- Mrs. NakajimaThe phone number was left on the house voicemail. There was no message, but I was curious as to who might be calling me, since my family has had this number for more than 25 years, with it published in local phone book from the time we moved here, and we've received a tremendous amount of dubious calls. I could understand the calls from people thinking we delivered pizza, as the Dominoes number 'was' very similar to ours, with just a different order in the numbers. I could understand the local jobs office since we live just the three-digit number over from them (same last four numbers), and I could just barely understand why people calling the local mental hospital dialed us. Over the years, we've had scams from people from Romania, obviously India at this phone number, fly-by-nighters that want to trim the trees, resurface the driveway, clear the leaves off the roof (yes, we're the deadbeat family in the neighborhood, take our car to the dealer (that was an interesting one as the person that lived here forty years ago up and died somewhere in this town, and the last address the Porsche dealer in town had was this one, so they came here when he died as they had a request to shiny up his Karmann Ghia for the funeral procession), lawn treatments for the address on the west side of the street were delivered here, people that wanted to fix our computer and our heating and our telephone connections and rewire the security generator. Now, we don't answer the phone at all unless we're expecting a delivery or a call, just let everything go to voicemail. But, sometimes it's irritating to have someone call at 2 AM and wake you out of a sound sleep because they want to talk to their business partner across the country and refuse to believe that you're not local hotel owner. (Yes, I know who the Patels are, and their kids went to my kids' school, but you'll find their number in the phone book--there aren't too many to look through, and if they've been called in error and their name is Patel, I'm sure they're going to be a lot more understanding than I am at 2 AM in the morning and I just got off work at midnight and my name is not even remotely Indian, or Pakistani. Please, do not call me again. I have to be back in the office at 7 AM.) Well, now, we just turn down the phone volume at night and let it all go to voicemail.
- Caller: don't really know
- casual observer replies to PC PrincipalIt sounds like you have a problem with the President of the USA. Write him. Or, take up a new career in novel-writing. There's plenty of schools and self-help organizations that might help you make money off this venture. I don't think we all appreciate that 'Joe + Mary' on the tree trunk in local park, either. Don't complain to some anonymous phone-scam line and expect us to agree with you on your politics. Please.
- casual observer replies to PeevedI agree. Wholeheartedly. Why should the company that provides the service charge us an extra fee, and a six month contract to 'block' incoming calls. Heavens, the phone companies charge enough 'extra' fess for this and that, for questionable benefit, that this blocking service would save their buttinskis for the irritation that makes ordinary people want to cancel their landlines. Maybe that Credo company would be interested.

- JinThese people call me almost 3 times a week trying to scam saying my computer is sending people virus and junk emails and this guy has bad English sounds younge said she are u in front off your computer than what do see see on the screen this a big scam nobody trust them they acted like the IRS also . This must be a call center
- LuisMy grandmother gets calls from these [***] all the time. One time I got fed up and called the number back on my cell. I got a different guy than the one that called on the home phone but still the same demegraphic. Indian guy who says his name is "Jon" and it's very obvious he's in a call center. The guy I got was very rude to me actually. He first tried saying no one ever called and then said I had the wrong number and spouted out some other random number to try and throw me off. I just told him to place the home line on the do not call list. He was quite reluctant to do so and I had to pressure him by dropping a few F-bombs but he eventually did it, or so he said. I finished by telling him that I will file legal action if we get another call.
ALSO THIS IS IMPORTANT! If any of you continue to get calls from these people after you tell them to stop, YOU CAN file legal action and even sue them for money. If you tell them to stop calling and place you on the do not call list and they continue to call, they are breaking the law. Good luck everyone and SHUT THESE GUYS DOWN!! - JackScam told me some one been hacking my computer and sending virus and I paid to for this already guy had bad English sounded like he was from Indian he said Florida . All he said are you In front off your computer what do you see wanted to type something in my computer not ever one is dumm
