Because they aren't really in the US.  They use spoofing and VOIP to cover their tracks and make it look like they are calling you from your neighbour's house but in fact they are hiding in a one room office, huddled around a bank of phones trying to impress their co-workers with how many fish they can hook and reel in.  Don't be one of those fish please.

I like most people on here we are not the person there looking for they calling my wife and I all day long.      I have try to let them know which was impossible!, so I'm  doing the next best thing and block the calls end of problem Have a Great Day.

Called on my cell this morning.  I do not answer numbers I do not know.  I called right back and the lady said let me look up your file.  She then asked my birth date.  I said I do not give information over the phone.  She hung up on me.  I think I will start calling them several times a day.

Lady calls me claiming I owe a debt said she was with URG her name was Jada. Asked me to verify my dob and I did, she said it was wrong. I told her that that was my birthday and that she must have the wrong person. She became very rude and told me I was young and dumb. Whatever that was supposed to mean. I'm pretty sure I know when my birthday is but I did tell her to just go ahead and have me served because the attorney that I worked for would be glad to take on my case pro bono. This lady is a scam.

We were out of town for a month and when we came back there were 9 calls from this number.  How do we get them to stop calling!

Keep getting threatening calls saying I have to call today.  It's a scam.

What they are doing is illegal. The BBB is useless. Turn them in to these guys and let them know that they are threatening you with warrants and arrests and calling other about a debt.

Call blocker might be  you're best bet.  The phone company might be able to block the call too, but I think they charge a fee for that.

Total scam.  Ignore 'em.  Better yet, if they call you wind 'em up. Give them false information.   Delay your responses, keep them on the line as long as possible.  In the end tell 'em you know it's a scam and you aren't going to give them the time of day.

This is for someone I do not know.  They keep calling my cell phone number, which costs me minutes as I am on a Trac phone.

They leave a message for a person I do not know.  It is not a good message.  I want this stopped as it costs me minutes on my cell phone plan.

You said they are "spoofing", pretending to call from a neighbors house (same area code?). How can they do that? How do you know they are out of the U.S.?

Harrassing phone number. Looks like there no recourse..,
