- AnonymReceived a call today from an investigator Wanda from Bailey Rowe and Associates, ph# 855-967-6218, claiming I owe a payday loan to Kenwood Services from September 2010. When I questioned the validity, they did not have any information. The I asked them why does their name come up in a fraud alert database, and the lady responded " wow" and hung up the phone. DO NOT ENTERTAIN THESE FOOLS!

- F3NIX| 1 replyGot a call today from these guys. Same routine...I have to pay them or they are going to forward the info to the courts and i will be charged with 2 counts of fraud. They almost had me paying them, but it just didnt feel right. Made her wait on the line until I got home and googled the name of the company and found this thread.
What a hoax. I know this debt was paid back in 2009. If I still owed Cash Now $1100.00 they would have contacted me before this time.I asked for documentation and they said it was past that stage, it was too late for documentation and that it was a "Time Sensitive Situation" and the paperwork was going to be sent to the courts tomorrow. I made her wait for over 5 mins while I goggled this thread, then got on and layed into her. Told her that I knew what she was up to and that I was reporting her and I hung up.

- I.E.I received a call from Bailey and Rowe claiming I owe a debt from M1Y Direct. The called from a (713) area code, but stated they were in North Caroline. They could not provide the contact number for the initial vendor. I stated it's false and that everything was settled 3 years ago. The representative claimed MY1 had made multiple attempts to contact me which wasn't true. Two week prior I received a call from a Lance claiming to be with The Department of Legal Services stating I owe M1Y Direct money. Same story. I refused to provide any information and told them to go ahead a process whatever they needed to and we would meet in court if necessary.

- JessiHave been called 3 to 5 times a day from a local area code number. I finally answered and it was a lady from Bailey and Rowe Associates stating I had a breech of contact and theft by check and bank fraud and would be taking me to court if I did not pay a sum of 500$. They said it was for a company called Cottonwood for a pay day loan. I have never heard of this company. I have asked them repeatedly which loan compant it was through and they would never tell me. I know I have had pay day loans I have paid off. But they where threw Cash stores and Check N Go. I finally told them that I was reporting them for fraud. Does any one know how I can check if I have un paid pay day loans and how to go about taking care of them?

- Daisy Mae replies to JBANJBan, that's freaking AWESOME! I've been getting these ridiculous calls for about 4 years. I usually don't answer but if I'm in a feisty mood and want to argue; I'll answer and they always end up hanging up on me because I start spouting the FDCPA. Of course, they say they aren't libel under the FDCPA and I just read the definition of "debt collector" in the FDCPA. I agree with you, they are passing our information around the crack house or shooting gallery, whatever the heck drugs these jack-as*es are using. One time, I called one of them back 5 times in a row asking for their address so I could send them a Cease and Desist and the dumb broad first tells me "we don't give out our address cuz of people like you" and then the last time I called, I get "I don't know who you are, but stop calling here". I replied "I'll make a deal with you; I'll stop calling you if you stop calling me trying to extort money out of me". I think she had trouble with the definition of "extort", though. They called my cell 8 times on Saturday, today about 8 times on my work phone and just left a message this last time. I swear, they better hope I'm not in a mood next time because they shall be sorry they dialed my number, for sure!!
- Daisy Mae replies to ValVal, if Ms Strong calls back, remind her to look in the mirror next time to see who is actually perpetrating a fraud. When/if these jerks are ever caught; I will fly to wherever the heck the courthouse is and laugh my rear end off when they're all there dope sick because they didn't get their daily shot of heroin while sitting in the can because they couldn't afford bail.. As for the man who wouldn't identify himself, please, do tell him you know what kind of person HE is. Frigging POS's all of them. I work in security detection and I know there are ways to find these idiots and I just want to know WHY they get to keep going?! If they're getting phone numbers from Magic Jack or whatever, why doesn't Magic Jack do something to keep people from getting phone numbers that easily?! I would imagine we all have to wait until some Senator's relative starts getting these calls before anything is done. God bless America! Got to love the scum of the earth opportunists these jerks are. I don't understand how these jerks sleep at night.
- Another Scam Number| 2 replies855-414-6205 Called to find out why they were calling my 15 year old childs phone. They wanted her name and I told them I don't think so she is a minor. Ask for her number to be removed from their calling list. Yes I said calling list because that is what she said to me. If it was legitimate they would have had to pull up the file on the number and put it in as a wrong number for whom ever they were trying to contact. But no she said, "may I have the number so that I can remove it from our calling list". Yep scam scam scam...

