Recieved call from no 859 215 0043 from a Jacob foster claiming I had a pending case against me .said if he didn't hear from me or my attorney by day's end I would be arrested on check fraud concerning an outstanding payday loan is this a real number or a scam?

Got the same message from Jacob Foster with a call back number of 859-215-0043

Called me today saying the same [***]. That I would get arrested for a pending case agaist me. So when I told him that my cousin was a police officer. He hung up.SMDH

This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I have been receiving these same phones calls, same  threats. This guy said his name is Jacob foster some type of mediation company collecting for a payday loan company but fail to give the company name. The  scary part he has full name , my ssn,  birthday ,old address tho. I will be reporting this to the attorney general and notifying the credit bureau. It's income tax season scammers everywhere.

Answered and a recorded message starts to play. The persons name on the message is Jacob Foster calling about a legal matter. Last I checked if you were being sued or had a legal matter you had to be served in person not over the phone. These POS are looking to scam anyone that is stupid enough to give them money. Just ignore the call and add the phone number to your auto reject list.

Just received a call from this number, claiming to be Mediation Services. I called back the 859-904-1028 number, only to be placed on eternal hold, after I explained to the clueless receptionist what I was calling in regards to. Definetly a scam, I blocked the number.

when i returned their call, got a TERRY LEWIS and after she said that the last 4 numbers of my SSN does not match, I immediately knew they were phishers and wanted to scare me into giving them more personal information.   They would not divulge their company and kept on being rude and overlapping conversations with EXCUSE ME EXCUSE ME DONT INSULT ME ILL SEND THIS TO COURT.  [***] them.

These calls are most likely coming from prison inmates on illegal cell phones or their families looking to scare & scam people. It's tax time & making an honest living is to hard for them.

I have been getting calls from this number for years now. They will leave me alone for months at a time and then start calling again . Just got another call. So I called them and asked th to remove me from their list. The lady said they are looking for me with my name (kinda jacked it up) and I said yes that is me. And she said we will remove you and then hung up on me. I am not sure but they may be required by law to remove you if you ask or tell. Take your pick

Ya they call and say its for a family member with an account going to a criminal court with law suits and if we don't call soon they will be taken to jail . when called back they act like they don't know what you're talking about .

I will be heading to area in two weeks to visit family and i hope to have an address of where these chicken-[***] people are so i can pay them a visit and talk with them up close and personal like.

Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.
