- Smart enoughMan called his name was Ricky. (had an accent) Said that they were from Windows and that our computer was having a problem. When asked which computer he could not tell me. I asked him if he had his Windows open right now. He said he did and can see mine were having trouble. I told him if he shut his windows he wouldn't see a thing and he would be much warmer. He hung up after I called him a bunch of cuss words. Stupid scammers.

- Bill replies to CSCSame exact thing just happened to me. He was very angry as I led him on for 10 minutes until he asked what the message was on my computer, it wasn't vet nice
- Johncoloradocome on... if you don't recognize the number just ignore it. If it's legit they'll leave a message. If they keep annoying you get Mr. Number app for your cell phone. It's free and you can control who you put on the block list. Home phone? Most providers offer call blocking. If you have caller id you probably have or can get call blocking.
- EllenI had a guy call my cell phone with a foreign accent saying he was from Geek Squad and that my computer had been hacked. He wanted me to log onto my computer so he could 'show me' how it was hacked. When I asked him to explain more, he hung up.

- LindsayMan with a heavy Indian asking me where I lived, my date of birth, personal questions about my family, questions about my computer and tablet (I don't even have tablet), and then eventually asked me to sleep with him. Didn't give him any information, though...He also said his name was Bob...YEAH. RIGHT. Same number also called my son who (thankfully) did not answer.

- FranHe claimed to be from Microsoft and tried to get me to let him connect to my computer, Heavy Indian accent. First called from "Unknown caller" and called me back when I hung up on him - calling from this number. Microsoft website says it's a scam to get your private info like bank log in info or to sell a lifetime of support for one easy payment of a few hundred bucks. He got angry with me when I continued to question him. I blocked the number. Just want others to know.
- Caller: Scammer
- Frustrated and angrySaid they were from Geek Squad - knew both my cell and home number. Unbelievable
Call ID indicated it was from Bristol,CT- Caller: "Geek Squad", supposedly
- JillianThis is a fishing telemarketing group. They use auto dialers. They claim that your computer is sending error messages. They ask you to open files on your computer (specifically the "event viewer") This will always show error messages as a log. They ask you to try to delete one (you can't by design) so they tell you that this indicates that your computer is infected. They offer a common very long ID that is in most computers as the identifier for your specific machine. They claim that this is somehow linked to your phone number (it is not, they use auto dialers). My spouse is a software engineer so we had a hilarious time trying to figure out what they were actually trying to achieve. They claim to be "Geek Services" they denied working for Microsoft or Best Buy. When challenged for information they were quite rude and unhappy. We spoke to at least two different people. One even told my spouse "shut up moron" and that he was an [***]. My spouse being an [***] to them was the only true thing that they spoke!
- Caller: Geek Services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Capt BartySame deal. Guy called, purportedly from the Geek Squad, hired by Microsoft. Said our computer had downloaded files and was going to blow up and be destroyed, etc. My wife got the call and just led him on with concerned "Oh, Really?" , kept him going and ended the call with "We don't use Microsoft. HA,Ha!" She didn't mention that we a) use Linux; and b) She knows enough about Windows to be ON the REAL Geek Squad.
- Scam StopperWoman claimed to be Geek Squad. Gave some common number (see description below video in this link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgVOfQU5aWM) in order to sound legit. Called me stupid when I said I would just call Microsoft Tech Support if I needed help with anything. Hung up after getting angry. SCAM!!
- network-guy replies to SusanI was called on my personal cell phone while I was at work the other day. With an accent from India, he claimed my Windows 7 computer with IP address 192.168.X.XXX had contacted them at Geek Support. I questioned him, thinking he had said Geek Squad, but he repeated Geek Support. I was livid. I told him that I was a network support person and what he told me was a local network IP address that he had mentioned, it wasn't routable across the Internet, and that he was making it up. He wanted me to check my IP address right then and I told him that our business doesn't use that IP network scope. He had a lot of hutzpah to stay on the phone thinking I would succumb. I asked him for the business phone number so I could call them back (even though the 860-540-6999 number was showing on my cell phone), but he refused to do that, making up all sorts of lame excuses. Also, I told him my phone number was listed with the Do Not Call list so they better not call again. I am pretty sure they set their phone to display whatever number they want it to display in caller ID. I kept expecting him to finally give up, but he wouldn't, so I eventually hung up on him.
- yCaller stated he was from Geek Support and that this call was about my computer.
He had a foreign accent, Australian probably.
I did not say anything, and he hung up. - Jack MeoffCalled looking for donations for the Sirian refuge fund...LOL...seriously they left no message.

- DeeI have received this call many times.. and just yesterday I received an email saying I have an open ticket at Best Buy Geek Support... I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING WITH BEST BUY.. There is not even a Best Buy where I live now.... UGH... Stupid low life's need to get a job like normal people and stop trying to steal... I too wonder if Best Buy was breached????? I have bought from them in the past...