- Scott replies to Another Scam Number| 1 replyGot a call from 855-414-6205 I could barely hear the girl as she told me she was some investigator and I had committed medical fraud from 2006 in Texas (which at that time I lived there) I went back and forth with this lady asking for proof of the debt.. she refused.. just kept saying if I didnt settle it then the lawyer was going to ask for $2500, when she said medical fraud, ill admit.. I was scared.. I asked for her supervisor.. she refused.. I asked for proof of the debt.. she refused.. I stated that I work for a rental company and know my rights, I have asked for your supervisor.. you have refused.. I have asked for proof of the debt.. you refused.. I aint giving you a &#%^^% dime!! and I hung up on them.. however I did start to worry and called back.. talked to someone different who said I could settle the debt.. I asked for the amount and he said $500.. well now I got a little curious.. no lawyer is going to file a small claims asking for $2000 in legal compensation.. no judge would grant such an order.. foolishly I updated my address with them and agreed to pay.. to which Jaime tells me he can settle my debt for $386 if I pay today.. well now im really interested in this.. so I tell him I cant do it today but that ill call back with my credit card.. When I called them back I talked to Misty and informed her that I had contacted my lawyer and that she had stated that her company had been reported as fraudulent.. I was put on hold.. after a few min I hung up. Shame on me.. I should have known better.. for one folks.. debt collection is a civil matter.. not a criminal.. they can only ask for the amount of the debt plus REASONABLE fees.. I really hope that people will do what I did and research them.. they ALMOST got me.. dont let em fool you.. FAIR DEBT COLLECTIONS ACT of 1977.. read it..

- Concerned Citizen| 4 repliesI thought that it was a scam too. I cursed the lady out and all until I checked with my bank and saw that I actually had the loan deposited into my account. After finding out that information I felt really low and called back and made a payment. Come on now we know whether or not we owe a debt or we can do our research and find out. Being honest we don't review the reviews on the loans when we take them out we don't care whether they're good or bad.

- Gunnar replies to Concerned CitizenWe do our research here. We can spot a SHILL for a fraud-shop a mile away. You're one of them.
Would you like to know our best methods for exposing frauds such as yourself? It's simple. We simply ask you a couple of questions. We ask for an address. You will NOT provide a valid physical address. We ask if you've mailed a notice of validation to the supposed "debtor". You will NOT comply with federal law & do so.
A wary consumer can neuter you jokers by simply knowing his/her rights under the FDCPA. You are nothing more than pitiful scammers attempting to collect invalid, time-barred or purely fictitious debt. In your case, I suspect it's all the latter. You have nothing but vague information on your targets. Which you are trying to turn in to money because you're incapable of attaining or keeping a legitimate job.
Skeff Ett Liv!
Gunnar - BigA replies to Concerned Citizen| 1 reply"I checked with my bank and saw that I actually had the loan deposited into my account. " "Come on now we know whether or not we owe a debt "
So what you are saying is that you took out a "loan", had it deposited into your bank account, and then completely forgot you took out the loan and had to call the bank to see if the money was there? So suffering from the effects of early onset Alzheimers? How can you claim to be a "responsible citizen" and not know that you took out a loan? Maybe because you had no plans to pay it back? Guess that would make you an "unresponsible citizen" then.
""we don't review the reviews on the loans when we take them out " How about trying that in the English language please because otherwise you have just proved yourself the fool.
By the way, how much did they say they were going to pay you for this post and then my next question would be; "How high did the check bounce?" - Hydra Watcher replies to BigAThe post from "concerned citizen" was nothing more than an attempt to deceive consumers by creating confusion, uncertainty, and misunderstanding.
Even if the call recipient did owe a loan, that does not mean that the entity who called owns that debt --- "concerned citizen" would simply like anyone his outfit calls to fork over how much money they demand for whatever reasons ASAP and will use all kinds of illegal threats of arrest to do just that.
