I have been getting very rude calls from this company AMSG. They say I have a credit card from HSBC from 7 years ago that is unpaid. Told me I committed fraud by not paying them. I paid that card off in 2010 and have proof. They say that the credit card number is different.  I never had more than the one I paid off.  How do I get these calls to stop?

This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Now this company has already file two amendments to their charter, the last moving Mentoli and Silverpoint off shore.  Wow does that scream tax dodge, illegal activities and money laundering or what?

You guys are honestly all just a bunch of idiots. I used to work for an agency such as this one. and so I know for a fact that half of you call in yelling, with attitudes and with a demanding tone. please understand NOONE and I mean NO ONE including you, will ever respond lightly to the types of attitudes you guys respond with instead of simply saying wrong number or realizing there is more than one collection agency. They do have different numbers BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE THAN ONE LOCATION!. And if your are a dead beat debtor I highly suggest you stop complaining and pay your debt or be sued with a smile on your face when it ends up on your credit report.

furthermore I have been contacted by this company. due to ongoing scams I asked for the company's info. they politely provided this info. I did my own research and found more than 4 websites  not including there direct website. this company is governed, licensed, and credited by the state attorney and even better business bureaus which means you guys don't research. after I confirm they are legit I paid of my debt and they sent me a letter during and after stating all the account info, and my payments. they did this by email and even stayed on the phone and made sure i received the document through a legal document called Docu-sign which protects the company and my self.they also closed and reported the account to the credit bureau. so now no one can try fraud or scamming on  this account because its paid and I have the proof . you guys should really ask them about the process of the accounts. they were more than happy to provide me with more then enough info check your info or your attitude is my only advice...

You 'used' to work for them...more like you still do and are trying to justify your actions. Scam artists don't 'politely' offer info, they demand you give them what they want. And check our attitude? Look at your own freaking post-it SCREAMS you having an attitude. Why don't you check YOUR info and realize we don't believe moronic SHILLS like you. Why don't you give us the NAME of this company hmm? You most likely won't because they your 'former' boss will come after you due to the agreement you signed against saying/posting negative feedback again them! Suck it up and move on

Having a bad day "LYNETTE"? Being a bogus debt Scammer has its bad sides doesn't it? You're going to come back denying that you're working for this outfit. Don't waste your time & don't try to insult our intelligence. We see through far better Scammers than you every day. I can prove you're a Shill with one simple request. You've stated that you've had all kinds of correspondence with this outfit. Post up their information. All of it. You have it. You've just said so. You won't post a verifiable thing. Now, why would that be "LYNETTE"? I think we all know. You're a Fraud "LYNETTE". We know that. You know that. Now everyone that finds this site will know that.

Let's not have the "you hit us back first" fallacy again. Comments here speak of ambush, insults, curses, scripted lies, and empty threats from the collection agents, who need no urging to act like jackals on a kill site and were never provoked by anything but their own greed. As you "check your info", note that all of those tactics are illegal, whereas defaulting on a consumer loan is not a crime.

The "state attorney", if you mean an AG, and the Better Business Bureau (singular) do not "govern, license", or "credit" anything. Triple-B is a glorified private chamber of commerce known to accept payola for favorable grades. DocuSign is a service for document and electronic signature delivery, not a guarantor of privacy, authenticity, or honesty from a given company. I won't even touch how you obtain a "document through a legal document".

You found four whole websites which "confirm they are legit" and so conveniently conducted business via email. Bully for you. This of course has zero relation to how debts are validated and debt claims are evaluated, a topic conspicuously missing from your lecture in consumer finance. The CFPB and FTC do not tell us to pay first and receive documentation later. You'd have us believe that thanks to your obedience "no one can try fraud or scamming". Yet every week someone pays unverified debt in the same big hurry and later finds another goon trying to collect the same account or its leftovers from a slapdash "settlement".

I've no need to "ask them about the process of the accounts". The instruction manual for all US debt collectors is the FDCPA, simple enough even for mouth-breathing flunkies in Atlanta and Buffalo to comprehend. Have your pals at Arsewipe Manglement call me sometime. I will be more than happy to provide advice for compliance, likely titled "Summons and Complaint".

once again they never demanded anything from me. otherwise i wouldn't have even continued the conversation with them. after my research they sent me a VOD and it went from there. and moronic shill? dude i  honestly don't give a flying [***] who does and doesn't believe me. im putting in my opinion just like everyone else. but since we are on the subject of morons. you should know that with debt collections especially a company that's registered there is no contract or agreement that you sign that states someone will come after you. please check your self before trying to check me. or at least pay your debt. sounds like your using debtor tactics 101.. good bye

I am going to save my time and decline reading your life story. Now in previous comments, I have provided the links to which I was provided concerning this company. Being as this is not my place of business, I will not argue with you on my experience. So please feel free to research and call  the company yourself. Now while I do agree with you that the comments  on this site are insults and complaints. I do not agree with coming at me for going against the grain and providing my personal experience. Now if you want the address the subject of your concern of me finishing grade school, that's no problem. But instead of providing you with my life story I'll sum up my grade school experience for you. In elementary school I read and wrote 3 levels ahead of my grade level. For grades 6-12, I was in advanced and scholar classes. My grades were always an A or B+. I. graduated a year early within the top 5 of my class. I graduated with a full scholar ship for medicine. I am  currently  enrolled in college with that scholarship and have been at the top of my class for quite some time now. If you need any more info to fulfill your wandering mind, please feel free to reply back with all questions. And I'd like to personally thank you ahead of time for your concern. Have a good day sweetie. ;)

Company contacting me about a payday loan I never received in 2012 in North Carolina. The company has has information about my including my ss#. Help
Company said I took $620, the ip address was from my old house, in NC, which I did not live in at the time. Company states they are collecting for a business that isn't in business anymore. Company said I took the loan in October 26, 2012 and gave them my bank of America account to takin the payments from. Company also said the in the first call that the funds were also sent to that back account. Company changed where the funds were wired when I had SC police call them. The SC police suggested I file in the state the crime happened which is NC. I spoke to a Calvin Alvarez who stated after his attempt the collection would go to authorities and i would be prosecuted for this bogus debt. The number they called from is XXXXXXXXXX, today they called from XXXXXXXXXX. I requested the debt in writing and i never got it, instead the company sent me an email, which calvin stated was just as good as mailing it. Calvin has all of my sensitive information. The Customer ID for my account he gave is XXXXXX. He says the debt has grown to $870. The company had my full account number, but I closed that account in 2013. I had placed fraud alert on my account.

    Desired Settlement
I seek for this business to stop harassing me and cancel this bogus debt.

I actually PAY my bills, every month, ON TIME. It's too bad your hardwired little shill BRAIN can't comprehend that. And it's more like you WORK for them STILL. Good thing I don't have a CC and, if this is how their employees (or their so-called 'former' ones) act, it won't be with American Express if I ever DO. You actually have dragged their name DOWN with your posts-hope you're proud of yourself. What I will NEVER do is pay is money I KNOW I don't owe. You're now on the troll list buddy, so we know NOT to believe a word out of your lying mouth (or lying fingers, as the case may be).
