Just got a call from this Matthew Stone character.  Same as all above notations.  He called my place of business and my cell phone.  At the end of the message he left on my cell phone, he made a special point to say my name and let me know I have been notified.  My mom just called me.  She's in her 80's, barely able to get to the phone and this person called her moments after he tried me.  This isn't legitimate and I worry about all of the people that don't know about these scams.  He said if he didn't hear from me by 10/19, he would come serve me the papers.  I've been served in my lifetime before and noone ever let me know in advance.  That should always tell you they are scam artists hoping to scare someone into giving them an immediate payment.

i also have had the same phone call from a Charles Murray  855 -502-7963 on 10/26/11 10/28/11 saying they would be here 10/31/11 for me to sighn certified letter  about being served funny thing is he kepy calling me Charmaine which is not even my name I have caller id and the phone number never came up he told it the answering machine and so I did a reverse phone look up and found all these post I have been looking for someone to knock on my door all day scared cause I know i owe some money out there but jail omg

my originl post was oct 10 and my serve was suppose to be oct 12.  well today is nov 2 and i've not received anything or gotten any more calls after threatening them with a lawyer. these guys are a scam!!!!! beware!!!

I got the same message. From Micheal Wise. Told me he was going to serve me. I have 48 hours to call back. So I called back! They put me on hold and said they needed to talk to their client Cashnet. A few mintues later come back on wanted a payment of 200.00 by the end of the day. Told them no and hung up. I started to investigate. First,what they are doing is illegal. They told me they represent Cashnet. so I call them. Cashnet sold my account and told me Recovery processing systems never talked to them. Also,they have no interest in my account. Second,I cant go to jail for a payday loan. Which they stated I was going to jail for check frud. Not true it was a loan for over five years ago. I was paying it,they told me I never made one payment,also not true. I asked for a valdation of debt,filed a report with the AG office,BBB,FTC. It seems that their collection procedures are illegal. They are a collection agency and never disclose they are trying to collect a debt. They say they are processor and servers. I asked for an address and a statement from them which they refused to give me. So I needed to find it myself on the internet. I called back today and spoke with Norm. Who seemed to be flustered by my questions! To why he is telling me he is representing cashnet when he is not,why he states I paid nothing on this debt when I did. He transfered me to a manager who seemed flustered to. Ask for my address and stated I will have a vaildation in a few days. Will keep you posted.

Received the same call said acct was opened in 2007. Said tried to speak to my aunt who was a reference onacct that was opened in 2007 but funny thing is my aunt passed away in 2004. These people nd to grow up and stop trying to steal money from people they nd a life. I also spoke w/my local pd and they said its a scam

I have been also getting these calls from a woman named Laura and giving me this phone number to call and i called and the guy answered and tried to get me to pay this "debt" that does not exist. I told him i dont have this type of money. He then told me (after he checked with a supervisor) that he could make payment arrangements. He only had me on hold for about 20 seconds. He then came back with a lst of options...Not able to get that amount of info in 20 secs....Oh yeah and BTW......I was scammed like this from another set of people and they have since been arrested in Buffalo NY...Thank you Mr.Atty General!!! This is complete BS and A SCAM!!!!.....They just tried to call again while typing this and now gave me my 3rd date for the papers i am being served with...LMAO!!! I hope noone falls for this BS...

I just got the same call today for a family member that doesn't live with me.  He said his name was Charles Murray and he had the documents stating my family member would be served and appear in court.  This is a scam -- you are right you are not notified that you are being served -- the process server just shows up.  I will block the number and hope others do too.

This number was given to me to call so I won't be taken to court for a debt, I supposedly owed.

Yeah, they're still at it. I had half a message on voice mail when I got home today, then my sister called this evening. Seems they had called HER mother-in-law, looking for the same likeness of my name (which they had mispronounced as 'Peter' on both calls). Either way, I barely know my brother-in-law's mother, let alone put her down with any of my information. What public record they used to tie us together, I don't know...
Oh, well, they're on the block list now. Oh, yeah, the 'collector' was Michael Ryder this time.

I also received several call in regards to a past loan i had Supposedly had which i can not recall from Mr. Robert Milburn. Called two days ago threatening to deliver paperwork to sign to my home or work of employement on Nov 10th, Today....I had not seen anyone as of yet and will let you know if I do or do not get a visit today. I also reported to FTC on-line

Received a call for my mother-in-law this morning. They gave this phone number and a 'claim number' in reference to this call. Googled the number and found this. Total scam. Not falling for it and my mother-in-law is calling the sherrif's dept.

November 10th came and gone with no one at my door??  Hummmm  after being told several time that Mr. Robert Millburn will be at my door or work place November 10th.  I wonder if the calls will continue with diffrent litigation dates ect......

I got one of these messages on my Cell phone and then my mother called and was worried that I was going to court.  I called these people back and they wanted me to verify my SSN.  When I refused he said he wouldn't give me any info about my "case" and hung up on me.  I called back and told the next person that I wanted to know who they're "client" is and that I wasn't giving them my SSN.  They already had my SSN because they told it to me, but I didn't verify it with them.  They claim that someone will be at my house on Tuesday to serve me with court papers.  We'll see if that happens!

Like you, they said they are going to serve me today at my work and home. well they have a hell of drive. I live in TN and my employer is in GA! good luck on that one! As another person said, no one ever warns you that you are going to be served. and I they do. ok. fine, I already have a lawyer waiting!

I got the call today! This is not the first time. The first time was another co. all Pay day loan stuff. Please do not fall for these thieves. They are a SCAM. I've never taken out a loan from a Pay Day Loan, Cash Net ect., they were very rude. I point blank told them, SERVE ME, come to my house. The only thing that bothered me is they did have my SSI #...Don't give them any information. Be rude. Tell them to Kick Rocks..Give them the scare tactic. Idiots need to be put behind bars.

Need to call this number because I have been served.  What is going on, and how do we stop this. ???

Update on my first post! No validation of debt as of yet! No calls as of the 2nd of November! Has anyone hear anything more from them?

i rec. a call from this # too, they said they will issue a warrant for my arrest, do they really do that?

It's only a threat that they can't carry out.
Debt is a CIVIL matter, not CRIMINAL.
Just ignore all other calls from these SCAMMERS.
Go to ftc.gov and read the FDCPA and learn about your rights.
