- ec replies to Diana McCaffreyIgnore their ridiculous threats and report them to federal and state law enforcement:
1) File a complaint with your local police. (Many police departments can take a complaint such as this over the phone.) Be sure to tell them that you're being harassed by an extortionist who is calling you and demanding money. File a complaint each time they call you.
2) File a complaint online with the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Include in your report the same information about how these crooks trying to extort money from you.
3) File a complaint with the consumer protection division of your state's attorney general. The contact for each state's attorney general is at www.naag.org
4) File a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission at https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01
If these crooks call you again, just ignore their threats and tell that you know they're a criminal operation and that you've reported them to the FBI and your local police. And make fun of their accents--they love that. :) - tm| 1 replySome guy called me at my job from 856-831-0640 and the first thing he said was “I am processing your name in the system. It will load in 24-48 hrs for a Loan I took out in 2005. He was going to have an affidavit written up for my arrest” At first that kind of hit me hard, but when I went online and entered the number BAM it was a scam.

- Dawn| 1 replyon 4/2/08 around 5:00 pm I received 3 calls in a row from 1-856-831-0640, the first time there was no message, the 2nd time it seemed like "David Jones" had forgotten the script & cut off part way into the message. The 3rd time he left me a message advising that me or my atty was to call him the 2nd I recv'd the message regarding a time sensitive issue and that if I didn't call him asap then all he could do was wish me good luck, the phone # he gave me to call was 1-949-982-1305. The person who left the message had a very thick accident and he sounded almost like an automated message. Because I had a really bad experience with something like this several years ago, I immediatly checked out the phone numbers. thank god for this website, now that I know that it is another scam, I reported him to the FBI & my AG's office. I tried to call the number back to advise that he had been reported, but the mailbox was full. Oh well, I'll just ignore the call's from now on.

- ec replies to payday loan scamsHere's a news article about the Florida-based scam that you're attorney mentioned: http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/120107/met_221875639.shtml
And this is a copy of the Florida attorney general's complaint: http://myfloridalegal.com/webfiles.nsf/WF/JFA ... sComplaints.pdf (Note the many company names they hide behind.)
At the moment, these same Florida-based scammers are using the name States Predisposition Services, which they rushed to incorporate in Georgia just days before the Florida attorney general filed the complaint against their other operations in Florida. One of their addresses in Georgia is just a rented mailbox at a UPS Store and the other, in Folkston, Georiga, is probably not an operation center either.
There are plenty of reports on 800Notes.com about Evelyn & Frank Jackson's States Predisposition scam...here are a few:

For some reason, it seems to take many complaints before federal and state law enforcement take action on consumer-related complaints. But once they do take action, the come down hard (as the Florida attorney general did against the Bass Prelitigation scam last summer.) So if these crooks call you again, be sure to report them again to the feds and your attorney general.
Hope this helps. - BobBE VERY CAREFUL THESE ARE NOT REAL COLLECTION/FINANCIAL CALLS!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY LOCATED IN INDIA/PAKASTAN AND ARE ROUTING THERE CALLS THROUGH NJ, NY, AND MD. THEY GATHER INFORMATION OFF THE INTERNET AND CONTACT YOU BASED ON OLD FINANCIAL INFORMATION. MOST OF THESE ARE PRETEND COLLECTION CALLS FROM A FAKE FEDERAL AGENCY THAT DOES NOT EXIST! THEY USUALLY STATE THAT THE NEED MONEY TODAY OR YOU WILL BE SENT TO JAIL. AS WE KNOW AND I TELL THEM FREQUENTLY...THIS IS AMERICA THERE ARE NO DEBTORS PRISON IN AMERICA. ALSO YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THE SIMPLE FACT THAT THEIR NAMES ARE ALWAYS DON BROWN, MARK STANELY, OR SOME "AMERICAN" NAME THEY READ OFF THE INTERNET. BEFORE THE MAILBOX WAS CONTINULLY FULL I TOOK MATTERS UNTO MYSELF AND CALLED THEM NON STOP FOR 4 HOURS (THEY CALLED ME AT WORK) UNTIL I GOT ONE OF THE YAHOO'S TO ADMIT IT WAS A SCAM!!!! THEY STOPPED CALLING ME UNTIL JUST RECENTLY WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT THERE MAILBOX WAS FULL THEY STARTED UP AGAIN. IF THIS WERE AN ACTUAL GOVERMENT AGENCY THEY WOULD CONTACT YOU VIA CERTIFIED MAIL AND LEGALLY (DEPENDING ON THE STATE YOU ARE IN) YOU ALWAYS HAVE 30 DAYS OR MORE TO RESPOND. I HAVE REPORTED THEM TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF EACH STATE LISTED ABOVE (THEY HAVE LITTLE RECOURSE SINCE THEY ARE NOT IN THE US OTHER THAN TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE LISTED GOVERNMENTS). PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY OR INFORMATION!!!!!

