I keep getting calls form this number daily!

I'd think that if you have proof of that, you ought to be able to take them to small claims court, at least recover the money you sent them, plus court costs.  Of course they may not pay, at which point you'd have to go back to court and find a way to attach their assets.

There actually IS a Credence Resource Management <www.credencerm.com> that comes up in a search engine, which lists debt collection as one of their services, also mentions payments to Southgate, MI.  I did Not visit their site, but at least they seem to have at least an online presence.
This doesn't seem to excuse the number of wrong numbers they call seeking people long gone, but they may be a bottom tier company that feeds on old debt that nobody else has been able to collect.

On searching Credence with the BBB, I got a choice of MI or TX, chose the MI and got info on the company in Texas, listed below:

Credence resources management showed up on my credit report and when I called to see why they wanted my ss#. When I refused to give my ss they said that they don't show anything on my name and address.

Guy with Indian accent just like the others.  Asking for my son.  I took message.  I think they have called before.  I told them this was not his number.  Sounds like we are in for more calls.  Definitely won't be paying anything.

This is fake ignore the call they have no USA operations all calls are routed from India and all mailing is sent to a forwarding address in America then forwarded to India big SCAM

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Same thing! They told me my debt was given to them in July of 2015. The thing is, I paid that debt to the original debtor in February of 2015! I took a screen shot of my confirmation at the time and I'm glad I did because these people would not stop hounding me about the debt. I have a feeling it's some sort of scam. I'm not following up with them until I speak to the original debtor. I have Anthem Insurance and it was hacked this past spring so I have a feeling it is coming from this.

They just keep calling and never leave a message.  I also believed they had someone from their company call me at 11:30p.m. from a cell phone.

This company calls every morning, including every Sat. and Sun. and continue to call even though we aren't who they are looking for.

Yes nope is actually right. There is a company by the name Credence Resource Management and their main office is in San Jose, CA. They are a 3rd party debt collection agency with quite a few American cos as their clients. Viz At & t, T-Mobile, American medical response etc. The job is outsourced to India (hence the Indian accent) but looks they are legit. So put your fears at rest & deal with them once & for all. If you don't have any debts tell them so in a precise & deliberate manner (they might have understanding the American accent) & they should not bother u no more. Hope this helps....

They called and left a message for me to call back. After reading the comments they won't be getting a call back.

Unknow of this number

This number calls my cell phone and house phone at least 10 times a day... VERY ANNOYING, I have reported this number and we are on the DONOTCALL list.  Don't know what to do.....I have looked up this number on computer and the complaints are numerous......

First of all Debt Collectors do not fall under the DNC. They fall under the FDCPA laws instead.  The information on this company is posted above in CWG40's and Big A's posts. See my  post above and follow the steps in what you need to know, send them a C&D via USPS certified, return receipt mail.
