Let me clarify- my card was charged 10.99- the number ESH-ins gives on the charge is 8553098345. I just tried to call that number because I want to cancel the insurance on my new phone. IT SAID THE NUMBER HAS BEEN CHANGED- if so then why is whoever is charging my account giving an incorrect phone number-- how can I cancel???? Can't call a number they give me that is incorrect- stop judging people as idiots that don't know what they're doing.

TECHPROTECT PREM is definitely a fraudulent company. Verizon confirmed that this is not a charge for cell phone insurance and that they have seen numerous complaints and/or fraudulent situations related to this group. According to the Ga. Attorney General's office, they have been following this group for a while and is on the verge of making arrests. The group is fairly unsophisticated and has done a bad job of covering their tracks.

this happened to me.  6 days after I purchased 2 new phones on my debit card.  insurance was added. I could not get any help from the phone # I went to the Verizon store I purchased them from, I told them I did not authorize this charge .  they contacted the company and it was refunded back into my account within 24 hours.  I also cancelled my debit card and applied for a new one so this can not happen again

I know what this $4.99 Charge is for.  I live by a new Verizon store that just open not too long ago.  I needed a WiFi to connect my laptop to do some mobile training and go to the Web.  So I went to the local Verizon Store.  I too found the $4.99 on my bank statement.  I research it and found out that the Verizon Store is NOT a Verizon Store.  It is a Cellular Sales Store that sales Verizon  Products and the Verizon Signage on the store.  When I bought the WiFi device the sales person wanted me to get Insurance on it.  I told her I already had Verizon Insurance (Asurion) on my devices.  She said that her store is a Retail store for Verizon products and that they do not offer Asurion with their sold products.  If I needed Insurance I had to get it through “their” provider TechProtect for a monthly Fee of $4.99 for my WiFi device..  I got the Insurance because being Mobile Teaching and if I lost it I wanted to replace it Immediately.  I have also learned that if you demand Asurion Insurance these Verison Cellular Sales Store are to offer it too you.   My sales person did not offer Asurion she lead me to believe TechProtect was the only Insurance that they could offer with my device.  I am returning to the store Mon to try to get this stopped.  If I can not I will cancell this card.  Hope this helps all.

This number is the number for the ESH techprotect insurance.  We had the same unwanted charges happen to us.  Beware when you purchase a phone from Verizon.  We declined the insurance and are still fighting with this company to stop charging our account. The first time we received someone else's signed approval, now after a second bill we are still trying to get them to stop and refund charges.  Don't trust your Verizon sales person.

Received a letter titled "Cancellation Notice" stating "... your protection is at risk. We are unable to process your payment with the credit card currently on file for this phone: ..."  The phone number, handset model, and ESN information follows, so it looks like information from the cell phone provider.
However, I have NEVER used a credit card to pay a bill like this.
Their instructions for providing a credit card number imply that is the only way they accept payments. Several other phrases make this sound like a scam to me:
    1. Your wireless provider cannot assist you ...
    2. (In bold) Safeguard your phone by contacting us now.
    3. Multiple rferences to "program" and "your policy" there is no account or policy number referenced in the letter.
    4. The site they list for a "full copy of your policy" is ... esecuritel.com/CelluarSales.
    5. The tone of the letter is threatening, like they hope to panic people into asking for a service they may not want or need.

I just found this charge on a credit card I got after two months after my newest phone and 6 months after I purchased the phone itself. I immediately called my credit card company and they removed the charge and is sending me a new card. All insurance charges with verizon are billed to my verizon statement. I am quite curious though that it appears to be only customers of verizon or old Alltel accounts (which I am).

I have just noticed that 6.99 has been deducted from my account for at least the past three months.  Thanks to all who have posted here and shared their stories about ESH TechProtrct. I will be contacting my bank and mobile carrier also first thing tomorrow in order to figure out how to get refunded these monies.  A year of these charges per person is a rediculous $83.88!!  How many thousands of dollars ar these scammers stealing?!

it is a phone protection insurance usually if you bought from verizon verizon no longer has them for insurance protection so if you are still getting charges you need to call and cancel they will refund your money for the last ones taken from account and thye will email you a receipt of cancellation and a number .

I saw this number on my credit card bill along with a charge of $4.66 yesterday. Not knowing where it came from I immediately researched on google and was sent to this site. Some of the posts had me VERY worried and almost convinced I was going to have to cancel my credit card to get TechProtect from charging my account monthly. HOWEVER THAT WAS NOT THE CASE!!! Tech Protect is a company that insures Verizon phones bought at CellularSales locations. When I called 855-309-8345 today I was on hold for only 2 minutes. The customer service agent who answered, Paige, was very helpful and cancelled all 4 policies without any argument. The entire call took less than 10 minutes. Don't freak out - just calmly call and cancel the insurance policy. BUT...if I do continue to get charged by TechProtect I will post on this site again.

My charge is for $19.50. I don't remember signing up for this, and if this is a monthly charge, then that's ridiculous. Going to call asap to cancel.
