Vanderbilt is a mortgage company for Clayton Homes. They are the rudest most inconsiderate people. They say they are just trying to help you when they are really just trying to get as much money out of you as possible along with any land you put up for collateral. My husband was in transition from one job to another (better paying), but due to the way payroll was for each of the companies we went a month with out a check. They then told us the would defer the payment and when it came time to defer they told us we couldnt and charged us a late fee anyway. I WOULD NOT recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I have received several curt messages from Kim at this company asking for a person I do not know.  I have asked her to stop calling me, to no effect.  This company , Vanderbilt/Clayton homes is owned by Berkshire Hathaway, owned by Warren Buffet. Shame on him!  Berkshire also owns Sees candy and Geico insurance ( among others)

Received a call asking for a Carol using my last name. Often times, they mispronounce my first name so I answered there is nobody here by that name.  She apologized and hung-up.  I called the number back and it automatically answered with a recorded message saying, "thank you for calling Vanderbilt Mortgage, for services in English please press one". I hung up.

A man from this 865-380-2220 called me on my business line to get in touch with a neighbor that I have never had any contact with. They called me by my 1st name and said that they got my name and number out of the phone book which is totally untrue. They asked if I knew the neighbor that they where looking for and said that they'd been trying to get a hold of them, but that their phone was disconnected, and that they do "business" with them. I told them I knew nothing about them and the conversation ended. I then Googled this 865-380-2220 number and found out that it is a finance company who calls it's debtor's neighbors when they cannot reach the debtor. I returned the call to Vanderbilt Mortgage/Clayton Homes and told them NOT to call my number again, that I was reporting them and they were full of crap about getting my name and information out of the phone book - this is a BUSINESS number, they researched me and my property more than they orginially said. This is TOTALLY unacceptable for a company to harass other people who have nothing to do with a debt!

I called back this number asking them to take me off their list.  They said they can't , said evidently some of my relatives or neighbors owe them.  This is so wrong.  I only had my number just a few weeks and I get calls quite regular. I do not and have never owed them any money.  No one I know owes these people ,  I can not answer my cell phone where I live because it does not work in this area.  I called them back(land line) as a kind gesture and they will not, saying they can not take me off their list.  I don't need this, I have enough on my plate.

Yea It's Vanderbilt Morgage. All they do is call and harrass all the time. Sometimes they call 3 times a day and even on Sunday. I have payed on this loan since 1997 and if I'm right if you don't go past 30 days your not considered late because they can only report late after 30 days on your credit. I pay there late charge and never say a word. I talked to them once and asked why they call all the time and there reply was we need a date when you will make a payment. I said is that all. Well I will tell you what date I will pay on for the next 3 months so I don't have to hear from you until I call back and give you three more dates. They said we can't do that because we will call you every month. I think this is nothing but bad practice and a harrassment .

Received a call from this number the other day while on the phone.  Call went directly to voice mail, however, no message was left.  Received a second call this AM at 9:40 AM with caller ID of Vanderbilt Mortgage, so I did not answer.  I have never had any dealings with this company.  They are now blocked from any further calls.

Got a call with callerid 'Vanderbilt Mort,' picked up because I was expecting a call from a service person and thought this could be a cell phone call from someone named 'Mort.'  He was trying to contact a neighbor of mine named Gonzales who lived on Buckskin.  When I asked who he was with he just said it was a private matter, and then asked if I lived in [town name].  Well, he was about 30 miles off on the town! He was polite, but they've got no business calling neighbors, and I wouldn't have given him any answers even if I had known the people or the location.

After reading these posts I am clueless as to why they call my number.  I do not answer if I do not know caller.  This number on my ID shows Vanderbilt Mort.  I have no debt, no mortgage as my home is built and paid for, I have not made an interest pmt on a credit account for over thirty years, I pay my bills monthly and live comfortably.  I know others are in trouble but I know of no one personally who is in debt to these people, so why are they bothering me?  I have been on do not call list for years but that is a joke, I get more telemarketing calls now than ever.

I just donot answer anymore, if it is important a person can leave a message.  Jerks.

I think this company is calling about a co-worker's mortgage.  I never answer a number I don't recognize.  I definitely don't answer on my cellphone when it costs me money. I resent the intrusion.

The company has called my house for our neighbors, involving us in their personal affairs.  I find this insulting---that you think you will harass us then we will tell your customer our neighbor that you are calling----it won't happen your business you handle it
