- Kat* replies to RanchWhy would UPS care if "the package was for personal use"? And why are you even here if you already know who called you?
- 061021Received a call from this number. First time didn't answer as I didn't recognize it. Second time I answered and it was automated message but no option to speak with someone. I called the number back the person answered hello. I asked if this was a business number & he said yes UPS Brokerage. Asked for the tracking number I was given and I provided it. Then asked for my name. I asked him to provide me information that this was a legit call and not a scam and he didn't answer. He then asked for my name again and I said no, not until you prove to me this is a legit business. He claimed he was with UPS Brokerage and that was looking to have fees paid on a packaged delivered today at 3pm. I asked why would I pay fees on something that was already delivered. He said you can ignore the call mam! He was polite but never did verify it was legit, provided no information to me, dismissed the intended brokerage fees. To MY KNOWLEDGE...if there are brokerage fees, it would not be delivered until they were paid. I SAY THIS IS A SCAM!!!

- johnthis is legit... its UPS
- Dave| 1 reply100% Legitimate. After reading some of these comments, I decided to call the number back. The lady gave me the option of paying the UPS charge on the phone or on the website. She knew the exact amount that was on the UPS website. As with any phone number though, you're always better off paying though the official website ups.com just in case.

- MikeHuntleton replies to DaveInstead of trying to convince people the caller is "100% legitimate", perhaps a better idea is for each person to find out on their own by checking out the website.

You can't possibly know if other people's callers are going to be legitimate or if some scammer is spoofing the number and impersonating UPS. - post pending moderator approval

- Tony replies to DebSorry but for my company it was not a legit UPS tracking number ?
- Neil R replies to SN| 3 repliesAlso received a similar call. Your E1340... provided by them is a shipment number and is actually part of the actual 18 digit alphanumeric tracking number. Our order is a commercial order and it's legit.
- MikeHuntleton replies to Neil RGood for you, but that bit of info won't help those who get fraudulent calls by scammers. This is not a competition on posting how many good vs bad calls people get from this number and everyone should check for themselves at the Official UPS website.
- BigA replies to Neil RObviously your post isn't though. How can I tell? Simply from the fact that there was no reason for you to look this number up if what you said were actually true.
