The call from telephone!-855-793-3214 is harassment to my telephone

I get these a lot, but I never return their call.  I have gotten calls like this before.  They are usually from people from India.  When I get these and I feel like playing with them, I call them back, then back again, then back again until they get tired of answering the phone.  I have called them sometimes 20 times.  The phone is always busy after about 5-6 times.  The tables were turned.  I started harassing them, and they didn't like it.

I'm not in the mood to play with them today.  They called me with a 317 area code (which I live in).  Don't fret these calls.  One time, I argued with the guy; and he told me that he would be issuing a warrant the next day.  I told him, "I will be looking forward to it."  They never showed up.  Go figure!!!  LOL!

Also, I work for a law firm; and I got a call there.  When I told them I work for a law firm and they called me at work, they hung up on me.

I received a call, didn't answer. Person left message stating his name is Joe Jackson (original) calling from M&S Associates, and he is calling regarding a case that is linked to my social security # and my address. thank you to everyone for the posts. The number listed above was the number he left as a call back. However, the number he called from registers as a number in Tampa, FL area. 813-327-5179

same here, 7 calls in the past month leaving messages about "a case linked to my ssn and address". I don't call back since it's a scam, and I figure they would've sent a certified document via postal mail if it was legit. Just tired of the harassment. I block every new number they call from, but they keep using new numbers. Mainly from 813-327-51XX.

Identified themselves as debt collector and stated paperwork has been sent to my home address and messages sent to my cell phone with no response on my part.  Also stated I must call them by 1PM today or action will be taken.  Tried calling them back several times but no answer.  Looked up on Google and apparently this is not a good number.

That address in New York seems to have at least 3 or 4 criminal debt collectors associated with it.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I have been reciving calls from the same number and people I would like to know when they will stop as well

I have been receiving phone calls all week.  I do not answer numbers I do not know, so they have left me several voice mails.  Every time they call it is a different local 443 number.  443-863-5323 and 443-843-5215 mostly.  They leave angry voice mails each time saying it is urgent that I come in and fill out some tax form, its some guy named "Jim" who works for MS&Associates.  Not once do they ever state my name and they insist they have sent me correspondence to my home address, which is not accurate.  The call back number was 855-793-3214.  I assumed it was a scam since I have no discrepancies with my taxes or debt.  Now I am certain.

Did not know number  on the cell phoneso I let it record a message from a man with an un accented somewhat high voice. Not much came through but part of a different phone number and something about "your file."

First I got email and now he call and wanted to talk to me about my case. Last time he said I need a lawyer.

Threatening phone message -- this time about a pending 1099C, not about collection. Thank you all for posting these stories, so I  could tell it was a scam, that is some scary phone message! (How can these people live with themselves?)

A man using the name Jack Myers from M&S Associates calling from 980-224-6295 say'n it has something to do with a 1099 and my SS#. Whats me to return his call at 855-793-3214. What a dumb dick he is !!!!

This "company" has been blowing up my phone lately.  What's funny is the guy can't even keep his own name straight.  Two calls last week he said his name was John Myers.  Now this week he has been calling and his name is now Jeff Myers.  Leaving messages saying there is am issue with my 1099-c from 2015 Fiscal year. He doesn't say who he is looking for.  It's quite hilarious.  I didn't file a 1099-c, and the IRS does not work in "fiscal" terms.

This is still active. The guy called my wife's phone. He never said her name. In fact, th message could have been pre-recorded and left for anyone. He said they sent stuff. He said his name is Jack Meyers, who knows if that's true. He said a case was filed last week and needed to speak to her today. He said the company name M and S associates. he also gave the same number. I googled the number and found this.

I have three same story.  This guy has been calling but he doesn't say my name.  He left a message saying he's going to be filling a 1099c on my 2015 taxes! What a dumb ass!

Beware! this is a scam call - phishing to be exact. They have been calling and leaving threating messages for a number of different made up stories. They are capable of far more than that as they seemed to have found out the names of some of my contacts and calling me by their names so as to elicit a natural reaction.
