- Russ| 1 replyI have had $6.99 debited from my checking account for 6 months. I assumed it was an additional charge for my automobile ESurance policy. I am trying to call the compant (ESH*INS) 309-8345 without any luck. I believe this could be a scam. I am contacting the Georgia Attorney General's office as well as the local Better Business Bureau.

- tld| 2 repliesjust check my banking account and found the charge on it for 6.99
- George & Gay Wells| 4 repliesI was charged 10.99 as a debit card entry on my bank account. I did not authorize this charge and want it taken off now.

- Chad| 2 repliesMy bank account said I made a purchase on this for 10.99 please take it off now
- Caller: Verizon
- jeff replies to George & Gay Wells| 3 repliesThis is a discussion board, not your banker. Contact those who debited your account and call your bank.
- jeff replies to Chad| 1 replyI can't believe that people actually believe that 800notes not only makes all of their unwanted calls but debits their bank accounts too. This is a Friggin discussion board only, to discuss unwanted callers....... Contact whomever it was that debited you and contact your bank.
- ag| 10 repliesToday found 2 pending charges for $4.99 on my debit card account which reflected a phone number of 855-309-8345 and a company name of TechProtect. This is definitely a scam as I have not used this card for months. Called the bank - they are canceling my debit card and sending new one. Once the payments post to the account, I will have to call the bank again to dispute the charges.
- ag replies to jeffJeff: It wouldn't hurt you to be a little more kind. However, you are correct. This is not the place to dispute charges to your account; you need to call your bank for that. This site is for the purpose of identifying possible scams related to a particular phone number.
- ag| 3 repliesOkay, I may have to take back my assertion that this was a scam. After further research, it appears this may be insurance I purchased when I got a new Verizon cellphone. It showed up on my debit account as TechProtect, which I have never heard of. In addition, I had two charges for $4.99 on the same day, which doesn't make sense. Also, I purchased this phone many months ago, however, it appears I am just now being charged for the insurance. I am still not certain about these debit charges but I don't want to make any false claims against TechProtect.
- HP| 2 repliesIt's insurance for Verizon wireless phone customers. They did however also double bill us and claimed one of the pending authorizations would fall off but dispute it with our bank if it doesn't (yeah thanks for f'ng up and inconveniencing us for their mistake). There seems to be a wide range of billing amounts as well. I see the guy above pays $4.99. We pay $6.99 and then I see the $10.99 above.
- JPI have been double charged for $6.99, after looking through my account history 2 other charges have showed up from previous months. I have not had a Verizon phone in over a year, but that's what the bank says it is from, 3rd party insurance. Someone in the bank office also got dinged by the same thing. A friend also said a co-worker called Verizon and after much complaining found out that it my have stemmed from account info being sold.
Now my bank account is suspended for 4 days while they issue a new card, but that's really the only way to stop it, and luckily I caught the double charges while pending, so they were canceled, the others are being disputed. I called the # associated with the charge and I got a lame apology message, a link to a run around web page, and was told that if I wanted to speak to a human to wait on the line, at which point I was disconnected - LaThis is for cell phone insurance- I just called them because I was double billed for 10.99- they instructed me to send a fax from my bank sating that I was not reimbursed for one of them- 1-866-625-6123 is where to send fax...

- Barb replies to sol| 1 replyI believe this is the monthly deduction for my cell phone insurance that I signed up for at the Verizon store when I bought my new phone. It is different from Assurion that I have from them before. This is taken from my credit/debit acct. every month, and not added to my monthly Verizon bill.
- Scott| 1 replyThis is insurance for my Verizon cell phone. The problem is it is not the amount that the sales person said I would be charged each month. I am going to cancel it because the charge is always different and never has been the amount that Verizon said it would be. I would rather just eat the charge of a cell phone if anything ever happens. This is just my two cents.............
- Chip replies to ScottI have 3 charges of 6.99 on my credit card statement. Verizon has no record on for insurance on my phones.
Contacting credit card company to dispute it. - Mark replies to jeffHey- the number that the charge to my card at least is disconnected or has been changed--- trying to call the people who charged the 10.69 to my account- [***] we know this isn't our bank
- Mark replies to jeffLet me clarify- my card was charged 10.99- the number ESH-ins gives on the charge is 8553098345. I just tried to call that number because I want to cancel the insurance on my new phone. IT SAID THE NUMBER HAS BEEN CHANGED- if so then why is whoever is charging my account giving an incorrect phone number-- how can I cancel???? Can't call a number they give me that is incorrect- stop judging people as idiots that don't know what they're doing.
