If I don't know the number than I never answer.  99.9% of time it's a nuisance call, collector for wrong person robo call or just bs.

Robo call ...asks for someone I don't know can't pronounce correctly says if I'm not that person please disregard...calls repeatedly. This should be illegal. Blocked um

Their recorded voice left me a message, for (my name) to please return the call - absolutely nothing about who they were and why they were calling. I don't return anonymous calls.

I just got a call from this number.  I believe they are collecting information for scammers.  He said it was for a hospital bill and they wanted my birthdate and address.  I never gave that info to him.  I asked if I had an outstanding medical bill.  He said he couldn’t give me that information as it’s private info.  Hahahahaha!  I just hung up!!   I know some people say this is legit, but it’s a crappy way to do business if it is!  I paid my hospital bill the day I got it in the mail!!

The number showing up on my phone was a local number, I didn't answer because I didn't recognize it, when I listened to the message they gave a completely different number - sounds pretty dirty if they have to change their number to call you...I can't remember what it is when they change a number..spoofing a call I think...I will not be returning that call and it will be blocked....

This is a collection company for hospital and other medical bills. I had an ER visit a few months ago and have been paying regular monthly payments to my local hospital (in NC) for this. My hospital says they have not turned me over to this agency. I refuse to speak to them and will continue to make payments to my local hospital.

I keep getting calls from 828-283-9063 asking me to call 855-283-9093.  Usually calls when I'm on the road and they don't repeat the number.  Today I called back and got a survey, which I'm not answering and now am blocking this number.

They are not outside the US it is a national number, bilking for many hospitals. They told me I could pay online if I didn't want to pay them and they promptly gave me the online address to my hospital.

I didn't pay them either but they did give me the correct online payment for my hospital to pay that way.

Look up phone number spoofing. Oh, and explain why you bothered to come to a phone number look-up site if you already know who called you. I mean, it's not as if you actually gave any information about this caller that you say is "bilking for many hospitals" so why are you even here?

Yes, I believe that you used exactly the correct term.  This outfit is definitely "bilking" people.

I have received numerous calls from several numbers with different area codes, blocked everyone of them. Been going on for weeks now.
Says its spring Valley Medical center looking for Erica Marks. I have had this number for over 10 years. Says MY name on the voicemail introduction, so no thanks robo call.

I have received 4 calls this month from the 855-283-9093 number. Caller never leaves a voicemail. Caller ID shows St Luke’s Hospital which is in North Carolina. I’ve never been to see any dr or hospital near that state. I used the white pages reverse number look up and it also stated that hospital name.

I just received a call from this number.  Do not know who it is, although I am in negotiations with a huge ER bill.  Insurance company sent an appeal on July 25th.  Waiting to hear from them.  Is this the hospital that received insurance company's appeal? Can they just send it to collections when it's in appeal and 11 phone calls were made to both insurance co. and hospital?

PS.  Doesn't the collection agency need to send a letter of PROOF/intent?  Seems fishy.

I have no idea what you mean by a "letter of "PROOF/intent"?  If it is a third party debt collector they do not need to send anything in writing until they have first contacted you.  So the first thing we need to determine is who is calling.  Is this the hospital calling or is it a third party debt collector calling.  That makes a huge difference in what they must do.  As to what they are allowed to do while it is in appeal, well you would need to take that up with your insurance company or read your contract.

PPS.  Called billing department on original bill and the customer service rep. is familiar with the number.  It belongs to a billing service that the hospital has outsourced the contact for outstanding bills.  The CSR said the number is not a collection agency.  He said that they were PROBABLY calling to remind me of the due date for this outstanding bill, which I found, just now, is September 30, 2019.  He also mentioned that it is not going to appear on my credit report due to calls from this number. At least for my situation, I believe.

What company name did the CSR give you for this caller who is "not a collection agency"?

A "billing service"?  As far as I know that would be a collection agency (third party).  So how come no one can actually name this legitimate billing service?
