calls from this number with an Indian accented person calling from a call center (you could hear noise in the background). He called for me and he called for my wife. The first time the guy actually got rude and used the "F" word when I told him I didn't have a Windows computer. After reading the above, obviously our 'DO NOT CALL' list is not working.
- EdCalled today, did not answer, left no message. CID blank
- DK replies to JustMeLove it!
- DaveCalled twice today. Did not take NO the first time. Same line as the others above.
You might try telling him that he will be reincarnated lower than an "Untouchable". - No Kidding! replies to Carl W. GossMust be an Indian customer support from " Jimmy Kimmel Live ! "
- Brucethe phone company's need to do something about this stuff its a known scam so they should be held accountable for their part in it allowing it to continue.
- Donnie RI got a phone call from a man with a very thick Middle Eastern or Indian accent saying that my computer had been hacked and that they were receiving a lot of errors from my computer. He wanted me to type in a web site so he could prove that they are an approved Microsoft support company. Gave me an address to type in address bar; I REFUSED
ADDRESS---------------> http://www.winitsolution.us/
I hung up and he immediately called back asking, "Why did you hang up on me"?- Caller: MICROSOFT SUPPORT (BOGUS)
- Call type: Telemarketer
- David Phillips replies to Ron| 1 replyJust received a call myself from Itech guy. Alex Perez claiming to have a fix for the virus in my computer. I fixed the problem myself so, no payment from me. I asked him how he got my number, no reply. I hung up.
- BettyOnce again I received a call from "Brian" that my computer was sending out error messages. Told him to remove my number from his calling list, which he said he couldn't do, and hung up on him.
- Call type: Prank
- patriciaJust got the same call; told him it was a scam and I was going to report it.
- Tipper x 39Wanted to speak to my Mother about her computer and dangerous things she had down loaded from her internet.
Mom 's computer died shortly after Windows XP came out using her dial up connection . 2 bad so sad... I hung up.- Caller: Unknowen
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Rina MorrisI have had this number call me before and explained that I had a company computer and that there is nothing wrong with my computer because my company takes all the necessary precautions.
- DaveJust got a call from Indian sounding "Andrew" telling me that my computer sent a report that it had viruses. He said he was from iTech in Jupiter, FL. I played along for a few minutes because I knew it was a scam. He started giving directions on how to provide remote access. I cut him off and told him he was a scammer to which he started arguing then hung up.
- Caller: iTech....allegedly
- SandiI have received a phone call from 1- 8555-210-3300 saying I had a virus on my computer and they wanted to fix it, I have got these calls for several years, I don't give them any information and then I hang up.
- Caller: Microsoft Windows Tec Support
- FranThese people have called me several times. I tell them I know it is a scam and to stop calling me.
And two or three days later, I get another call - I tell them the same thing and then they call me
again. Getting tired of it. - JasonI had the same call and the same pitch.
- jdubAlmost hilarious if it wasn't so ridiculous and annoying. I got the same scam call from 855-210-3300. The guy said he was getting messages that my computer is infected. I asked him for his name and phone number so I can report him to the police. He hung up right away. THEN HE CALLED BACK not 20 seconds later. He asked if he could prove to me that my computer was infected and then he'd give me his contact information. LOL
So I let him tell me what he wanted me to do: press the Windows key + r (to run a command); then type in "www.me.com"
to which I said absolutely NOT! I would not let them take remote control of my machine, nor would I go to any site where I could get infected.
I demanded his contact information. Then he read off an old address (where I am no longer living) and that completely ticked me off. I demanded his name and contact information again...and he hung up.
These people should be ashamed of themselves, trying to prey on innocent people.- Call type: Prank
