Get calls from this number periodically, sometimes before 9 AM. Since I don't recognize the number, I never answer the phone. No message is ever left.

Never leaves message. A telemarketer? Scammer? How do they get your no. if you are on the No Call list. That No call list doesn't help at all it seems!

I answered, expecting somebody else. They seemed surprised that I answered.
The call went immediately from auto-handling to manual. Heavy accent, east Indian,
they said: "hello this call may be recorded, am I speaking with (my name)?" - and then I hung up.
They didn't call back.

They claimed to be American Express.  I said they were in no way American Express and they hung up on me.  (Heavy Indian accent)

Left message for wrong first name, and correct last name of an Amex account in our household. Said it was Amex and we needed to call re. and urgent matter. I called regular Amex and they said that is not one of their numbers.

answered call from this name and got the "call may be recorded"  the person had Indian accent and asked for a female name I do not know.  I said wrong number.  He asked if I knew her?  I said know and he said goodbye.  Sounds like a debt collector.

Called my phone but left no voicemail message. I have received calls from this same number a few times in the past as well. I never answer numbers that I do not recognize.

This number calls often but they never leave a message. I called back form another phone and they said this call may be monitored. Then someone gets on the call claiming to be AMEX and wanted to know my name. I asked what office do they work out of because I work for AMEX also but they hung up on me.

These people need to get a life. They claim to be American Express in heavy India accents and say it's "reeeeeaally im-port-tant" that I call them.

I called them back and some woman simple said "hello?"

Received voicemail from a gentleman with a heavy Indian accent requesting a callback concerning my Amex account; left a reference number but requested to speak to either me or my ex-husband, divorce was final 6 years ago.

Called American Express on their customer service number instead to report the call, they turned the matter over to their Fraud department.

Received several calls awhile back claiming to be AMEX. I did not do my research and went ahead and set up a payment plan with them. They took me for almost $1000. When I received a call almost every day so far this month I decided to see who was calling because I did not recognize the number. I found this page. I called the number back and told them that I was dealing with my account straight with AMEX and he did not need to call me anymore. He told that the number was AMEX. I have now blocked the call. Because I have been scammed now several times I am starting to research everyone before I give my bank account information to anyone. Wish I would have seen this a few months ago. FRAUD ALERT!! AMEX -This number continually calls and harasses my elderly mother. They have told her they will condense her debt if she pays now. Also, there is a deadline.  She believed it and only because I take care of her accounts was she unable to give them anything.  I called them back and accused them of being fraudulent.They had no good answer though they try to make you believe they are contracted by AMEX. This would maybe be believable except a third part has there own company name. I contacted AMEX who agreed this is not a legitimate number nor a third party number to whom they use for debt collection. I reported it but I am disappointed that AMEX really doesn't do anything about it. They just tell you to use the number on the back of the card. Well, I did that but I want them to take more action. At a minimum do a better job of warning there customers. # 855-618-2435. Strong Indian accent  - Sounds like a room full of thieves.

Invest in call blocker. They are not expensive.
You can control who can call your mother.

Claiming they worked for American Express claiming it was a file against someone.

Called asking if I knew someone.  They gave the name of my first wife whom I have been divorced from for 17 years.  Once I said I haven't had contact in 17 years they hung up.  This is not AMEX.  It is a scam.

I just 5 calls between 9:32.02 and 9:32:22, Get a life!! I had already blocked the number after reading the comments here but before these calls came in, so it shows all 5 as being unanswered/blocked. Thank you Frontier Digital Fios for the call-blocker feature on my account.

Leaves a message stating he's from American Express and that it's important to call back. Heavy Indian accent. Called back the first time and said I knew they were not from AX and they hung up, but then started calling back again. Block this number. It's a scam.
