Scam, do not cash!!!

All the people saying this is legit are part of the scam!

i got a check that has this number for 2400 what do i do

Didn't get a call, but received a basically unmarked envelope that says Payment Enclosed.  Opened it and it's what I thought to be a check from Sprint.  Weird thing is that the pay to the order of name says Sprint, but with my address.  And it has Bank of America printed on the check as well as my Sprint account number and my bank info numbers printed on the bottom.  This is quite fishy...

I call them and they sound bogus.  I gave them no info.

Next, I called the actual Bank of America.  They got the info and are forwarding it to their fraud/abuse department for investigation.  While talking with BoA they checked my bill pay for a transaction of the amount and date this 855-739-0856 number indicated and there is nothing like that in my account.

Hmmm...seems like SCAM.

They are scammers, plain and simple.  Don't even tell me you are on their side.  That would kill me.  Please.  People have to learn what to watch out for.  Especially after the Equifax thing.  I am constantly getting emails, phone calls, and now THIS from scammers.  Geez!  Let America know what is going on -- it's your duty...RISE UP!!

Any check received by US mail which appears fraudulent should be taken down to the local post office so that
the postal inspectors can take a look at it.  Never attempt to cash such checks.  This is most likely some sort of mail fraud.

I got a check for over $1400 from them. I called the number on the check and she said she was from Bank of America Online Bill Payment and the check was real but I was still skeptical because it didn't have a watermark on the back or BOA's logo so I called BOA. I had a tough time getting past the automated system because the account number printed on the check didn't come up in the system. When I was finally able to talk to someone I gave them all the numbers on the check and the name and address of the person who sent it to me. After running the numbers they told me it was fake and to shred it and if I had tried to cash I would have been arrested. The people at (855)739-0856 run a scam business they are not apart of Bank of America they have been trying to reach the source of this scam for years now. Please don't fall for it like I almost did.

The people at BOA should have told you to take the check and the envelope it came in to the Post Office so that it could be sent to the Postal Inspectors.

Its a scam i got one for 1400 so i called boa to verify the check after running the account number they told me to shred it and was happy i called first because i would have been arrested if i tried to cash it boa has been trying to locate the source of this scam for years

This is a scam. Why is every "check" paid to the order of "Chase Cardmember Services" & in the amount of $250.00? I called Chase & confirmed this is fraud, a phishing scam. I don't even write checks for bills so how could the account # on my check not be valid?

Got Check from Northern Trust of ( Payment Processing Center in Illinois) for $500, deposited and no problems.  That was  2 weeks ago , now another check for 3,750.  These amounts are same as my last 2 credit card payments to BofA.  I don't know why they are coming.  Also my credit card number is printed on Check, where did they get that? BofA hasn't bounced the check yet.  Check says 30 day to cash. No call yet, but highly suspicious.  Have not spent the $500 yet and wont cash new check till I get resolution of the problem.  Any Ideas?

Read the previous messages.  Here's my version.  Payed Credit Card (Visa) through  Bank of America online Bill Pay just like I've done for 10 years.  Check has my name  as sender and receiver.  WHY???  Check has my Credit Card number on it.  Northern Trust said they are processor only.  Bank of America customer service see's nothing wrong with my account , no unusual activity, all dollars are correct and did not send money back to me.  I am mixed up and don't know what to do.  Replies are confusing 50/50 for scam and legit.  The dollar value is too big to ignore, its EXACTLY amount of my credit card payment through Bill Pay and dated on same day of payment. I'll go to local Bank of America branch and get their version.  If its legit, why would Bank make me a gift of the last payment, they've never done this before.

I received a bad check from online banking bill pay and I called the phone number on the check ....they stated everything was fine but when I deposited the check it was not valid

OK the same thing just happened to me. We got a check in the mail and I didn't realize when I set up a bill pay to another account that it would come in the mail as a check instead of just being transferred into the other account. Duh, so glad I read more than one review on here instead of tearing up the check. Whew! Almost disastrous. So for me this was definitely legitimate, as I would have called my bank number instead of what was posted on the check.

This is a scam. I work for a collection agency and we are getting multiple checks from people from this place. They all bounce. What they do is send you check, you call asking why, they say whatever scam they come up with, and they have you verify your checking and account number. Bam they just stole your info, you go cash said check, and once it clears (temporarily) they go back in and take that money. Then a few days goes by and your out the scammed check plus the amount they stole from you.  I called them just now and told them they are a scam. I cannot believe they are still open especially when this was reported in 2015!!!

After compromising some of our information the SCAMMER is trying to get us to disclose more information that they need to complete other SCAMS with you being the intended victim. I called the number -First thing they ask is
" Are you calling about a check you received?"

Though the processing center is legit, the check can still be fraudulent. Scammers get access to unwitting consumer accounts via online banking and then send checks. We just received one here and the processing center did not recommend cashing it. The scam checks are usually in the $2-4,000 range. (Ours was for $3,450.) The bottom line is, if you're not expecting or have a legitimate reason to be receiving the money, then it's suspect.