- LOWEI have been receiving calls from these people for weeks now. I do not answer them as i know it is a scam. for any others that rec these calls, stay calm and just dont answer or hang up and report them immediately!!!! Always remember, no one can arrest you for an unpaid bill!! i have contacted both my attorney and the surgeon general about this. This is not the first scam of this sort . but i can tell you it has an awful lot to do with United Cash Loans. to be honest i truely think that if you have ever taken out an internet loan with these people that the company or someone in the company has sold ss#'s. i am going to do more research because United Cash Loans comes up way to much connected with these phone calls. i will leave an update later!!!!
- lowesorry meant attorny general not surgeon general (ha ha ha )
- sjcHappened 3 months ago at work. They sound Indian, said I took out a payday loan in 2005 and say I owe $1800. Demanding payment or I will be arrested. After asking them to mail me documentation that of what they say I owed, they never called back until today. They claim they email it to me (wich it probably went to my junk mail) because I've never seen anything. They said I had until 5pm today or warrants will be issued tomorrow morning. That my employer will be notified becuase I used my work computer. In defense I would not give out personal info; I only made them repeat what info they had. I will file a complaint, thanks for the information.

- privateLike the previuos notes have said " Ask them for their information and they will terminate the call. This is a SCAM-SCAM-SCAM!
The calls are annoying, but don't let them break you, when you know you have done nothing wrong. The one time I called and got someone on the phone the guy stuttered over his words, b/c he knew someone by the name of Kevin Jones (didn't work there). Please write your letters to everyone you can think of, States Attorney for your local, BBB, Consumer affairs, let's stop them.- Caller: don't know
- private replies to wish you good luck!I'm lol, b/c this is the same exact vm I received day after day from some Indian Non speaking person. They are crazy and I have reported them to many agencies.
I sympathized with the person that sent them $500 dollars. That's free money for these scammers. - unavailable replies to getting very angry| 2 repliesI agree with this person. How do we know Angela is a law person. Please provide more information. These people are in some type of call center, and no collection agency if legitimate would say the things this idiot says.

Phone Number Owner: Ricky Simmon & Leo Walkers
Phone Number Report: The call was listed on my caller id as 856-831-0640 and the number that was given to me by Leo to call back was 949-743-1156. A so-called Rick from US National Bank began the phone call telling me that this was a serious legal matter and I had 3 charges against me. He then placed 'officer' Leo Walkers on the line that began to tell me all the trouble I was in and that he had my credit report. He was actually able to give me my bank account # yet he was not able to tell me which PayDay Loan companies I had supposedly not paid. After he went on about my info being downloaded the next day and a warrant being issued for my arrest he gave me an option of paying $950 on my amount to be paid of $2662. After the call my friend went online and saw all the reports of fraud for this phone number/company. I followed the the steps that other victims of this harassment went through. Hopefully the company will be stopped and the crap will end.- Caller: US National Bank

- Pissed of Coloradan| 1 replySo, just so everyone is clear - what these guys are going is very illegal. I have gotten tons of calls from them over the past year or so, which started not too long after I started using payday loans from time to time. They scared me once after I declared bacnkruptcy, but now my lawyer is in it. We did some digging after they called and threatened to send someone to my place and work and embarress me in front of my colleagues or send police to my home and scare my family and friends. Ive also gotten calls of them threatening my life. These calls all sound like others on here - from some indian man or woman claiming to be an investigator and usually you can barely understand them because they are also messing their voice with some machine or something - you can tell.
Anyway, according to my lawyer harrassment like this is against the law. According to US law, it is illegal to threaten, lie, claim they are police when they are not, and threaten to sue or arrest you if they arent planning to within 24 hours. This includes companies that go outside the US to get groups like these to collect money since the debt was made in the US. However, we believe that these people are not even hired by some company. We think they are a group of people that buy your information from online payday loan places so they can sollicit you for info and steal your money and even your identity. You probably do not own anything but as long as you have done business with a payday loan, these other people have your info. Have you noticed that YOU have to provide them YOUR info when you call? All of it? A real agency would have your info already. Plus, if they were going to sue or arrest you, you'd get prior notification in the mail for a suit or they would judt show up with a local police officer with no warning since they wouldnt want you to run. So dont give out your info because they can then steal your identity and/or steal your money. These people are CON ARTISTS!!!!!!!
My lawyer had talked to them. I have tons of times and we keep trying to get their real name of the business because US National Bank is fake and their address. My lawyer wants to issue them papers to sue. Every time we ask they are like, let me get the manager (or whatever it is cause I dont understand their jabble) and then they are like, you gotta call some other number...so last time I told them i wasnt going to call their long distance number because I knew they were frauds and I was going to sue them and shut down their $2 an hour company and take their food from their mouths and put them in jail where they belong where big men could make them their girlfriends. I said, get me your info if you want this settled and I can guarantee I'll have my lawyer and tons of cops on your doorstop within 24 hours. The guy said his manager would call me back....guess what?! He didnt. Knew that was coming.
Just be careful everyone. Dont give out your info. Be mean to them all you want because what they are doing is illegal and they cant touch you. And from now on, if you gotta use payday loans use the ones in your neighborhood rather than online because they would sell your first born to these people if they could.- Caller: CON ARTISTS 3000

- Pissed Off Coloradan replies to yesterday call| 1 replyIf you havent already you may want to change your banking info that you gave them because they've also been known to start using that info to make random purchases and charge again and again. It's also a way to steal your identity so you may want to go to the credit reports and put a watch on your social too. Its free.
