I worked there before and everything you are saying is not true, they actually help you, on your credit you do have debt but they just Lower the balance down because they know you won't pay 10000000 dollars so if they do that with every account, their company gains money, I just want to find a way to sue them because my checks came out low and that's why I quit. I need help to learn to sue them

I am currently working for them, everything you have said is so far true except the part where they use your social and your credit card, because I know. They are a collection agency, they do use vocabulary that they are not suppose to be using at all, they are supposes to be just a normal collection agency where they call you tell you, you have debt and you need to pay but they actually do lower your balance out and they do put it as a (you payed in full) just the stuff they say is not legal, I am in the proses of quiting but I wanna sue John silva and Richard west because they have rip me of my checks (witch is your money you pay) dialers (witch are the people that call you) get a percent of what you pay, the office gets another and the closers (witch are the people that tell you you are getting sued) get another part. I wanna know how to sue him. Take the chance that I'm in there to do so. Help anyone?

While I applaud your efforts to rid yourself of ties to an unethical "company," you have to be aware that your vocabulary belies your position.  Given what I just read, it's hard to believe that anyone would hire you to speak with their victims.  Sorry but I neither believe you nor do I believe that this is any form a legitimate collection agency.  It and you seem like a SCAM.

Okay, obviusly you didn't read the the part where I said I'm trying to sue them? If I was a "scam" I wouldn't know so much. If anything you're just traumatized, you probably think your own mom is a scam. Lol but anyways yes I do work there. Believe me or not I have info to bring them down because WE are a collection agency, (not a law firm) just a collection agency that says we are a law firm just to get the people to pay. Obviusly when sometimes call you in to tell you, you owe bill for this amount they are not really going to pay but if we say they are getting sued for that amount and we can help them out then of course they think we are helping them out but instead we just get a small portion of the balance they are willing to pay. You are probably a scam. Haha

Hey guys, I just spoke with them and everything seems legit. I dont know if you guys have a problem paying back money you owe but the call I received from both Anthony Mendez and Richard Westwood gave me their address, phone number and complete contact info. As per the FTC document - scammers typically dont do this!

yes someone called me from a unknown number....also contacted my wifes nephew....then actually contacted my wife. the phone number was....513-452-8173....Apparently this was from a old credit card debt...that was charged off years ago,  going to run a phone search on it here in a couple of minutes......they claim this is from a company called; WESTPOINT GROUP....seems they have numerous offices in Indianapolis Indiana

John Silva...according to a nexus search...is the president of Goliath Financial....I believe. ..that they buy old debts...for not even pennies on the dollar....I maintain they or this group will stop at nothing short to try and collect on any type of debt....do not give them any information at all...I mean don't give them like your date of birth, address, or the last 4 numbers of your social if they have you phone number, then that should be good enough...tell them you wish to be sent a statement...if they ask you for your address...tell them if you are a respectable company, then they should have it...do not give it...If they claim you are going to be served...then they should already have you address....phone numbers seem to be very accessible these days...If they claim that they have examine your Credit Report...then your address is on there. DO NOT GIVE IT!!!!

When a collection agency calls you...the thing that really bugs them is :1. Ask them who owns the account.
                            2. Ask them how much did this collection agency pay to get this account.

             3. Major Companies do their own collections....when they charge off accounts this is where collection agencies come into play...if they say they are representing what ever company it may be....If they say like...they can improve your credit and fico score if you pay.....tell them to state that in a letter with a company Logo and address...if they reply they don't  do mail outs...this should be a clue.  States very in collection activity...If you have any doubts...contact the original creditor and ask them who they sold or out sourced the account to...and start there...for example in Texas....creditors cannot garnish wages, or file leans on your property...they can sue...but it's more of a hastle for them...any other State look up info on the State attorney general Web site...start writing letters of rebutal like crazy to the collection agency in question, demand a very comprehensive and detailed accounting for all charges...send it certified return receipt...and keep it.  Start a file.  If they call you...chances are you will be talking to a real idiot.  Give them some three or 4 weeks. Write them again. And again.  Keep sending them certified return receipts...If they harass you...well look up your state laws...Collection agencies can be sued...you can go to your municipal court and have them summund there is a small fee, if they call you from out of state...then they have
come from out of state.  The last thing
Collection agencies want to do, is go to to court, hence settlement...do not settle...If your being perused by a collection agency, then your credit  report already has a negative entry...if the debt is legitimate now....a settlement may be worse entry than paying it....look up your state laws...No Collection Agency can improve your Credit Score.  Settlement will state on your credit report Settlement Paid .....which...can be more of  a negative mark than unpaid...if you are in dispute with a creditor or collection agency....contact the credit reporting companies that you are in dispute of their claim...this might help...and it might not...send them all copies of letters and receipts ( certified return receipts from mail outs and state that they were not responsive)....And most of all....never ever pay a collection agency...when they call some state laws have mandated that collection companies must state that : " this is a attempt to collect on a debt....Yada Yada yadda"  reply: that I am refuting this debt, and any thing gathered will be used for this debt.  If they sue you...well be honest with you self is this a legit debt??  Try and stay with the principle of the debt of the original creditor....state to the court as to how much was this debt purchased for. Keep the principle separated from the interstate accrued ....most courts are interested in principle...keep copies of all correspondences.  And try if you can record all phone calls...contact cell phone companies about how to do this...if you have a land line...you can purchase recording equipment...Let the collection agency know you are recording this conversation.   Don't  be bullied.

Contacted on 04/23/15 @ 10:15 AM EST by Chris O Brien of West Point Corporate office, demanding payment of $2000
for an old credit card account that doesn't belong to me. He began rudely asking for personal and financial info, which I
didn't give them.   He threatened to send a process server.  Offering this info as a public service, telling others to beware.

This exact thing happened to me! The person who called me was ROBERT ARCHULETTA. They scared me into believing I was being sued, and I could settle for a lesser amount, but only if I paid while on the phone! Now I'm going to have to close my account, change automatic deposits, get new debit cards, etc....I AM FURIOUS! Do NOT fall for this SCAM like I did!

Do not pay these people, they are a scam. Wayne swanson jr, john silva, jeff hapsas, richard west all ie scumbags. Google their names, harass them on their phones and at their homes. They change the name of their collection companies to avoid sites like these and get people to pay them. They wont sue you check the court records, westpointe group is never a plaintiff. Call or write letters to the ftc - federal trade commission and get them shut down and out of collections forever!
