I know right? What the hell was 'Maria" thinking? How do some people function in life being that clueless?

That comment by Maria is fairly common around here.

Them calling all the time is a nuisance. They do not know how to take no for an answere. The junk mail I get from them is unreal.. they either are very motivated or very stupid...hope they give ip soon.

This is where personal responsibility comes in.  You write them a letter telling them to stop calling you and to put you on their internal and external do not call list, and also tell them you want a written copy of their do not call policy ( they have to supply it by law, failure to do so means you can sue them).  Send the letter certified, return receipt.

I am concerned about the people on the other end of this number.  Please do not share your credit card information with anyone who is calling you.  You can always call a company back with a valid phone number for security purposes.

I recently received a letter in the mail at my current residence that my Sirius XM account was overdue.  I have been receiving calls for the past several days from various 855 numbers including 855-404-0163 and 855-283-3957.  I assumed it was Sirius radio as I had recently received the notice letter in the mail.

Last night, I answered one of the calls from 855-404-0163.  Someone named Jake was on the other end asking for my credit card information to update my Sirius account.  I told him that I would be happy to pay the amount that was overdue as my credit card information had changed, but that I needed to end the contract.  His response was, "The account automatically renews, and there is nothing you can do."  My phone then dropped the call, and when he called back he began the call asking for my full name and address.  I knew that Sirius had my current address on file as I had just received a letter from them, and felt a bit strange about the call.  I told the gentleman that he was calling me and he should have my address on file.  He then gave me the "address on file" which was a residence I haven't lived in for two and a half years.

I told Jake that I needed to call him back, figuring that if I called Sirius I could confirm it was actually them.  Jake told me that I couldn't call him back.  I told him I was getting off the phone and would call back immediately, but I needed his phone number.  He provided 888-228-7996.  This was NOT the phone number provided on the actual mail correspondence that I received from Sirius.  I promptly called the number that Sirius actually provided (866-255-9767), and received a message that their call centers were not currently open.

Beware.  This seems fishy.  Don't ever provide your credit card information to someone who is calling you.

As a follow up to my previous comment, I called the actual number provided by Sirius radio today.  They told me that they have an outsourced company that sometimes does these calls, but that the call wasn't on their records.  It is still strange, but it is looking like it was Sirius after all.

They just calked me at 8:40 pm tonight..barely been home 45 minutes from work. Really?  Call me this late in the evening when they've had all day?  I have had SiriusXM in my car since I bought my car January 2014. I kept it because of my daughter and my husband.  They like certain channels. I just started a new job, so I have to catch up on this month's payment then they can not call me so late in the evenings.  I don't talk to no body after 8:00 pm.

If you call the number back and listen to the prompts, Option 3 (at least at this time) is to be placed on their "Do Not Call" list, and remain on the line. You will get someone who will once again ask if you would like to continue service, but just tell them no and you want to be on the Do Not Call list. They will ask for the number to be placed on the list, and then read you a script. Then you are done with them for good! Granted, this is only for telemarketing calls. If you owe them money, and they are trying to collect the money, then pay your bills or go bankrupt instead of complaining about them calling constantly. Simple as that.

Why should I have to waste time on the phone, trying to remove my name from an unsolicited call anyways? I never paid for Sirius. I bought the wife a new car that came with a free 3 month trial. Now they harass me about a service I obviously don't want!

Well, the number came in on my cell phone this afternoon and I don't have Sirius!  I didn't answer.  I guess my number is just on the list.  Thank you for all the comments.  It helps me to know what I am missing!

Sirius called me. Couldn't understand a word he was saying, but heard a recorded voice saying,  " this conversation is being recorded". I will call them to renew but don't want them calling me, especially with an accent that is that hard to understand.
