I just received a call from this number too.  Said there may have been a hold placed on my debit card.  I checked my account on line and all was fine.  It's a SCAM!

    THIS IS A FRAUDULENT CALL.

IF YOU GAVE THEM ANY INFO ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNT, CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CREDIT CARD AND ASK FOR THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT.  THESE ROBBERS ARE TRYING TO GET YOUR NUMBER.  THEY ARE WORKING SAINT LOUIS!!
    BELOW IS THEIR BALONEY MESSAGE:
"This is the fraud protection department at First Bank calling with an important message regarding your debit card. Please call us at 1-855-663-8674. A temporary hold may have been placed on your account and will be removed upon verification of activity.  Again that number is 1-855-663-8674. If you subscribe to our line or text alerts and have received and responded to an alert in the last 24 hours, please disregard this message. You may also review your account online at firstbank.com. We monitor your account activity 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to protect you from fraud activity. If you are calling from outside the United States you may contact us directly at 1-314-666-8664. Thank you."

Got a message from these people yesterday, 11/01/2014 at 3:40pm on my cell phone.  I didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voice mail.  Message did not identify a company at all... just an electronic voice saying a temporary hold may have been placed on my debit card and I need to call this number to verify activity.  Obviously I am not doing that.  I am also in St. Louis.

Yes, I did receive a call from the infamous 1-855-663-8674. It is so scam that is actually sick.
Those new digital era scammers don't even bother to talk to you (to scam you) they just leave it to a freaking real-sounding robo call....

This is now a well-documented scam.  See:

Also notice the Internet source in the background!  Documenting your call at 800notes.com DOES have an effect!

The attorney general (ag) for your state would be a good place to start, also report on this site to spread the warning.  Report as well to the bank or financial institution who's name their using, so they can warn their customers. Note: First bank is aware of the situation as stated on their true website, however if they use another bank name they may not be aware. Spread the word to family friends etc.so they dont fall victim to it. Thats the most I can think of, anyone else that has a suggestion of where to report please respond as well.

I got that call on my cell phone on 11/1/14.  I didn't understand a lot of what the recording was saying, but I got enough of it to know it was from a "bank" and if I was the cardholder to remain on the line.  I hung up.  Since then, my credit union has posted something on their website about the fraudulent calls and our local police department has done the same.

Left VM on cell, said that it was from First Bank and that I had a hold put on my account and I would have to give my card number to get the lock off. I don't bank with FB.
