- ClaytonYes the 855-616-1608 is a scammer. I called it back and they wanted all the information everyone is asking. I asked who the debt was with and he caught and attitude. So I asked for his address and contact number so my lawyer could get the information and pay them. He said there is no need. We will cease and stop with all calls. I then said of you are truly a debt collector you would want your money. He then proceed to cuss me out

- KristenI received a phone call from this number saying a debt was owed. When I callled back, I was hung up on by Josh and whoever is at ext 113. I requesting them to send me a collection notice and they would not do it unless I set up payment arrangements. I filed a complaint with MNS associates and if it doesnt get resolved immediately, I will take it to the Better Business Bureau or my state attorney.

They also called my mother and said they could not give any information without ssn. This is the number they leave in the voicemail... however this is the number that shows on my caller ID: 667-401-9999

- BigA replies to AmandaUsing the information CWG40 has posted on page 2 (which you should have seen and read), this is what you should do (you should send the "not me" letter, and your mother should send the debt validation letter)
You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- Not falling for this scam| 2 repliesFemale called today using my name stating she was calling for an asset verification for my sister. Wanted to confirm my home address was her primary residence of occupancy, stated they had SSN. Something about an enforceable review, a declare to demand notice, it was being expedited and should be received within 24-48 hrs. Stated I was hereby given notice and that should I have any questions to call 855-616-1608 and then gave a reference # 5244774. The call came in from a caller id # 916-476-8968.
