This is actually a legit call from a hospital billing agency. I do have an outstanding hospital bill I have been paying monthly. I called my local hospital billing dept to ask about it and they said it was legit, BUT they had received several calls from others wondering if it were real.   I just got a voice mail  that told me to return the call, when I did no one answered..  I didn't deal with that # just paid my bill at the hospital

Looks like a shill post was missed last week. Anyone getting a "legit call" would have no reason to look up a phone number.

I received several calls from them until finally I called them back, they did confirm my doctor's name and the balance on my account. Somehow my last payment was put on the wrong account but they will get it fix.  I'm glad I called them back.

So you ignored all the bills you got in the mail regarding this debt?

They auto called my cell phone, with auto message, with my full name, to call them back.  I called back on a land line. Initial auto answer said call was being recorded. Then a real human answered. They wouldn't tell me who they were when I asked. They asked my name, I gave them my name, they claimed that they were looking me up & they disconnected the call.

Male with broken English. Said he was calling from St Joseph's Savannah. Said he needed to verify identity. I asked what he was calling about. He said he needed to verify my identity to tell me that. I reminded him HE called me. I needed to verify his identity. All he could do was give my name and zipcode. I told him send a letter. Rang off and rang St Joseph's. First, the last bill I paid awhile ago. Gave her the toll free number. She said it's not in any directory she has access. I gave her details of the call because their security does research. My advice: put phone number on block. Don't answer. If they're legit they'll send a letter.

Called and said “This is a message for ‘David ***’ if this David, call this number. If this is not David *****, call back and let us know.”  I don’t give out my cell number to any medical providers, so ......

Update: As I said I told him to send a letter. Nearly 4 weeks later? Crickets. I don't owe any healthcare bills. Legitimate business will write. You can demand this.

Calls constantly and says they are from a medical billing collection agency through Harris Regional Hospital. They keep asking for some man. I keep telling them I have had this number since 2018 to no avail. It's so frustrating because they call from different numbers. Even though I am on the DNC list and have a service that blocks these types of calls, they still get through. If I don't answer they just keep calling.

I received a call from them 3 days after getting the bill. Happens routinely.  I will pay them but keep the receipt and try to never go to this hospital!  Shame on them!

I've had hospital bills eight months ago but no unpaid bills.

I've got no idea what this call is about, and with no information given, I assume it's an outright scam.
There is no way I'm going to call back.

This phone number is listed as an Additional Contact for our local hospital, which I haven't been admitted to in eight years.
That's confusing. Makes me wonder if legitimate hospitals now make inappropriate phone calls to which I will never respond.
If they want to talk with me, they'll have to tell who they are and the topic they want to discuss.
